The Flex Glue commercial looks incredible: a super strong adhesive that can do it all. But does it really work that way? The TV commercials show Flex Glue lifting more than 1,000 pounds, working underwater and even gluing an entire 4x4 together. Inside Edition went to the Grove School of Engineering in New York City to get some help from two professors, chemical engineer Raymond Tu and mechanical engineer Ali Sadegh. First they carried out the cinder block test. #InsideEdition

Yeah they didn’t really apply it to the connections, it was definitely not applied in the right areas
So she just called a patch of grass an “off road track”, and then started driving on the “off road” road

If you glob the glue on the outside of the pipe it's not really attaching much you need to coat the inside and then attach, then possibly the outside. The test was pretty stupid to be honest.

I'm legit thankful this glue was made and that it can hold after a full week of curing. I'm curious if it can do just as good as welding for metal, a small bumber bar glued to a hitch frame would avoid welding and if it holds I'd be impressed.

I'd say it held up to all the tests in the commercial and the dunes buggy was not the same make or model as in the commercial so the stress points were likely very different. Flex glue: 1, inside edition: 0
Did you ever suggest to the company trying to find a way to make it even better? That has helped for other products, but I think those products had different purposes. That doesn't mean there's nothing they can do to improve Flex Glue though.

When the buggy was glued together I just said in my head it’s a lot easier to weld it together than buying a lot of glue but getting a welder would be more expensive but it would hold the thing together basically it’s whole life than glue that held it together for a little bit

Not really, they clearly have never glued together pipes. You don't just make a ring around the edges, you slather glue on the black pipe before slipping the other pipe over it. It makes better contact and drastically increases it's strength.
