Broly has only been trained by his father who is loads weaker than him, also he hasn't had proper water, food, etc for his body to work with. if whis trained Broly then it'd probably take a short amount of time for Broly to surpass jiren.

I’ve never seen a more concise and articulate explanation of just what kind of beast Jiren actually is, seriously. People way underestimate Jiren just because he only appeared for one arc and has since not been shown again. People always come to Beerus’s defense with statements like “wae hAveNt sEeN HIs fULl pOwER”. His full power doesn’t really matter when someone like Whis (which washes Beerus easily) makes a statement that gives a pretty good idea of how strong Beerus really is
I mean, I've never really doubted Jiren's power, I just think he's the worst Mary Sue that DB has ever produced. Moreover, he lives up to the label by virtue of being so incredibly boring and one dimensional. The irony is that Broly has the potential to be a very similar character in that regard, however he actually has a very compelling story and character arc in comparison, which makes him far more interesting and likable as a character despite being so broken that he could easily catch up and surpass any benchmark character in the franchise with comparatively little effort.

That's because jiren threw an energy blasts at frieza plus Jiren needed to finish off frieza as the Top was ending soon where as broly was in blind rage. Anyone else love Broly and Jiren ? They both are super busted and you don't have to hate on Broly just because you like Jiren or vice-versa , Broly being a legendary saiyan has insane adapting powers but can't control it which makes his power arguably the most destructive in the entire serires , while as Jiren has perfect spirit control and Ki control and all that power in reserves , like Broly / Goku need a trigger to reach thier max form (Ui / Lssj) while as Jiren has all that power ready , he can tap into it whenever he wants , he can literally enter a form that rivals MUI . Nonetheless i hope that after the Moro arc , they give us Broly and Jiren fanservice and also Vegeta going to U6 to planet sadala .

I feel like most of the time when people bring up Broly in vs battles they kind of ignore how fast he went from like, near raditz tier to stomping goku and vegeta until they ran away so he could bully gold frieza for an hour. Beerus would beat broly. Born only is he more composed and much more skilled, but he is ruthless too. He would go for the kill/ hakai. Also we genuinely don’t know Beerus’ full power. We only have an assumption from goku which could be true or not. Beerus however does have a form of ultra instinct too. He managed to take on all the other gods of destruction for a short while. He’d definitely beat Broly as they both are currently although it’s highly likely he will surpass him as will goku and vegeta. Goku technically did when he mastered ultra instinct. One other thing people fail to realize is that Jiren is going to be training even harder after the Tournament of Power because he wants to fight Goku again. Jiren could possibly even start training with his Angel (Marcarita) to attain God Ki and possibly even Ultra Instinct. While Broly will probably take a Year at least to control his rage and learn how to transform at will.

While I agree with your overall conclusion, I have a different interpretation to the 'lightly exercises his power' line regarding Jiren. I don't think they meant that while lightly exercising his power he surpasses the gods of destruction. What I think they meant was that his full known power surpasses the gods of destruction, and that while fighting SSB Goku, that's Jiren lightly exercising his power, ie: half-assing it because Goku hasn't shown himself to be worth the effort.
You know what the most insane thing is about these two? Neither of them have god ki, they both have regular power that can be felt by anyone who can sense ki signatures, which means that if either of these two were to attain just god ki, it would make them near unstoppable, more so than they already are.

According to the magazine’s scaling, Beerus thinks it’s possible UI Goku is above him, but base Jiren is above Belmod. So Beerus > Belmod according to the magazine’s interpretation._ _3:34__ We probably shouldn’t use this either. Due to the simple fact they are describing the episode inaccurately. Hence they said Jiren cracks a smile and then throws punches at Goku. I have no issue with that. I think it’s more so a feat at the end of the episode since like the Gods and the others state that Jiren’s power were going crush them. 10:37- 12:45 Well we know that Broly being the strongest line is contradict if it’s unsure if he is stronger than Beerus so all it’s doing is trying to make a statement based off a question which just doesn’t work. If Gogeta didn't have to worry about the fusion time limit, he likely would have dragged it out long enough for Broly to catch up - that's why he waited so long to use SSB. You can deny it all you want, but given enough time Broly absolutely could have caught up. That was literally one of his defining character traits in the movie. So, yeah, not at the level he was, but considering how much his power grew and adapted over the course of a 1.5-2hr fight, he likely would have only needed an extra hour at most to do so.
Even if broly was more powerful than Jiren (he isn't). Jiren is wayyyyy more skilled and experienced, he went toe to toe with mf ultra instinct which is considered the ultimate technique. He also saw through hit's dimention warp thing.

Yeah there's no question that Jiren greatly outclasses Broly in power. Where Broly wins is that he has more stamina and can last in longer fights than what we saw Jiren do with an equal opponent or an opponent stronger than himself. I think this fight really comes down to whether Jiren takes broly out before Broly starts to catch up on how he fights and starts matching him. Broly would have one hell of a wall to climb but I could see it happening in the right circumstances. Not every fight can be won with pure power alone. Jiren sat around for like 40 minutes before tiring out almost completely within the final minutes of the tournament where Broly fought both Vegeta and Goku before they went to fuse and failed it twice. Broly was rampaging in his super saiyan state for at minimum an hour from Goku and Vegeta failing the fusion dance twice. This is still one hell of a good feat for frieza to survive all that. People greatly underestimate how much Frieza can actually take.
It means that this movie is to sell to people to believe the power scaling. Jiren energy made golden frieza revert to normal. Broly rekt frieza for 1 hour . Golden one.
As someone that was never a fan of Jiren, I hate to agree with this, but I really can't fault any part of your reasoning here. That said, I think Broly's greatest strength is that he can can grow his power during a fight faster than anyone else in the franchise. So, if he and Jiren did some intense training together, I think that Broly could catch up to Jiren's max power quicker than Jiren could grow his. At that point, Broly would easily be the top mortal in the Multiverse, and possibly the strongest being period with enough Angel training. But, as you said, that would require a mastery over his rage that he currently lacks.

I think what the fight comes down to is Broly’s potential versus Jiren’s power. Broly starts out at below base level Vegeta, and through fighting (not even training) over the course of roughly 1.5 hours, he gets up to abt base/ssj gogeta, which is a HUGE power boost given the circumstances. Meanwhile, Jiren, from start to finish, is stronger than everybody, but only powers up in his awakened form at the very end of the TOP. We see him get stronger, sure, but not nearly as much as we see Broly grow in the movie. I think if Jiren takes it seriously from the start, he destroys Broly, but if he does what he did in the tournament and holds back his full power until he needs to use it (and allows Broly to get stronger and stronger during the fight), then I think it’s fair to say he has a chance of getting outclassed by Broly, especially considering Broly accessed new transformations in the middle of battle, and could very well get full power ssj2 or above during the fight. Feel free to tell me what you guys think, I’ve had this thought brewing since the movie came out
Gerald Tyler he has to though. That’s what fans don’t understand. Every villain after Broly will be much stronger than him. I think the only person that has a limitless power is Jiren and Moro. Jiren was titled the strongest mortal for a reason. The Angels even know of him. And he was pretty much chosen to be god of destruction but declined the offer because he didn’t like what comes with that title and he wants to be a hero that saves people.

I’ve never seen a more concise and articulate explanation of just what kind of beast Jiren actually is, seriously. People way underestimate Jiren just because he only appeared for one arc and has since not been shown again. People always come to Beerus’s defense with statements like “wae hAveNt sEeN HIs fULl pOwER”. His full power doesn’t really matter when someone like Whis (which washes Beerus easily) makes a statement that gives a pretty good idea of how strong Beerus really is
I mean, I've never really doubted Jiren's power, I just think he's the worst Mary Sue that DB has ever produced. Moreover, he lives up to the label by virtue of being so incredibly boring and one dimensional. The irony is that Broly has the potential to be a very similar character in that regard, however he actually has a very compelling story and character arc in comparison, which makes him far more interesting and likable as a character despite being so broken that he could easily catch up and surpass any benchmark character in the franchise with comparatively little effort.

Anyone else love Broly and Jiren ? They both are super busted and you don't have to hate on Broly just because you like Jiren or vice-versa , Broly being a legendary saiyan has insane adapting powers but can't control it which makes his power arguably the most destructive in the entire serires , while as Jiren has perfect spirit control and Ki control and all that power in reserves , like Broly / Goku need a trigger to reach thier max form (Ui / Lssj) while as Jiren has all that power ready , he can tap into it whenever he wants , he can literally enter a form that rivals MUI . Nonetheless i hope that after the Moro arc , they give us Broly and Jiren fanservice and also Vegeta going to U6 to planet sadala .

Beerus would beat broly. Born only is he more composed and much more skilled, but he is ruthless too. He would go for the kill/ hakai. Also we genuinely don’t know Beerus’ full power. We only have an assumption from goku which could be true or not. Beerus however does have a form of ultra instinct too. He managed to take on all the other gods of destruction for a short while. He’d definitely beat Broly as they both are currently although it’s highly likely he will surpass him as will goku and vegeta. Goku technically did when he mastered ultra instinct. I hope goku and Beerus and vegeta and Beerus have a rematch to show the gap they’ve filled. Maybe broly will one day show off against him

One other thing people fail to realize is that Jiren is going to be training even harder after the Tournament of Power because he wants to fight Goku again. Jiren could possibly even start training with his Angel (Marcarita) to attain God Ki and possibly even Ultra Instinct. While Broly will probably take a Year at least to control his rage and learn how to transform at will.

you say that last part as if it's really an issue. The hyperbolic time chamber exists and whis literally has the exact same thing inside his staff. Whis is also the only angel that managed to teach a mortal UI as far as we know so his track record is better than hers. It’s nice to take in feats but when comparing characters from the same anime you have to take in statements. Goku literally states fusion is the ONLY CHANCE they have of beating Broly in just a ssj. While I agree with your overall conclusion, I have a different interpretation to the 'lightly exercises his power' line regarding Jiren. I don't think they meant that while lightly exercising his power he surpasses the gods of destruction. What I think they meant was that his full known power surpasses the gods of destruction, and that while fighting SSB Goku, that's Jiren lightly exercising his power, ie: half-assing it because Goku hasn't shown himself to be worth the effort.
You know what the most insane thing is about these two? Neither of them have god ki, they both have regular power that can be felt by anyone who can sense ki signatures, which means that if either of these two were to attain just god ki, it would make them near unstoppable, more so than they already are.

If Gogeta didn't have to worry about the fusion time limit, he likely would have dragged it out long enough for Broly to catch up - that's why he waited so long to use SSB. You can deny it all you want, but given enough time Broly absolutely could have caught up. That was literally one of his defining character traits in the movie. So, yeah, not at the level he was, but considering how much his power grew and adapted over the course of a 1.5-2hr fight, he likely would have only needed an extra hour at most to do so.
Even if broly was more powerful than Jiren (he isn't). Jiren is wayyyyy more skilled and experienced, he went toe to toe with mf ultra instinct which is considered the ultimate technique. He also saw through hit's dimention warp thing.

Yeah there's no question that Jiren greatly outclasses Broly in power. Where Broly wins is that he has more stamina and can last in longer fights than what we saw Jiren do with an equal opponent or an opponent stronger than himself. I think this fight really comes down to whether Jiren takes broly out before Broly starts to catch up on how he fights and starts matching him. Broly would have one hell of a wall to climb but I could see it happening in the right circumstances. Not every fight can be won with pure power alone. Jiren sat around for like 40 minutes before tiring out almost completely within the final minutes of the tournament where Broly fought both Vegeta and Goku before they went to fuse and failed it twice. Broly was rampaging in his super saiyan state for at minimum an hour from Goku and Vegeta failing the fusion dance twice. This is still one hell of a good feat for frieza to survive all that. People greatly underestimate how much Frieza can actually take.

As someone that was never a fan of Jiren, I hate to agree with this, but I really can't fault any part of your reasoning here. That said, I think Broly's greatest strength is that he can can grow his power during a fight faster than anyone else in the franchise. So, if he and Jiren did some intense training together, I think that Broly could catch up to Jiren's max power quicker than Jiren could grow his. At that point, Broly would easily be the top mortal in the Multiverse, and possibly the strongest being period with enough Angel training. But, as you said, that would require a mastery over his rage that he currently lacks.

I think what the fight comes down to is Broly’s potential versus Jiren’s power. Broly starts out at below base level Vegeta, and through fighting (not even training) over the course of roughly 1.5 hours, he gets up to abt base/ssj gogeta, which is a HUGE power boost given the circumstances. Meanwhile, Jiren, from start to finish, is stronger than everybody, but only powers up in his awakened form at the very end of the TOP. We see him get stronger, sure, but not nearly as much as we see Broly grow in the movie. I think if Jiren takes it seriously from the start, he destroys Broly, but if he does what he did in the tournament and holds back his full power until he needs to use it (and allows Broly to get stronger and stronger during the fight), then I think it’s fair to say he has a chance of getting outclassed by Broly, especially considering Broly accessed new transformations in the middle of battle, and could very well get full power ssj2 or above during the fight. Feel free to tell me what you guys think, I’ve had this thought brewing since the movie came out

For one I always factor in the fact that Broly adapts to his opponents strength and fighting skills as the fight goes on. And the only way to successfully defeat him is by having power farr beyond his level as demonstrated by Gogeta. Which I doubt Jiren has. While I think Awakened Jiren is stronger than Lssj Broly it’s only a slight difference imo. I think the fight ends with Broly winning. I think Jiren would hold that advantage shortly but as the fight goes on in the next few minutes the tides would turn against Jiren just like what happened against MUI.

Yes, Broly surpassed goku and vegeta in hours, what took them decades to do. That was Brolys first real fight. It won't take much for Broly to surpass to Jiren if he trains. The strongest you can claim broly is is stronger than beerus by an unknown amount, do you know who also surpasses beerus by an unknown amount, belmond also surpasses beerus by an unknown amount so saying 1 is stronger than the other would be headcanon, the same goes for full power jiren and blue gogeta you can say jiren surpasses belmond by more than gogeta surpasses broly and since MUI goku surpasses jiren a scaling chain you'd go like this MUI goku > FPJiren >=< Blue gogeta > Belmond >=< Broly > beerus.
