  • Lots of sun and snow in this video, as mighty QJs haul their freight over Jing Peng Pass. We start at Galadesitai with a double-headed eastbound freight rolling in, crossing a single QJ on a westbound. A couple more trains around Reshui, then to the western side of the pass. We spend the whole day in Happy Valley viewing the continuous procession of double-headed QJs climbing the pass. What a show!

    -31? Why aren't the engineers pre heating the cylinders?

    • @steamfreak
      @steamfreak  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +sabeth17 Not sure. Some of the procedures seemed strange me. Like having mechanical stokers but having two firemen hand fitting the loco...

    • @sabeth17
      @sabeth17 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, people and their well being mean nothing in China. More people die every YEAR in Chinese coal mines than have died here since coal was discovered in the US. A fireman works so cheap it's easier to use a man than to install and use a mechanical stoker.

  • @Randolph1233
    @Randolph1233 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Think of the coal mines in China- the gulags, the sweat and toil required to supply coal for one journey.

    • @steamfreak
      @steamfreak  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Martin J it would have been hard, brutal and dangerous work in those mines worth poor safety precautions.

      Yeah give her a Frisco 3-chime.......if the 1522 won't be returned to service the least anyone can do is let a replica of the 1522's whistle be mounted to the 7081.

    - 31 GRADE Celsius !? motorul cu abur merge fara probleme = 7:13
    La submarinele din al doilea razboi mondial existau filtre pt aer ca si cele de la mastile de gaze dar majoritatea celor care au lucrat cativa ani in submarine , sau imbolnavit de boli de plamani dupa ce ar renuntat la armata , si au murit prematur . Probabil si mecanicii de locomotive cu abur au speranta de viata scurta !?
