  • Probably the most annoying part of getting a new motorcycle is all of the factory stickers with all the required legal jargon. Removing motorcycle stickers and decals can be a time-consuming and tedious process. Fortunately, by applying a little heat, you can quickly and easily remove motorcycle stickers from plastic, paint, or any other surface on your bike they've been stuck to.

Sweet video!. I can use this technique to remove those annoying dealer stickers that they put all over your motorcycle when I take delivery of my new T7.

Key part of this video is when he said "remover stickers from a NEW bike" I just came in after 3 hours outside with a heat gun trying to remove the livery from my old Aprilia RS. IT DOES NOT WORK!!! it peals off in pieces the size of quarters before it tears now you know why I'm here on YT searching for THE WAY.

After you peel all the stickers off what would you prefer a microfiber rag to get the residue off? What kind of cleaner?

Tank and fender labels come of easy, especially if the bike is newer. Just use a hair dryer. No need for the heat gun and you better be really careful if you do go that route, especially on plastic. All of those should have peeled of fine after just leaving it in the sun for an hour on a hot day. Using a razor on paint is generally a bad idea also.

My 300Ls decal lasted 43 miles. Went bare bones red amd white. The wifes hairdryer made easy work of it😊

Just catching up on your vids, so maybe this is a good tip for next new bike :) The method that works best for me is to drape a cloth over the sticker, then pour boiling water over the cloth. Let sit for a bit, like 30s or so. Remove cloth, sticker will peel off easily. I'm just a little wary about heat guns and dirt bike plastic.

    • @ashparyag7503

I did this to remove all but the S on the front fender of my DRZ400. Congratulations on the sweet new bike! I’m curious why you bought a new one? There’s lots of decent used DRZ with a lot of the necessary mods already done. Regardless, I look forward to seeing you out on it and enjoying it!

The used market around here is brisk and overpriced right now. Everything's either going for 500 over book value or a 2001 going for 4k.
I had a buddy sell his 2017 for 6k recently, so I figured for the difference might as well go new. Suzuki is offering 300 in accessory credit with a new bike right now, so that helps with getting it set up.

Wish I had thought of that! I got my first bike a few weeks ago and left it in the sun for a few minutes followed by WD40. It worked, but it was far messier than this method. Thanks!

Have not had time to watch the "New DRZ" vid yet, but I will. But I will also say right now congrats on the awesome bike! One of my favorites! Future reference tech tip (that you may already very well know) heat guns work wonders on restoring the color back on faded plastics. I heat gunned the cheap plastic shutters in the winter back a few years ago. Made em look as good as new and no painting! :-)

I just bought a used Suzuki that had decals of some type. They must have been on for years because you can still see the outline of the decals. How can I make the decal “ghost” disappear? Thanks in advance from an ocd sufferer.
