I never can understand why there are so few comments to every channel that talks about the benefits and science behind keto for mental illness. Thank you for doing what you do and may the movement grow quickly!😊

Great informative and positive interview....have empathy for the MD's....we were simply NOT taught much of this nutrition science years ago....so many of us are learning this stuff as we go...retired pathologist / musician here ;) Thanks for interview! 🙏 (I just read about 5 books on metabolic health...fascinating! )

If professionals feel that there's not enough info put there, how do you think "we" patients feel.
WE are out here "winging it" with ketogenic lifestyle & our lives. Trying to keep the ketones between 1.5mmol-3mmol is easy at first, but after a year, it gets harder to maintain. With extreme stingyness of info on how to manipulate the ketones to stay in range. (Cuz most humans are only concerned with their weight)
'Psychiatricly Challenged' humans need a dedicated video to help us, without charging for the info.
Thank you for sharing your info ❤

As a young mother, I had some of this information but no Support no tribe. Now as a great grandmother, I see a problems my grandchildren are having and friends. I wished there had been this kind of media and help Support when I was a young mother. I now do the best I can but it is not enough. Thank you for sharing all.

Yes, it is tough to watch grandchildren malnourished by carbs and sugar. The life long dental malformations, braces, and poor face structure is so sad. We have watched this happen in real life. The mental and behavior problems and the blame heaped on the children for misbehavior caused by sugar and a poor diet is even more distressing. Almost any suggestion to the parents, at least in our situation, is met with lots of resistance.

Hi, I love this conversation. Just starting medical keto to help my severe ocd. Does nicole have a trace mineral she reccomends?

A very compelling and informative discussion. It is not surprising that you lacked motivation when you were dosed up on pain relieving medication. Could it be that the Keto diet and the consumption of high fat foods leads to an increase in the amino acids tyrosine and tryptophan which has been shown to elevate mood and reward anticipation? ( study by Soyoung Park, Lubeck University )

Thank you, a really fascinating talk! I have a question: is there some overview available of what the functional ranges for optimal blood work would be as opposed to the standard laboratory ones?

Hi @karolinahudyma1383 - we passed your question along to Nicole, and this is her reply:
Not that I am aware of although that would handy! There are some functional blood chem softwares that provide this and analyze bloodwork and patterns. I like OptimalDX but their cardiometabolic feedback is not calibrated to low carb with higher total cholesterol numbers.
There is book by Dicken Weatherby on functional blood chem analysis that is a classic! They can find it on Amazon.

Dr. Ken Berry and Kim Howerton wrote a blood test book that includes optimal levels of various blood tests. “Commonsense Labs”.

The main question for me is: Why is there this energy problem in the brain? Where does it come from?
Ok, we can sidestep the Glc problem by using ketones, but the interesting question would be: Why is there a Glc problem in the beginning?

As a holistic nutritionist I was looking to get into more ketogenic therapies to help people. I looked into Georgia Ede's program but it is quite expensive for what is offered and you don't even get to keep the videos, only 90 days. Kind of disappointing.

Just wondering if you are pretty overweight is it necessary to take fat?
What I mean if you eat fat when you are carrying fat will that not stop the fat stores from releasing. Example I take heavy cream in coffee i eat fatty lamb with garlic butter. On the Keto strip my colour would be purple. I reduced the butter fat because I was not shifting the pounds. On saying that I am gainging muscle. The strips are now pink . i continue after four weeks to eat mostly meat but I cant seem to move the scales under 72 kg.
It is so frustraing. Do you have any advice? I am lucky that I can live with a garnish of veg .Acidic food trigger heartburn even lemon water.
Learned to my cost carbonated water gives me wind and reflux.I would value your advice re the eating more fat or less. I am omad most days.
I enjoyed this video as my Doctor is pretty clueless about nutrition.
I think I was dumping a lot of ketones in my urine. I take a magnesium supplement but thats about all.

I think anyway that’s supposed to help fat loss. Weight is more hormonal or regulated so it’s more about what impacts that I think anyway. Sometimes I’ve heard some if they lower calories a little some it helps their metabolism catch up but any kind of starvation or low calorie diet is bad. And there may other things other than lowering calories a little that would help most likely more from certain foods and supplements to rebounding or high intensity interval training if your body isn’t heavily stressed may want to be carful with too much exercise then with some conditions or if you have bad recovery like bad sleep or nutrition or some other things.
Though yeah actually if you have like a ton of pure fat I think maybe it can impact that. Berg has some videos on it. But there could be other things also blocking fat burning.

I believe it was Chris Palmer who said that someone with more body fat should do less fat in the keto diet than someone with normal weight. The reason being your body has more fat stored to convert into ketones. You don't need extra fat in the diet to make the ketones you need.

There are a lot of people on keto and carnivore diet that really push fat. My weight wasn’t moving down the scale very fast, and I came across a couple who are experts in keto. They said that if you have excess fat on your body, and you eat extra fat, your body is not going to burn its own fat stores. It will burn the fat that you were putting into it and you will remain overweight. I don’t think it’s a good idea to eat excess fat.

Now if ALL these smart people will abandon the philosophy of evolution and realize that evolution is not scientific (not supported by evidence), they will be complete. Dr Ede is a great thinker but has sadly fallen to the lies of evolution. I hope all these truth seekers will accept the Truth.
