A moment that stands out for me is how you guys (and the community) rose above the `useless banter` comment and embraced it. I know for myself, it's the banter and relationship you three share that makes this podcast enjoyable to listen to (and of course all the science as well)
The Running Channel does the world of Athletics and Running proud. Interesting topics delivered in a fun, informative and relaxed manner. Wishing your Channel nothing but the best for 2025 and Happy New Year to all 3 of you.
Agreed, 2024 has been the most pivotal year in running... because I started this year! Starting with "couch to 5k" style run-walks in April, I eventually got it down to a sub-24 minute 5k, a sub-55 10k, and, on one lazy Sunday run, even a decent HM time by year's end. The Running Channel provided inspiration, a variety of different examples of a runner, and training ideas, for each stage of this journey; so thank you! Here's to a great 2025!
My highlight was watching Sifan Hassan in the Olympics. And listening to your episodes, as well as your coverage of the Olympics - that was really great! For me personally, despite a lot of injuries and asthma flare ups, I ran further and longer than in 2023 and even managed to lower my 5km and 10km time down a smidge.
Congratulations on the 100 podcasts and may there be many more and longer would be great. A highlight that immediately came to me was the podcast after the Oxford Half Marathon with Sarah’s indignation at Rick’s pace and then him not mitigating it by blowing up before the end 😊. On a more serious note the podcast with a mixture of great information and fun camaraderie has been a great help to me in what has been a very difficult year and the club is a tremendously positive addition and a very friendly and supportive environment.
Well done guys. Love this channel it gets me up again when I lack motivation. I had three down weeks feeling glum after Translantau 100k, this brilliant content and banter together with Mo gunning for his 5k goals got me back on the road. I’d love to have you do a Q&A with my young runners, I’m sure they’d be super charged talking to you all. Have a wonderful 2025 guys!
Started listening a few months ago and ran Malaga half as a result of listening. Didn't think I could do that after knee meniscus problems and two stents since the last one in 2011. Now considering a marathon and already entered into next half. Thanks for the good humour, encouragement and advice.
Running highlight of the year was 16 year old Australian sprint sensation Gout Gout. At the 2024 Australian Schools Championships in Brisbane, Gout ran the 200m in 20.04 seconds, breaking Usain Bolt's 20.13 second under 18 time set in 2003. Gout's time also broke the 56-year-old Australian record of 20.06 set by Peter Norman in 1968. The result is the sixth fastest in the world by an athlete under the age of 20 and Gout set it as a 16-year-old.
For me the highlight is how I went from seeing running as an extra next to cycling, to almost exclusively focusing on running. I did a 10K in 48 minutes in May, and the thought of improving my time really motivated me. This autumn I did a 10K i 42 minutes. Next year I'm signing up for my first Marathon, aiming for a time under 3:30 (it's somewhat hilly).
Hopefully Rick’s song will make it to my spotify list! I have sssoooo enjoyed all of the training tips, marathons, halves, Olympic shenanigans, watching you all, and mere mortals like me, train through highs and lows to achieve what may have previously felt impossible. And of course 2024 has been a year i have thoroughly enjoyed all of the banter, some of the science, and all that f the debuting thoughts. I wish I had known of you lot before my London trip couple summers ago. You have inspired me so much to really enjoy and train for in this world of running. 54yo, running my first ever 10k in 2025 thanks to you and Runna! You can teach an old dog new tricks! Thanks for all the laughs along the way. Much love and hopefully less undercarriage carnage from across the pond 🇺🇸
Not from this year, but the two biggest things I got from your podcast are, (1) You interviewed Phily Bowden and I have been following her ever since. She is a great person and runner. (2) I first heard of Parkrun through your podcasts. It isn't as big here in the US as it is other places, but I have managed to do 38 Parkruns since I learned of it. It is some of my most fun running.
And I can confirm she's as lovely in real life as she appears on camera. Met her and Daniel at the Night of 10,000 pb's last year, had a quick chat and selfie with her.
Congratulations on 100 episodes 🥳 My favourite 2024 podcast was Rick's Oxford Half Marathon Debrief - loved hearing all about his 1st Half Maro since knee surgery! There were parts of it I was crying....then laughing....and then crying again 😅
Sarah, thank you for the recommendation of The Rest Is History podcast. Starting at the beginning. Very informative and entertaining. Good luck with Pub Trivia.
I'll be honest - I always thought running was incredibly boring. Took it up nearer the start of this year, have run my first 10km, half marathon, have a marathon and an ultra next year - and have been finding so much interesting material to watch on this channel! Here's to a great 2025 :)
My new bit of data from 2024 is Overnight HRV which surprisingly is not a model of Honda. I really don't understand what it means, but now I have another thing to fret over which in turn drives up my stress score.
This is one of the few things on TH-cam that I do not hesitate to click on, quite brilliant. Look to more less of the science and more "useless banter" in 2025
I think there has been a laugh out loud moment in every episode for me (thankyou) but I particularly liked the erotic episode 😂 Please ask Rick to stop colouring his hair!! Longer episodes please!
My 2 highlights - I’m cheating - running a 10k PB and my first ever half marathon in May. My 2025 highlights? I will be running London for the first time and will be a national level field official in athletics for the first time
Love the channel and love the podcasts but please stop talking over each other. Sarah please let the guys finish occasionally. Not all of us have 100% hearing and it makes it hard work and spoils it.
I love you guys (the banter!) and this podcast, and I might be in the minority, but please don't make the pods any longer! So many of the pods I listen to started as 15-30 minutes and now they're all over an hour per episode. Usually, this doesn't add anything to the story, but just means there are too many tangents and bad editing, and I have to say, it's made me stop listening to a bunch of them. There is something to be said for a well-crafted 30-ish minute pod, and at that time count it's easily digestible in one car ride to work or walk. But I digress... I think my favorite episodes are the ones where you all accomplish remarkable things and speak to how hard they were, how hard the training was, how unreachable the goal could feel, but how pushing those limits are what make the goal attainable - makes you very relatable in a way that not many other running pods are! Thanks for a great 2024, and congrats on 100 episodes!

I tuned in for the science, but the banter certainly grew on me.
I agree!!
more longer podcasts please!!!!
Jasmin Paris was my 2024 highlight. Her achievement and then how humble she was afterwards was so inspiring

Been binging these podcast eps lately-stoked to see a new one drop

Congrats trc team on your 100th ep!! Looking forward to tuning into the eps in 2025, and would also love longer trc pod eps!!
I enjoy all the episodes but Ross Noble was my absolute favourite!

Congratulations on 100 TRC team. You guys are a force for good in running. Keep up the great work. Some more Andy session videos in 2025 please 🙏 ❤
My favorite episode was the one after Running Home for Christmas last year where you're all loopy!
That Rick Van Dyke quip didn't get the reception it deserved 😂😂
Congratulations on 100 episodes 🥳 My favourite 2024 podcast was Rick's Oxford Half Marathon Debrief - loved hearing all about his 1st Half Maro since knee surgery! There were parts of it I was crying....then laughing....and then crying again 😅
Sarah, thank you for the recommendation of The Rest Is History podcast. Starting at the beginning. Very informative and entertaining. Good luck with Pub Trivia.
I loved watching all your first marathons. I'd love more race day episodes
You missed the bggest highlight of the year Jasmin Paris
I came here to say this 😮
Me too, how on earth did they miss the biggest event of the year. Urghhh
I'll be honest - I always thought running was incredibly boring. Took it up nearer the start of this year, have run my first 10km, half marathon, have a marathon and an ultra next year - and have been finding so much interesting material to watch on this channel! Here's to a great 2025 :)
I can't believe you left out Jasmine Paris' completion of the Barkley Marathons. You've even had her on the show!
Congratulations on 💯! 🎉👏🥳
Josh Kerr was wearing a onesie on the track in Paris. He was just behind Cole Hocker wearing his.
behind who??
My new bit of data from 2024 is Overnight HRV which surprisingly is not a model of Honda. I really don't understand what it means, but now I have another thing to fret over which in turn drives up my stress score.
I’ve looked it up but I still don’t understand what to do with it.
Lol. Sarah snapped her fingers and the YT advert came on. I had to wait, skip, then back up to see it happen properly.
Love the shirts, Sarah!
Just going to debut this thought. Undercarriage Carnage tempo should have erotic pacing. 1 hour long pods please!
longer podcasts please
Is there a reason why you don't put a number in the beginning of the title ?
Also the longer the podcast, the better!
Undercarriage carnage is something very different in my mind. Let’s just say……..mismatch.
Looking forward to hear Rick's new song
"Speaking of hills..." - I was hoping for an update from north London 🤷🏻♂️
let’s grow the podcast length by 15 minutes this time 😤
Ross noble was the best episode. Not because it was without Sarah, she's great too, but there's only 3 cameras
In Israel military 2k is a standard test that is the main way to test the fitness of the soldiers
Rick - what about hot towels either in a barber or Indian restaurant? Don’t want my capillaries popping there!
More of a lowlight, but I feel a review of running in 2024 should mention Kelvin Kiptum 😢
What did Sara say in French? Le line?
This is one of the few things on TH-cam that I do not hesitate to click on, quite brilliant. Look to more less of the science and more "useless banter" in 2025

Cheers for 2 years and 100 episodes of useless banter! Looking forward to what’s next for 2025!
