I have used almost balls for ages . They are brilliant for practice , very accurate in a flight of about 60 yards? Don't forget they are only 30% balls. However you having reviewed them will make them even more difficult to get hold of! Impossible with lockdown at the moment. Thanks a lot 🙄
James great video. I use almost golf balls with my simulator in my garage. I like them because hitting them is closer to a normal golf ball compared to hitting a foam or rubber ball. Give them a couple of hits on the golf course.
I have been using these for over 15 years. In Kentucky there was a pitch and putt at the college. They had these balls there as a test. Turned it into a par 70 course
It would be nice to see you try one of the home simulators like an Optishot or the Rapsodo R Motion and compare the results to the Garmin G80. Thanks for keeping up the enjoyable content .
If you elevate the launch monitor a little when you tee the ball up it will read it every time with a driver. It missed a lot before i elevated it about an inch above my hitting mat. it hasn't missed since.

I have two Almostgolf balls and love them!! I can hit them in the house and not dmage anything. I use them for chipping practice and let the grandkids hit them at full swing. They are great and I wish I had more!!

I've got the bedsheet set up in the garage, might have to look into a Garmin but luckily my local course is still open here in Queensland Australia just have no flags and pvc cup pipes for the pins so my score is about 8 shots lower per round
I’ve been using these balls in my backyard for about a year and really like them for hitting into my net. I used to use real golf balls until I shanked one into my neighbors yard😅. Last month I had to replenish my supply and couldn’t find them anywhere (I live in the USA), but I found a similar ball by SCI CORE. It’s orange in color and slightly firmer and heavier. I like it much better. I found it on amazon. You should review the small outdoor hitting mats too. I have two: one has 3 surfaces : tight lie, thicker to take a tee, and longer artificial grass. I was wondering which was best to use with there lighter balls. Thanks for the fun content and great diversion during these rough times.

I have some Hank Haney branded almost/foam balls that work pretty well. I was even able to hit one over my 2-story house with a wedge. They are pretty worthless in wind though

I do a lot in indoor practice putting and haven't broken a window in weeks. Speaking of a slightly smaller ball, how does it compare to the old British size ball. Hi James, the G80 is a great bit of kit. Ive had mine for a few months now. With the quarantine in places I dug out my old hitting net. Any recommendations on where to get some Almost Golf Balls? The price has went through the roof in the current situation.
interested in seeing you play a course with the garmin. I have the same Puttout setup. best investment i have made. the mat rolls a 10. which most of the greens i play in comp do as well so i get a good feel.
A good foam ball can be a great asset. The key is consistency. I use them in tight places all the time. Again though, you want to see a consistent flight and distance. I would not putt with them. It would absolutely ruin my feel.

My effort of practice net was put kids trampoline on side and shoot into it, put blanket down for safety didn't work.... My TP5 pix ball speed was faster coming out than going in..... Few tweaks to make !!

Does the G80 work on a smaller practice mat that has a tendency to move..? Mainly want to use this in the garden hitting into a practice net. My mat occasionally slides forward on the concrete, so would that movement mess up the data collection on the G80..?
For me, the almost golf ball should only be used for full swings. I think it would destroy your chipping to targets as you would have different swing length for each ball. Only chipping should be inside with a net or if you play climb the ladder

Yes! Was putting them over the house quite nicely until I hit one that had a side cut off from my mower. Started on EXACT same path then dove right into a bedroom storm window. SMASH! BUT... the good news is, I didn't lose it! BTW, used to buy them on AMAZON. Cant get them anymore. Anyone have a source, please share!
Truthly James how many takes did you do before the tp5 into the putt out hole? I have had one of those for ages and it takes me a good few shots before I get a putt out 🤔😜😂😂😂 Glad to see the driving range has moved, I was having kittens on your behave, thinking the garage door was going to get it😬 Great video nearly there with the numbers👍

I enjoy hitting foam balls with my lob wedge in the back yard. They really exaggerate curve, so I get good feedback on how I'm swinging

The Almost Golf Ball is perfect for backyard practice, sure beats the whiff-a-balls (Plastic ball with holes) I've been using.
