Thank you for this information. My dad who was born inn 1928 had a cousin, he called him Moses, was a Texas Ranger and Moses flew a helicopter. I wish I had more information about him.
You forgot to mention J.T. Canales, Texas State legislator who served 5 terms. He led the investigation that led to charges against the Texas Rangers and an official reduction in their number. He presented his findings to a joint session of the Texas Senate and House of Representatives. I attended the school named after him.
In south Texas, we Texanos called (the old Ranger Force) them "Los Rinches!" They were muderers and terrorists to the Texanos of what became Texas but had been New Spain for four hundred years! Personally, they hanged a grand uncle for whom I am named; they jailed my grandfather for hearding his own cattle and without charges! They mudered another granduncle because he dared challenge the Sheriff who came to claim their land. My own father had his experiences too but when he returned from the WWII, he said, "We could read and write English and we knew how how to use a gun so the could not treat us like that any more!"
The Texas Rangers were some of the most racist cops that ever existed. Killing Mexicans, Tejanos and native Americans on the spot. Women , children etc. In a little town in Texas the chicanos stood together and made the pieces of shit surrender. They cowardly surrender to General Sherman in the civil war, while the Tejano/Hispanic confederate soldiers were never defeated in battle. The Rangers were bullies with weapons, like dictators against unarmed citizens, of another race.
My GGG grandfather, Nathaniel Thomas Journey, was an early Texas Ranger, in the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. His name is on several historical markers around the state. He rode against the commanches that were killing the settlers. He was killed by an outlaw. I was born in his home county of Fannin.
My great grandgreatfather was a Mexican American born in Texas. He was against Texas rangers for obvious reasons and interests.. He fought against Texas rangers aka rinches with he's famous 30-30 Remington rifle and he's horse... Rinches were after him not shure if that was because he took down some of hem but he hidden himself in the cerros in Mexico to let the waters chill. In that process he had sons in Mexico he had sons in the USA too So when everything chilled completely he came to take their USA born family to work on the farms while the mexican ones they made their own life in Mexico but as they said story repeats itself and here we are in our bloody root country...
UNFORTUNATELY you chose to use pictures of the worst portrayal of the Lone Ranger using pictures of an unbelievably bad movie using live dummies for Clayton Moore and Jay silverheals. That ruined this whole video of the history of the Texas Rangers.
Yes frank hammer went after bonnie and cylde because TDC were pissed.. and at the time frank was not on the payroll of ranger . Because the governor fired a bunch of ranger. To the director of TDC. . Hired frank to go get bonnie and cylde.
Here's another side. Pancho Villa murdered my grandma's family, the Rangers were the only ones that weren't afraid to go after these Mexican "freedom fighter" criminals, and my family is Hispanic. Say what you want about the Texas Rangers, at least they did something about the problems instead of just saying feelgood fancy words
Stephen Austin was dam handsome! I had 1 ancestor from Missouri that married into my German side if the family. Never could figure out why till you showed me 😊. Bring back the commanches! There are zero in dallas-fortworth! One of my ancestors was a curcuit-riding judge.
You can find out a lot more about the Texas Rangers at the Waco,Tx Texas Ranger Museum.

So…..
@randywall6678 So.............with some reading the past doesn't have to be such a mystery.
My great-grandfather was the Texas ranger
In south Texas, we Texanos called (the old Ranger Force) them "Los Rinches!" They were muderers and terrorists to the Texanos of what became Texas but had been New Spain for four hundred years! Personally, they hanged a grand uncle for whom I am named; they jailed my grandfather for hearding his own cattle and without charges! And yet the thought never occurred to them to move back to Mexico? Astounding
It was a retired Texas Ranger named Frank Hamer that led the group that took out Bonnie and Clyde

You talk about the Lone Ranger TV show but are showing clips from the 2013 movie.
Both are bogus, LOL
My great grandgreatfather was a Mexican American born in Texas. He was against Texas rangers for obvious reasons and interests.. He fought against Texas rangers aka rinches with he's famous 30-30 Remington rifle and he's horse... Two family's?
Dont ever forget legendary Texas Rangers like Bill Gerth, Leo Hickman, and Lane Akin.
And Chuck Norris
My 2nd Great Uncle was a Texas Ranger
Read Impire Of The Summer Moon. It's a much better and accurate history of the rangers.
Nice content, would you like some recommendation?
UNFORTUNATELY you chose to use pictures of the worst portrayal of the Lone Ranger using pictures of an unbelievably bad movie using live dummies for Clayton Moore and Jay silverheals. That ruined this whole video of the history of the Texas Rangers.
"One riot, one Ranger"....
Chuck Norris is the only real answer to both questions.
Do not please use Johnny Depp and arming hammer to represent The Lone Ranger. The only Lone Ranger is Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. Thank you
This video used the 'wrong' Lone Ranger in 1949. Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheals were the correct actors for that time.
1:45 The Bionic Man?
ron odoms 6 guns are in austin

Here's another side. Pancho Villa murdered my grandma's family, the Rangers were the only ones that weren't afraid to go after these Mexican "freedom fighter" criminals, and my family is Hispanic. Stephen Austin was dam handsome! I had 1 ancestor from Missouri that married into my German side if the family. Never could figure out why till you showed me 😊. Bring back the commanches! There are zero in dallas-fortworth! One of my ancestors was a curcuit-riding judge.
