#AskAbhijit we all hear about how dictatorship is bad. But don't you think to administer a culturally diverse country such as India, a dictatorship such as in China is a better option both economically and militarily?
That would depend on 'who' the dictator was (abilities and socio-economic attributes) and what form of 'power inheritance' is in place. The two main advantages that democracy has over any other form of government, is that it enables the ambitious people to achieve power without violence and then not fear a fall from power, enabling a peaceful handover to the next person. China (and currently Russia) have 'competent' dictatorships in place, however.... When Putin finally goes (dies of old age or 'removed'), there are no known inheritors, so factional infighting and retribution, plus the method of replacement may cause issues as far as the ordinary people are concerned.
