However, if you've got a hard top, it can be a bit of a challenge to remove, especially if you don't have anyone around to lend a helping hand. Of course, this is to say nothing about where to put it once you do get it off. Fortunately, I've got a solution for you and in this video, you'll get to see just how quick and easy it is to remove a 2-door or 4-door hard top, by yourself and have it stored up and out of the way by hanging it from the ceiling of your garage.

I’ve been saying this for the last few years. Not so much with the JL, but up here in Canada when you could get a 2 door JK for under 30k, I always wondered why people bought side by sides..

I usually reverse straps so you can just pull straps down to take up slack and use other hand to take the weight on one corner at a time goes much faster and works with rooftop tents too
I tried this and if you reverse the straps in my opinion it makes it harder to ease the top back down. Because the release is up high close to the ceiling and you need a ladder to go around. If you have it the other way you can actually reach it by hand.
I'm glad I'm not the only one that has full conversations with my cars.

@@wayalife Eddie, do you know of a highly experienced YJ repair shop that knows YJs inside and out that is close to Napa, CA 94558, I’m desperate. You have so many Jeeps you could start a Jeep dealership. Most youtubers are building the 4 doors or trucks, I think doing a 2 door will be fun and exciting. Thanks for all your content.

@@wayalife I have a very bad vibration/chatter, like I had no motor mounts, in 1st and reverse gear, only when engaging the clutch, after engagement it’s fine, and only happens once in a while. When It’s not happening it drives like new, and you can’t make it happen buy abusing clutch engagement. I’ve had it to several 4x4 shops, transmission/clutch shops, S & H 4 Wheel Drive Service Center in Sac., Drive Line Services in Sac shop, etc. I first thought it was the rear differential, so I installed a Eaton Detroit Truetrac Differential, new axle bearings, diff. bearing, seals. The only thing I didn’t do was the pinion bearing, had to move the Jeep to a different location. It’s hard for me to explain the details when typing.
@@dougharlow6037 I would definitely pull the carrier and give the pinion a closer look. I had a similar issue on my JK years ago and it turned out to be chipped teeth on the pinion.

I've gone as far as taking off the freedom panels and replacing the front doors on my 2015 JKU with tube doors. Maybe one day I'll get around to taking off the top. Your videos are the best!

Thank you so much for this video. I added a pulley to this because I have a 4 door Jeep, also a female, and the top was too heavy for me to lift. With the pulley I can now lift the top by myself.

Very nice, guys! I’d love to take my top off but I have a roof rack on it for camping gear. Although, I plan to build an off-road trailer to haul it all instead. When that’s done, rack is being sold and top is coming off!

LOL - I'll try to get to it but really, it's super simple. You just park under the top and lower one corner at a time until it's sitting on the rails of your Jeep. Climb inside and then scoot it back in place the same way you take it off. From there, you just bolt it on. :)

Thank you for all these videos and the positivity! I was a Jeep Wrangler Port owner from 99’ to 2007. I have always missed it and have dreams of finding it even! So it is time for a new Jeep - now that the half doors are back I am sold on the idea. I plan on getting the base uppers, I was curious what the lowers only option means? I plan on getting the Willys Sport 2023.
