  • Being left out by fans and media is one thing, but being left by your direct competition is another.
In this video let’s discuss everything that led to Kendrick Lamar “crashing out”.

      He’s not an industry plant.
That term isn’t applicable to him at all even if his music hasn’t resonated with me for over a decade.
He wasn’t planted by the industry but he was tended to, cultivated and protected by the industry because of how marketable he is.
He’s palatable, inoffensive, apolitical, and easily able to navigate through different spaces in the industry with ease which makes him very lucrative.
He can do pop, rap, R&B, and their various branching off points.
I do agree he couldn’t do “conscious” rap though, he doesn’t have the shared cultural experiences or backgrounds to speak on the marginalized and he also hasn’t grown as a person for damn near 2 decades so his ability to expound of his very narrow viewpoint has likely been exhausted by now.

@@pristinedecision1877 ok your point is just semantics, he may not have been “planted” by the industry but it’s obvious Drake’s been propped up and pushed by the industry for well over a decade. capitalism LOVES picking and choosing winners then presenting them as ‘what the people want’, while they crush any meaningful competition that might devalue their ‘product’
Drake has been the industry’s #1 product, as well as Trojan Horse, to take control from artists and give it to executives… and Drake has been all too happy to act as such, as long as he gets *HIS* bag, for a very long time

Only thing is Cole pretends to be chiller than he actually is. I'm not sure if its because he genuinely does want to keep a lane open into being cool with Kendrick or if he's just being fake but they've been going back and forth subliminally since like 2016. All that being friends with Drake stuff was absolutely a calculated move to push Kendrick to the bottom of the big three.

My personal take: I do believe JCole was throwing shots at Kendrick on First Person Shooter and his feat with Benny The Butchers "Johnny P's Caddy".. However, as a big JCole fan myself, I had no idea he was throwing shots.. And I'm 100 percent sure 99 percent of us listeners didn't either.. I say this because when those songs dropped, no one was talking about JCole throwing shots.. This takes me to his verse in "Middle Child" where he says if he was going to diss somebody, he wouldn't do it for fame or clout.. Meaning if he was throwing shots, it would be for the "in the know".. Meaning whoever he was dissing, only that person and a select few would have caught it...
