I'm from Mexico so my first experience with "tea" was mate, It was so bitter that I stayed away from tea for a good time, later my grandmother gave me and old gaiwan she used and some sencha it completely changed my mind about tea and after that I've tried all types of tea and all I can say there's nothing else like it its so unique tasting and it has so many types, the learning curve of learning to brew good tea was also entertaining
We are Brazilian Yerba mate producer in Brazil ! We are starting our exportation for several countries in the world ! The name of our company is CAPELETI ECO CO! Thank you for the amazing video ! We develop a powder energy drink also made from Yerba mate ! We are excited to show to the whole world !!!!!!
@@danieldesmond3422that would be interesting but I think it will be a lot more bitter. Matcha is pure ground tea leafs. Yerba mate has stem and other parts of the plant. If the leafs for Yerba mate is harvested the same way as matcha tea leafs, then I can see it happening

Thank you for this detailed exposition on the two beverages. I’ve been a mate drinker for nearly 15 years and find now that I no longer have a desire for it unless it is of the organic green, unsmoked variety. In addition to a balanced profile of the 3 xanthines, mate also contains a valued chemical known as chlorogenic acid. I much prefer matcha these days even if the difference in price point does not allow me to indulge in it as much. At any rate, for me it is all about the superlative nutrient EGCG. One thing of note is that I don’t believe Yerba mate is grown to any appreciable extent in Uruguay. The Uruguyos have their mate grown in Brazil which is usually quite bitter since it is processed “sin palo” (without stems).
Le matcha est un effet de mode , très chère et s'en aucun effet énergétique quand à sa culture naturel laissé moi rigoler, bref testé les 3 produits et vous serez surpris

Would it be possible to grind
Yerba mate into a powder like Macha is? What do you think that would do for the drink?

I see your comments on every yerba mate video. I'd love to try that mate!!
What if we combine chai, mate and matcha and check what kind of flavor it has. Like a fusion drink.
Chai is just tea, same plant
I think we should power matcha and mate and snort it to see God

If mate provoked all these urban myths, Messi wouldn't play soccer, he would be in a hospital. Mate is a traditional drink for generations
I think people are talking about the Brazilian chimarrao which looks like Matcha.
Yes, it’s a powdery, vibrant bright green. Difficult to find in the US and few seem to be aware of its existence.
@@historybuff66 I'm lucky to have a guy in my country who's really obsessed with Yerba Mate and offers 200+ different yerbas.
That person is not brewing Yerba Mate but he is making soup.

Large amounts of yerba mate can cause cancer.
nah
It's just the roasted version of mate, if consumed in large quantities. Anything smoked or charred can release carcinogens when consumed.
