    That's a great video! I used to drink Canarias but I find it too strong especially because I drink alone. My favourite yerba today is Sara, it's an uruguayan type made in Brazil, it tastes delicious and has the right amount of caffeine for me.

    Nice video, but there is a real lack of some good Brazilian Erva Mates (portuguese) on your shelves like: Sabadin (one of the best, if not the best Brazilian Erva Mate), Ximango, (the second best in my opinion), Vier, Laranjeiras, Madrugada, Barão de Cotagipe, Tertúlia, Nutri Mate, 81, Yacuy, Rei Verde and Valério. You should try them all. Brazilian Erva Mate are strong and more "full-bodied", specially the green versions, with a shorter ageing time.

    Awesome video, great job describing the different grinds and components (leaves, stem, dust) of yerba. Personally, I drink Taragui Blue (sin palo) as my everyday yerba of choice but the other brands are also great. I'm so glad that you can enjoy it too in the US. Best regards from Argentina! cheers.

    thank you for helping educate the world about this wonderful plant, i myself am a rosamonte especial lover and wanted to help clarify that this one is aged for two years, but you are right about there being no "best yerba" as they all offer something special, i read that all yerba is basically organic since no pesticides are used. salud !

    Great video. I usually use a poro/mate/calabaza, but have recently started using a french press to fill my travel mug in the morning too. I've tried of the brands in the video. I like Taragui because it's soft and complex, Nobleza Gaucha and Rosamontes when I want something stronger. For the first time today I tried La Tranquera, which I really like. Fairly strong, complex, and quite smoky!

    Rosamonte Especial is the best one. The full flavor is amazing. I also like Taragui for its much softer flavor. Nobleza Goucha is also good, a little stronger than Taragui (Red).

    • @TNUni167

      Taragui despalado is my current favorite and it's 1/4 the price of a similar American branded yerba mate.

      @Sitzkrieg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a very late reply. I am posting this comment mostly for new meteros. Rosamonte Especial is the normal Rosamonte but without its intricate smoky nuanced flavor. It is more or less trying to compete with Canarias in terms of flavor.

    Is smoked mate and even unsmoked mate bad for you with PAH's from the process over the fire? I'm worried due to it being possibly cancer causing. I would like a yerba mate that has no contact with smoke from fire.

      @@gypsyman535 You should never let the water boil. Even if you cool it afterwards. Besides that, experiment your own preferred temperature. BTW, it is usual, if you drink Brasiian yerbas like Canarias, to use a specific bombilla, with smaller holes so the leaves wont get stuck in the bombilla.

    What is the best way to strain extremely fine dust like particles of Taragui yerba mate (regular blend) when they are not stopped by my tea strainer? The particles are much smaller than EcoTeas brand. Can you please recommend a very strong brand that is unsmoked with larger particles like EcoTeas?

      you can put your hand on top of the mate (while still dry) sealing the upper side of the mate and shake it a couple of times it'll take out most of the dust(also quite a bit of flavor...) you'll see the dust stik to your hand

    Los argentinos toman el mate dulce en posillos cerámica o vidrio a lo doña María como decimos los Uruguayos o como tomaban las abuelas en Uruguay

      dolicosefalo pallas disculpa pero te equivocas, primero no copiamos nada, tomamos el mate de mil maneras, al gusto del consumidor, amargo, dulce, terere, con cascara de naranja o limon, o yuyos. cada provincia tiene su estilo pero jamas copiamos nada. y el mate lo tomaban los guaranies que vivian en Argentina, Brasil, Paraguay y Uruguay osea se invento al mismo tiempo en estos paises. y otra cosita, lo tomamos en diferentes tipos de mates, porongo, calabaza, ceramica, en los de lata. y muchos tipos de mates mas, y esto a veces depende de la provincia q estes o en tu gusto. deja de tirar mierda que no sabes nada.

    • @DeboraGauna
      @DeboraGauna 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      dolicosefalo pallas y para que el mate sea bueno debe tener palo, polvillo y yerba en sus justas medidas y aca hay distintos tipos de yerba segun el gusto del consumidor, pero generalmente se toman las mas fuertes y las suaves que son las uruguayas las toman las mujeres, aca en Argentina. pero como te decia al principio una buena yerba debe tener partes iguales de palo, yerba y polvillo.
