Hi, review from chile, bough this one around 500-600 usd with currency conversion. I originally used cheap executive chair at around 50 usd and it was pretty uncomfortable for long runs and no adjustments. Jumping to this chair is obviously an improvement and since from where i live getting another popular chair like aeron and steelcase are extremely hard to get, so this one plus this review convinced me to get one. I feel satisfied, there is no much i could compare, i could say the backrest adjustment is pretty helpful in my case. My body is longer on my upper back conpared to my short legs, so this adjustment help fit my body perfetly, i dont know if other chairs allow this adjutment. The armrest is comfy and i do say, i dont know what material it is, but is feels good, the chairs in my job doesn't compare, it is just special. Other than that the rest i find negligible or as expected for a 500 usd chair, it is comfy and i can sit codding and in meeting for hours without hurting my back or neck. For obvious reasons, if i had experience with other famous chair i could be more critical, but as a newbie, i feel satisfied with my purchase
"No one knows about" you're wrong! I got one too and it's definitely a great chair. My only complaint is buying it too early to get the leather seat option, I find the mesh a bit hard for long sessions sometimes. And yes it fits perfectly for gaming, in fact I'm way better than in my previous SL Titan for long gridding sessions. (And thank you BTODtv I actually got it after seing your 2024 tier list 😅)
I wish it would be that easy! The Leap is probably the best chair for most people, because of the range of adjustments, but it doesn't mean it's best for you. I would download the chair cheat sheet here to get a better idea of the top chairs www.btod.com/chairlist/ -Greg
@@btodtvtried download it but it wont send me the mail tried this so many times and still nothing, im looking for chair for gaming or studying so for sitting in 1 static position all the time and i dont care about armrests bcs i wont use them anyways i probably care only about comfort and good posture and also i can buy the headrest fot leap from atlas the aeron headrest and i can mount it to my chair
This chair is less than half the price of the Aeron in the UK, but the mesh doesn't seem to be anywhere near the same, in terms of quality. I suppose it's a solid mesh chair for any folks looking to spend a lot less than £1000 on a new chair and a far better choice than the Secretcrap Titan.
Hey, I am probably missing something, but what is the difference between the EH Gen2 chair you've reviewed ~7 months ago and this one? My local dealer offers Gen2, but they couldn't provide information about a specific LE9ERG model. Is LE9ERG just another name for Gen2?
Should I get this or the leap v2 or the aeron fully loaded? One would be for my dad for his work office and the other would be for me. Particularly being used for gaming.
If you want a headrest...this is a solid option for sure! I think it's a viable alternative from both chairs, especially if you want something new and to be under the $1000 mark -Greg
@@PUNISHER2025I think Greg's favourite chair is still the Lamia (Leap with Amia's seat), and he definitely puts the EH Gen2 and Leap v2 above the Aeron. However, you have to try these out for yourself to see what suits you best, as comfort is way too subjective.
Nobody knows, yet I've been using it for several months. Definitely worth it! Only drawback were arm rests - had to unscrew them, as they were too forward and prevented be from being close enough to the desk. Also, notice the seating - it's not as meshed like the back rest.
I just tested this and disagree with most use cases. I can get as close as 2.5" to my stomach, with the arms then hitting the edge of the desk. Unless you want to sit so far into your desk that it is touching your stomach or very close to, this shouldn't be a problem for most people. The seat uses the same mesh and leather, but has a bit more padding to create a bit more softness, compared to the backrests. -Greg
well that depend - Im using ergohuman 2 elite pro i guess - UE, yes the armrest are kind long and my belly is about 12-15 cm away from the desk when armrest are touching the desk. IS it bad ? for me no since im using 32" screen and i prefer to seat further than closer to the screen My drawback is a lumbar support - it has to much force, even when set to lowest tension of the spring, thats why it pushes my seating instrument forward and i have to reposition myself quite often, yes the seating is not so comfy as normal sponge chairs but - i love the breathability, when outside temp is about 33C and your body is sweating is nothing fun. Me: 175cm of height, 68kg of weight Pros: Price Breathability Quality Cons: Lumbar support
Thanks for this guide. Would you recommend this chair as the best in its budget range ? Do you have a reco for 300-600 that would be more worse in term of efficienty/price ratio? Finally, any chance in to get a good chair with a reliable footrest? Many thanks
I don`t understand this: If i lean back and i want to use the mouse and keyboard how can i do that when armrest goes so high in the air, that i can`t reach nothing on desk?
A lot of these ergonomic chairs aren't designed for that use case. The Leap v2 is probably the only high-end chair I can think of that keeps the armrests perfectly flat upon reclining. Even the Aeron, despite having the best recline motion of any office chair ever made, does tilt the armrests ever so slightly upwards whilst reclining.
I just don't see how this could be better than an Embody or Aeron. Especially for bigger folks. I'm 5'10" 260lbs and feel like this just wouldn't last as long
I mean, it has a 10 year warranty, which is pretty nice. It's probably not going to be as robust as the Aeron, but then again, you get some extra ergonomic adjustments for less.
i have tested for almost a month the Ergohuman Gen2 (mesh) and the Gaming Embody. The Gen2 was a very nice chair overall but i had to return it because the lumbar support was too aggressive for me. It was ok with the reclining system unlocked, but, after locking it for 2 days straight it caused me severe pain in my lower back (even with the lumbar support at the lowest settings). Actually it felt better when the lumbar support spring mechanism was set at max settings (still too strong) because it didn't move much and that meant less pressure on the lower back. The things that made me choose the Gaming Embody over the EG2 was: the larger seat, the wider width range adjustment, flexible and narrower backrest, the comfier texture (EG2 mesh is quite itchy on the skin) and the warranty. For everything else the EG2 is equal or even better. Anyway i agree, great chair, especially for that price. PS: The embody its quite hot in a room over 28 °C.
Not recommended for gaming or just sitting in the 2 relaxed positions the chair has. Those chairs have a huge problem that no one talks about. I have the v1 chair for a few years and most of the time i use it in middle position. In that position the plastic between the lombar support and the upper part of the chair kills your back after sitting like that for some time. All chairs like this have same problem. If you stay in work position the plastic won't hurt you but in relaxed position 1 and 2 your back sits exactly on that plastic. I only saw one guy talk about this problem and was wondering why there is no talk about this. Maybe most of the people use this chair in work position and the problem won't appear.
That problem only existed in the Gen1 chairs with a mesh back. They have since changed the design to eliminate, which I did cover in the Gen2 ME7ERG review. Because of the way they added padding in the Gen1 leather chairs, your back could never reach that plastic between the upper back and lumbar support -Greg
@@btodtv I am saying exactly the oposite, my back "is staying on the plastic" on the gen1 but only in the relaxed positions. Padding has nothing to do with that problem as my back touches the plastic of the upper piece of the chair not the lombar protection part. Just try it, stay more on relaxed position, watch a movie or something. I am 180cm and 90Kg so maybe i am fatter but when you pay so much for a chair to be ergonomic you don't expect it to reck you back so bad.
@@Kirchert919 all chairs like this have same issue in the relaxed position. but suit yourself if you wanna buy one, just take note of what ive said in case youre a gamer.
Like Kirchert919 mentioned, this problem isn't relevant to the Gen2 LE9ERG chair, since it was never an issue on the Gen1 LE9ERG. The padding made it impossible to touch the plastic on the upper frame or lumbar frame. The only chairs that this would be relevant for is the Gen1 mesh back chairs. And since it's been fixed on the new Gen2 chairs, it goes to how they have fixed many problems from the Gen1 mesh back options -Greg
Arms moving with the back when reclining is a deal breaker for me. How shall I sit in a reclined position while still typing on my keyboard? I do not understand why so many companies chose this weird design
This would be frowned upon by any ergonomist. Reclining and attempting to use a keyboard and mouse on a flat surface causes a lot of strain on your wrists over time, regardless of the chair. This is why articulating keyboard trays are nice as they will change the angle you would use your keyboard and mouse to match the recline in the chair. This creates a neutral wrist angle and is much better long term. The reason chair companies do this is to avoid the nasty gap that is created with the arms don't move with the backrest. Having no armrest support with an awkward gap creates more complaints. -Greg
The EH is just so annoying to clean/de-dust with so many gaps and edges on the back that are not easily accessible. The new version looks slightly better, but still much more annoying compared to other chairs, because of the metal skeleton etc.
