Second wali theory sahi lag rahi hain jahan par most of what he says is a lie except jaha pe Sophie involved hai. As per me, Simi and Aakash had an affair, before he met Sophie. Later on when Sophie saw them both together, Aakash made up the whole story. Also there is a possibility that Simis husband was murdered by Aakash and Simi. THat could be one of the reason why Aakash left the country.

The dialogue "what is life ? It depends on the liver " shown at the beginning and spoken by the doctor later is the point in the movie where akash changes the story when he is narrating it to Sophie. Watch the movie again where the doctor says the dialogue for the first time. When he is driving the car and he says the dialogue,it is shown in the movie that he drives on and does not stop in between. And then the frame changes to Sophie where she says "Aur phir" . This time the doctor says the dialogue again and we see that simi starts banging the car and then doctor stops the car. Compare both the shot ,one in which the car goes on and on and the one where the doctor stops the car. These two shots are taken at the same place but in one the car stops and in the other it doesn't. This is the point in the story where akash narrates the story in such a way that he can gain sympathy from Sophie . The doctor and akash in reality killed simi and took her liver and are now living their life happily. Thus the dialogue was spoken by the doctor and shown at the beginning of the movie is justified. It can be confirmed as when sophie says that akash and the doctor should have killed simi and took her liver,Akash gives her a look and speaks nothing. This according to me is the actual explanation.

4th theory sounds perfect because there is only one case where Akash could see the rabbit (i.e.when he is not blind). He saw the rabbit since he was able to see with a single eye.

Its a good explanation - I believe the theory Ayushman had affair with Tabu and planned the murder of her husband. Even they killed the neighbour as she came to know only Ayushman was in the house - but while explaining to Radhika he made her feel he is innocent.
Also during the interrogation, cop finds that these two have murdered the husband so he plans to blackmail them. Then Ayushman and Tabu try flee from the country by cooking the story of Tabu suicide and Ayushman absconding. But cop will find the whereabouts, with no others choice they will murder him as well before escaping to other country.
Yes, wherever Radhika is present it's real - in one scene she says "dono bhag gaye". One more to prove that when Tabu know that he is also sleeping with Radhika with the jealous she come to check on them and try to confirm with her "boyfriend" in the restaurant. That's why Ayushman will be very tensed in that scene and even Radhika would notice too.
Next day just to prove his love to Tabu, he will sleep with her also he would want Radhika to know the truth about him and Tabu so he calls her to tell her about them but by the time she arrives, he would be totally drunk and wouldn't be able to convey to her.
At the end, Tabu and Ayushman would be spending their life in Europe. Also whenever Ayushman was confronted by Radhika, like always he proved that he is innocent and got sympathy from her.
Two things to notice in the beginning of the movie
1. What is life? It depends on liver- it's a double meaning (search in google)
Answer -
In this sentence, the word ‘liver’ has been used in double meaning- the physical organ LIVER and the person who lives.
That means Tabu lives.
2. Rabbit scene - there is a meaning behind it to.
Answer - They not only show the rabbit but a person following the rabbit trial to kill it - that person is represented as the audience. That means we are also following the rabbit trail - meaning
Rabbit trails go here, there, and everywhere, and pretty much tend to lead nowhere. (Have you ever watched a dog sniff out a rabbit trail? It wanders in small then wider circles, around and around, feverishly looking for the rabbit - literally, a meal and, figuratively, the point of one's argument.) No one knows what's at the end of a rabbit trail (the point of one's argument). Is there even an end to it? It's a confusing maze of pointless leads. In short, a rabbit trail leads (us) nowhere. It serves only to confuse the prey/the reader. It keeps them preoccupied and confused.
Your analysis seems actually true ...I was also thinking why would they show only rabbit and not any other animal ....now I got the answer.

Radhika Apte saw the video which was shown to audience.. that Ayushman is working in the kitchen and he is not blind. because when she meets tabu inside she tells her that " ye andha nahi hai mujhevi aavi pata chala" .. so it cant be true that tabu and ayushman already had an affair..
and at last part when a white girl brings ayushman's stick with rabbit 🐰 head.. and asks him "Sir is that yours?" Ayushman says "Yeah" just by looking at the stick.. without even touching it. ultimately it proves again that he is not blind 😁

This was the most confusing moving ending I have ever seen yet.
My 5th theory is that this whole movie explained by Aakash to Sophie is true.....
bcoz in the movie when murli died in hospital nurse told Maushi that "u can donate his organs for money"and then sin cut....
now coming to the end after tabu died in car crash bcoz of rabbit.. according to my theory....
Aakash went to Maushi and then Aakash with the help of Maushi Aakash takes murlis eyes for him and both sells murlis organs for money....after taking money Aakash goes to London... happy ending..
This theory of mine is also true bcoz of one more reason....

Ayusman recovered from blindness automatically because tabu didnt used a fullproof process of blinding him. We saw ayusman recovering at the scene when everyone was sleeping in the hospital after they agreed they will help ayusman manipulate tabu. Ayusman opened his eyes and smile. He realized he can see again and fall asleep again.

Your third explanation fits the bill. Considering the first dialogue, it seems plausible that Akash is fabricating a superb story which revolves around how he reached Europe, also considering the presence of Sophie in all those events.
You may be right when you say that all scenes involving Sophie are true, however all the other scenes may be false. Thus, If we consider all the other scenes as false, then we can make any conclusion out of the remaining film, the underlying factor being that Akash finally is living his life in Europe as he wanted.. and that he is not blind.
After hearing your theory, I now salute the ingenious manner in which the film has been made. Kudos to the film makers.

If your 4th theory is right , then Aakash had so many chances to escape from death (literally) like when
1) Inspector Manohar tries to kill him in his house , after Simi asked him to do so , then there why he was still acting blind! where he knows that if he continues acting blind , he can lose his life and its shown before that when its the matter of his life , he stops acting blind ( When Simi threatens him with a Gun )
2) When Murali ties Aakash and Simi in that storeroom ,after which Simi frees Aakash and then she tries to kill him , then why he was still acting blind ! There he had a genuine chance to run away from there and save his life from her
Akash got Murli's eyes and got financial help by Mausi. Liver might mean "one who lives."

According to me, 3rd theory seems impressive, but it can not be true. Remember, that day before Simi came to Akash's house, Akash called Sophie and told her to come. Sophie didn't come to Akash's house by chance. It was Akhash who called her. So why would he call Sophie and make a relation with Simi at the same time?
And obviously there was a third man in the day of Promod Sinha's murder. The old lady also told police about her and got murdered, right?
I agree with first and 4th theory. 1) Either Akash told lie to Sophie about accident and rabbit only. He did accept doctor's offer that day.
2) Or it is also possible that Akash did not got blind by Simi that day! May be the story of Doctor, mausi and murli is also bogus! May be Akash himself kidnapped Simi later, as Simi became a threat for him. Later may be somehow he killed her or sold her organ and got money from there .... or may be he didn't killed her, pressurised Simi in such a way that Simi herself gave the money... Only the director knows! LOL!

After watching this ending explained video, it feels like Andhadhun was the most perfect combo of Inception and The Usual Suspects. I would agree with Aayushman and Tabu's affair story. But, every single of your explanations make sense with some consistency.

Sir, good work. But in 4th explanation you told that he was half blind. But when Simmi hits him with stick and she was about to kill him why he did not defends himself if he could see with one eye.
The rabbit comes in the beginning of the movie too, if I remember right. That, ideally, should imply that the rabbit existed and was not made up, that's my thinking
His only one eye was damaged in his childhood due to cricket ball that he was telling his both eyes was damaged but only one eye was damaged😂😂

I feel third version is the correct one, because Simi was present there and he can't fake that, so I think both akash and tabu murdered her husband and were having affair, so akash just created the rest of the story just to make sure she has a soft corner for him

Arey! Ye murli ke wajah se aakhe mili hai...woh jabh nurse maushi ko bolti hai ki aapko donate karna hai kya organs.....
Akash was never blind neither before nor after . yes the whole story was made up but the parts where radhike was present were true. Akash just included those in his story to make it relevant , yes he always acted to be blind and radhike also met him wearing shades and holding a stick , he really had wish to gain sympathy of people . Akash had an affair with Tabu even before Radhike.So when Promod told Tabu that he would be going to Bangalore she planned of calling Akash home and coincidentally Promod invited him 1 oclock for private piano play and it has to be true cause Radhike was present there and she heard promod saying 1clock but Akash kept it a secret from Radhike. So where Akash said that tabu was with an inspector in room it was actually Akash himself and for surprising Tabu when Promod suddenly comes in and finds Akash and Tabu together then Akash and Tabu murders him . There was no inspector that Akash talked about .Then we see Akash playing piano and tabu comes and talkes to Radhike which is true cause Radhike was present and Tabu actually asks whether he was her boyfriend as she doubted Akash of having an affair with her. She conforms that and we could see that Akash gets a little nervous cause he thought Tabu will tell her the truth that he was Tabus Boyfriend. Then Akash starts oddly behaving with Radike cause of the murder and affair with Tabu . Afer that Radhike comes to meet Akash in real and finds out Tabu in Akash room which was true that is Akash was actually spending time with her which he again made up and said that it was Tabus trap. After that Akash actually calls up Radike and tries to convince her that it was fake just to not loose her.after that Radhike wasnt present in any scene thats means the rest are totally made up and Tabu was never dead . They probably managed to collect money together and were settled in Europe happily with Akash again fooling aroung people to gain sympathy .

actually u are right...The 4th theory is correct...the film focuses on one eye many times...and the last scene of thowing the can aside by his stick proves that he was not blind!

I think 3rd explanation is more accurate than others. Simmi had an affair with Akash and they killed Pramod and the rest of characters Police officer,Murli,Mass and Doctor are fake. Akash told Sophie a made up story...and 4th explanation also has some chances but there are some loose ends and creates ques.

Now about the movie:
Y’ll have missed the big picture. The small scene of rabbit indicates the entire over-deal of Akash in the movie. Akash escapes his tribulation just as that rabbit fleas from the hunter. Also, the rabbit was partially blind indicating Akash too was partially blind and he could see partially from his right eyes. Rabbit story was geniously built up by Akash, that comes from his walking stick, to frame himself as an innocent chap seeking major sympathy from people, especially from Sophie.

Though the first theory seems true but one possibility could be the rich farmer or the hunter who was hunting the rabbit had helped Akash to get his vision back ...in return he had asked to Akash to hide that accidental murder.

I think he was never totally a blind person so 4th theory is correct.
What if he could have taken the eyes of Murli after his death which were donated by Sakku.
The first theory is correct. Even the director has recently said so. Just check the scenes again. The car with Akash and the doctor goes on the road throughout, passing the tree and the small creamish house on the left. Then, suddenly we come 2 years later in Europe and he continues the story. This time, the car stops just near the exact same tree and the exact house is also seen. This time, the car doesn't pass the tree completely as shown earlier. This means that there is inconsistency in the story at that moment and he started telling a false one from that point. It vanishes the other theories because if the story was completely manipulated from the beginning, such an error wouldn't have happened .

I have another theory though it's bit absurd.
Presuming Akash was innocent, It's possible that he was only partially blind as you stated.Or that somehow ' manohar' eyes were donated to him.We never exactly saw the condition of inspectors corpse. Akash later feigned blindness and pleaded to spare Simi life to ' Swami' hoping that she will show mercy on him. The accident indeed took place and later he designed his staff with the rabbit's head as a gratitude. He didn't budge as he was shocked by her counterattack after 'letting him go'.
Reminds me of Dilip Prabhavalkar's old Marathi movie Ratra Aarambha. Where the entire movie was the imagination of the blind lead actor.

Firstly those who say tabbu and ayushman had an affair.did u guys remember ayushman call radhika to help him.if he just wants money and leave the country,then why would he ask her for help.he would just use her to kill pramod.which he did.she was not involved with the police too.in no case she would help him.later they meet in the end and have a chat.

movie starts with "Bahuth lambi kahanii hai,coffee?"yup its true that ayushman narrated the whole story.it does not mean ki he narrated the whole story wrong.he dint expect radhika in europe.when she asked,he was like its actually very long.becoz she dint knew anything.AND THE MAIN REASON IS HE TOOK A PAUSE IN BETWEEN.if u guys say he lied everything he said,before the pause he covered 90% of the story.he never stopped then.if he was that clear then why he would stop in between.now its clear that he stopped ,take few sips and narrated a made up one looking at his stick(which had a rabbit on its top).

1)vehicle clearly moved ahead of the curved tree in his first part of the narration.and in second part it did not.
2)how could he see a rabbit.
3)what is life?it depends on liver.this means the new life he got in europe depended on the liver of tabbu.which he sold and got this new life.
4)he said he came to europe with the help of his friend.that friend was none other than the doctor who gave him money,becoz he clearly said he had no friends to radhika before.
5)she says wapas kyu nahi aaye.becoz he went with the doctor to rescue sheikh"s daughter.
6)he stood on the middle of the road hearing a vehicle approaching towards him.whereas before while escaping from the policemen,he dint do that.
later when she says tumhe to le leni chahiye thi uski aanke.here the director tried to prove that tabbu deserved that kind of treatment.before ayushman himself said tumhara cornea agar match hua to mein le lunga.how in the second part he was trying to protect tabbu.
BY THIS I CONCLUDE THAT THE SECOND PART WAS A FAKE ONE TO GAIN SYMPATHY FROM RADHIKA.AS HE LIKES THAT.WHY WOULD HE REVEAL HIS TRUTH AS HE DID NOT IN THE PAST.HE WANTS TO LIVE THAT KIND OF LIFE.

I wonder how ayushman's character made up the whole story in just a short period of time in order to build trust in sofie's mind again or I guess he knew all the time that I might/possibly have an interaction with her in the future and will tell the exact same story (probably fabricated) in which sofie was not present ! Rest I think he was involved with Simi and together they plotted this whole game plan to fool the media :')
