Matthew Ayling I grew up in the UK but live in Miami, I have a 2017 camaro ss convertible and love it .before that I had a 2014 camaro and it was super reliable. Chevy makes some great cars now
Shmee150 I am sure you understand it is not worth the money. buy the basic model. spend the extra 20 or so grand on upgrades and you will have 700 or so whp. the grand sport is kind of a rip off for some pretty add ons.
North Star Detail Look at Motor Trend's comparison test between the Grand Sport and the Carrera S. It absolutely isn't just an aesthetic difference. The car is much more composed, and legitimately offers a better driving experience according to a few outlets. Its handling is greatly improved over the Z06 and the base corvette, even if it doesn't have a power boost.
The great thing about cars like the Grand Sport, the Vantage GT8, the Cayman GT4 etc. is that they are not overpowered for their chassis, and that you can actually floor it for more than two seconds without being beyond every speed limit outside of the Autobahn.
Agree, and you also get a sound as good or better as the cars with ridiculous performance. This is why it annoys me when people say "only x power from a V8!" - you get the perfect amount of power *and* the V8 sound! Why must everything be about on paper stats?
A super car NOT at a super price. Definitely one of the most reliable, true 2 seaters around. Glad GM finally put some R&D money aside and made the Corvette a car that can run with Porsche, Lambos & Ferraris.
Tim I know you get a lot of negative comments but your videos are great with lots of variety and in depth reviews of each car you drive. I'm getting bored of other youtubers that just buy a car, wrap it, stick on a new exhaust, list out 5 things they love and hate, then a video on why they are selling, then videos about the hunt for a new car etc etc. You get the picture, yawn!! Your videos are great thanks for all your hard work!
For the people that have never been to The States, please do not assume by this poor choice of music that all corvette owners are hillbilly and country.
Dashaun Woody You know... living in GA I've ran into that stereotype more than once. But that said, the hillbilly corvette driver image isn't necessarily true. Not for the most part.
There's clearly something more to this than we knew, there's no intention to stereotype anything; the song just seemed cool for the location we bumped into by the logs! If there is a long-running internet thing about Corvettes and hillbillies then that is new to me and I can only apologies for the coincidence that has arisen.
Great review as usual! I appreciate your honesty, open minded approach to reviews, and habit for judging cars on their merit. Your perspective is greatly appreciated, and you make it obvious with every film that you're a true car lover. Thanks for working so hard to keep us informed and entertained!
Tim, thanks so much for the Corvette review. As someone in the states who loves the UK TH-camrs it's great to see a little homage to a Made in the USA chevy corvette. Great job and thanks. (Mike in Ohio)
Nice review, Shmee. As an American viewer, I'm afraid Corvette will always be fighting the perception in Europe that it is just a crappy plastic Chevy. It's no McLaren, but it's quite a car. The upcoming ZR1 will be epic.
Shmee150 Speaking of McLaren, you need to reserve a spot to drive the new C8 next year and its new MR layout (or whatever code the new model line will get). Maybe they will have both FR and MR Vettes in the future.
The 8th Generation Corvette will not come out next year but the all-new ZR1 most definitely will. It will feature active aerodynamic systems and will be the new king of the street and race circuit.
It's more than time around one track. The McLaren has a carbon tub, a super fast dual clutch transmission, active aero, and is just more of a supercar than a Vette. That's not a knock on the Corvette. I'm a huge Corvette fan and a former owner, but it's no McLaren. Maybe that's a good thing. There is a reason there are 500 675LTs in the world and 70,000+ C7 Corvettes. It's more accessible, but not nearly as special.
People can have thier opinions about the rev match paddles, but I love them on my 2017 Camaro SS. They are much more convenient than a button would be and they also help keep costs down so its a win, win. As far as the plastic parts mentioned, I applaud GM for cutting costs where it doesn't affect the driving experience and giving us a car that is more affordable to a wider range of people.
Well done Tim. I admire all the European Supercars, but as an American it was great to see you in a Corvette. What's next? Seeing you attending one of our baseball games? lol As to the Corvette, stay tuned to see what GM has up their sleeve for 2018 and 2019. You may decide to put a set of American wheels in your collection yet. FWIW, I love the rev matching, especially down shifting. We can all sound like Sterling Moss going into a twisty. Cheers.
Corvettes are a dime a dozen here in California, but still when one goes by you get whiplash. Such a head turning beast of a car, yet it's very civilized as a daily driver. Great review Scheme!
Nice review Tim, well except the music. 😂. I purchased a new 19 GS LT2 automatic for 61,200 US in Apr 2020. The value is already 10,000 more than I paid. ✌️
Here in the states, smart buyers buy these not only for the gas mileage (Up to 30 MPG,) and frankly on the track they are as fast as a Z06, because you can use ALL the power it makes where as the Z06 overpowers everything. One down side to the GS and the Z06, is they come from the factory with a LOT of Camber dialed in. That burns off the tires in 9000 miles. If you buy a GS or Z06, make sure the first thing you do is to have them re-calibrate the suspension alignment to bring the settings back to 0 on both front and back. Otherwise you will be buying tires all the time.
It's sad that the Corvette Grand Sport starts at €95k ($101k) when here in the states it starts at just over $65k. That means you guys are paying over $35k (~a Mustang GT w/perf pack) in shipping and import taxes. It makes sense why many Europeans question the value of the Corvette. Still I doubt there's anything that could beat this on the track for the price, despite the horrendous taxes.
newsflash- the Z06 isn't the "track weapon", the Grand Sport is. Ask any racer whether they want NA or forced induction from both a power delivery and heat soak/reliability standpoint. They'll all go NA without hesitation.
in europe, (atleast the part were i live, and i have alot of Americans around me) you don't see the new Corvettes as often as i (personally) would like, so i think in Europe they are out of place compared to the US and Canada
Where are you located? I know that in Italy, Switzerland and France I have rarely seen American cars. Here it's the Mustang that is over exposed, way way too many of them in my area!
I'm not american but I can say that they give you a real supercar for a little money...for all their cars: Challenger, Mustang, Camaro...V8 with plenty of horsepower and an amazing engine sound at the same price of Audi A4 or Bmw 3 series DIESEL!
Interesting that you mentioned they're 95,000 to 105,000 Euros over there. You can get Grand Sports for $67,000 and a Z06 for around $81,000 in the states. I understand it's more expensive for GM to bring the Corvettes to market in Europe, but that's quite a significant difference. I wouldn't expect them to cost you over 10% more.
Hello, thank you for another great review. I actually own a 2019 Grand Sport, and it is a tremendous performance value, and we love it. However, you mention 'ceramic brakes' at . This is not the case. The model you have in your review has the steel rotors. They are a two-piece design, and very high-performance, but not ceramic. Carbon ceramic rotors are a separate option, and quite expensive, too.
im in love with the corvette 😍 especially the new ones, they are gorgeous. i dont like the wheels that much tho, i would definetlly put aftermarket wheels on. but thats personal preference i guess
GREAT video! I recently purchased a 2019 Grand Sport and I also created a TH-cam channel to share my ownership experiences . Looking forward to seeing more content from you. I just subbed to your channel
That's just what you want us to think. Or not. Or maybe you are and want us to think you are not. Or maybe you are and want us to think you are so you can then say you aren't. hmmmmmm. Even if you were would you say so? Or not say so if you were wanting us to think you are but really aren't but actually were ben?
A manual gearbox, a naturally aspirated V8, an open roof, and a bright yellow paintjob - what's not to love about the new Corvette Grand Sport!
Why? Chevrolet is killing the game right now.
Matthew Ayling not really. At least not anymore. Now you have access to C7 GS, ZO6, Cameron ZL1 and Z28. Probably will get the upcoming ZR-1
Matthew Ayling I grew up in the UK but live in Miami, I have a 2017 camaro ss convertible and love it .before that I had a 2014 camaro and it was super reliable. Chevy makes some great cars now

YES! This ^
ArKritz84 It's all about modesty and restraint. Finding middle-ground is the most fun.
...and unlike the ZO6, you can put the power down in the Grand Sport w/o the car trying to intentionally kill you.
Tim, you should sell the Shmini, get an MX-5 and make it british. The clock is ticking: www.bbrgti.com/
Agree, and you also get a sound as good or better as the cars with ridiculous performance. This is why it annoys me when people say "only x power from a V8!" - you get the perfect amount of power *and* the V8 sound! Why must everything be about on paper stats?
You put a song about a Ford for the Chevrolet. That's blasphemy.
Darth Raider you noticed that too, huh? "A Mercury "?
Talk about brits being ignorant about US car history
A super car NOT at a super price. Definitely one of the most reliable, true 2 seaters around. Glad GM finally put some R&D money aside and made the Corvette a car that can run with Porsche, Lambos & Ferraris.

My pleasure, thank you very much for the super kind words!
20noups spot on
i agree, timm keeps his cars fo a good amount of time.
*tim
20noups couldn't have said it better!!!
For the people that have never been to The States, please do not assume by this poor choice of music that all corvette owners are hillbilly and country.
The music was actually well suited and tasteful in my opinion.
Also about the music the lyrics about a Mercury while the videos about a Corvette is really out of place.
Dashaun Woody You know... living in GA I've ran into that stereotype more than once. But that said, the hillbilly corvette driver image isn't necessarily true. Not for the most part.
Terry Price funny thing is I live in Atlanta,GA so I understand lol
There's clearly something more to this than we knew, there's no intention to stereotype anything; the song just seemed cool for the location we bumped into by the logs! If there is a long-running internet thing about Corvettes and hillbillies then that is new to me and I can only apologies for the coincidence that has arisen.
Very nice again Tim The New Corvette Grand Sport, thanks for sharing Shmee!
My most favorite C7 model of them all. Such a phenomenal machine.
Thanks, Shmee!
I enjoy watching SHMEE doing reviews. One of the better reviewers in my opinion. Also great to see the Vette is holding its own in Europe.
Great edit Tim!! looked awesome.
*EDITING SKILLS ON POINT TIM!*
Great review as usual! I appreciate your honesty, open minded approach to reviews, and habit for judging cars on their merit. Your perspective is greatly appreciated, and you make it obvious with every film that you're a true car lover. Thanks for working so hard to keep us informed and entertained!
Thank you for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it!
Shmee150 you're more than welcome! Best of luck with your future videos and whatever else you're working on.
Tim, thanks so much for the Corvette review. As someone in the states who loves the UK TH-camrs it's great to see a little homage to a Made in the USA chevy corvette. Great job and thanks. (Mike in Ohio)
Thanks for showing the USA sports car some love!
I have a 17 GS and don't have a single country song in my library.. good review overall
The editing is phenomenal! Amazing video shmee
THANKS, TIM AND CREW
Nice review, Shmee. As an American viewer, I'm afraid Corvette will always be fighting the perception in Europe that it is just a crappy plastic Chevy. It's no McLaren, but it's quite a car. The upcoming ZR1 will be epic.
It's also a fraction of the price of a McLaren
Shmee150 Speaking of McLaren, you need to reserve a spot to drive the new C8 next year and its new MR layout (or whatever code the new model line will get). Maybe they will have both FR and MR Vettes in the future.
You're right that it's no McLaren - it beats McLarens. Try looking up the results for Lightning Lap and see how many cars are behind this Grand Sport.
The 8th Generation Corvette will not come out next year but the all-new ZR1 most definitely will. It will feature active aerodynamic systems and will be the new king of the street and race circuit.

SHMEE FINALLY LISTENING TO HIS FANS AND ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS!!!
did hell freeze over?!?!?
Tehe, in which way?
Great video as always Schmee. Still can't wait to see your Ford GT
Mike will approve of this video.
street drive 420
Hey Shmee your Videos are very good thanks that you make every day so good and interesting Videos.
As an American country boy, I can appreciate the Alan Jackson and the car ;)
Music.on.point lol love your videos Shmee!!
Appreciated the cinematic works here Tim, add more slow motion on that handheld b rolling shots!
I have been waiting for a review like this on Grand Sport for so long. Thanks Shmee!
your dad called, he want's his jumper back. (only for the lulz) keep up the good work Tim!
People can have thier opinions about the rev match paddles, but I love them on my 2017 Camaro SS. As far as the plastic parts mentioned, I applaud GM for cutting costs where it doesn't affect the driving experience and giving us a car that is more affordable to a wider range of people.
This editing is different... Different is good. Love the revs as you pan across the exhausts
Well done Tim. I admire all the European Supercars, but as an American it was great to see you in a Corvette. What's next? Seeing you attending one of our baseball games? lol As to the Corvette, stay tuned to see what GM has up their sleeve for 2018 and 2019. I loved that initially walk around presentation of the car, especially with that song and those effect!! very very professional ;)
Shmee150, the only youtuber who cares for dogs not being offended by cars.
The coolest thing about the Grand Sports in they can be very easily tuned up for an additional 100 - 300 hp with almost little effort
It's a cool car and it sounds fantastic
Love the step up in video quality and music.
Great cinematography, and funny seeing Ben at 6:23
The editing was superb
hahaha the music!!!!! epic!!!! well done man
Please find some better music
Shmee just want to tell you that your gt8 is beautiful!
Thank you
Shmee150 sir plz upgrade your camera 🎥
Why would I upgrade the camera? :)
Shmee150 yeah upgrade your camera something like a 4K Sony camera would make the quality of your videos amazing!
Oscar Whittle he has a 4k Sony camera... 😉
Wow! She looks really great. This kinda Corvettes are pretty rare here.
nice editing shmee
Good mixture of silly & serious Tim !
Awesome video! Would love to see more about the PDR system. They should do some kind of track event where you can demo it
Watch this video th-cam.com/video/jQJVJ9jWfAg/w-d-xo.html from 10:30 onwards :)
Bought a new 2019 Corvette C7 Grand Sport with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, and it’s a phenomenal car. Buy one.
Finally a video worth watching
still enjoy the the great variety of cars you drive
shmee we are gonna hit a million very soon 😊😊
Corvettes are a dime a dozen here in California, but still when one goes by you get whiplash. Such a head turning beast of a car, yet it's very civilized as a daily driver. Great review Scheme!
Music fits the car perfectly good job on that
Nice review Tim, well except the music. 😂. I purchased a new 19 GS LT2 automatic for 61,200 US in Apr 2020. The value is already 10,000 more than I paid. ✌️
its amazing how that v8 sounds
It sounds so good! Nice to hear a NA V8 rather than a small/mid sized turbo charged V8.
Tim this car is really worth the money for the performance dont you think
Here in the states, smart buyers buy these not only for the gas mileage (Up to 30 MPG,) and frankly on the track they are as fast as a Z06, because you can use ALL the power it makes where as the Z06 overpowers everything. "You put the passenger there and they stay there" ha ha that's one of the funniest things you have said Tim.
Nice tunes Shmee150. I especially like the Alan Jackson remix.
Alan Jackson on a Shmee video just made my day😂😂😂
Shmee, I have a Porsche and the cup holders are plastic. I like the way the Grand Sport cup holders can be hidden away with the little door.
Shmee you got this wrong. This is the track weapon which is why it combines all the packages.
Hey Shmee. @ 14:43 you put the screen down. In the U.S, thats where we keep our handgun of choice :)
Jake Wallace or a stash
It's sad that the Corvette Grand Sport starts at €95k ($101k) when here in the states it starts at just over $65k. That means you guys are paying over $35k (~a Mustang GT w/perf pack) in shipping and import taxes. It makes sense why many Europeans question the value of the Corvette.

Nice editing!!!
Awesome video keep it up!
I was already admiring the sexy looks video segment, and then the tree wipe. Well done.
dope music in the editing!!!
As a Texan, I appreciate the song choice ;D
newsflash- the Z06 isn't the "track weapon", the Grand Sport is. Ask any racer whether they want NA or forced induction from both a power delivery and heat soak/reliability standpoint. They'll all go NA without hesitation.
Shmee, test drive the new Camaro ZL1, some people like it better than the Corvette!
Would love to at some point!
agreed Bill
Love the GS!
Yaaay I hope you buy one shmee ... cheers from Boston
The corvette's trunk is meant to fit two full-size golf bags😂😂😂
"This is a proper muscle car" Corvette is a sports car..nothing else
Music was a little on the stereotypical side, but good video nonetheless.
Raw Narwhal I agree being from Kentucky
I agree , i thought it was kinda funny
Mississippi here and I agree
Great video as usual. One thing, the camera tenda to rattle and the sound is quite annoying.
We changed the action camera set up and problem is now gone in future videos. :)
103k pounds base price? Geez! And I thought it was expensive in Canada at 76k CAD lol. I know they are very rare in the UK but still.
That's the Euros fully optioned price
oh ok, but still a tad pricey and we see too many Corvettes here. Maybe we can send a few across the pond :)
in europe, (atleast the part were i live, and i have alot of Americans around me) you don't see the new Corvettes as often as i (personally) would like, so i think in Europe they are out of place compared to the US and Canada
Where are you located? I know that in Italy, Switzerland and France I have rarely seen American cars. Here it's the Mustang that is over exposed, way way too many of them in my area!
PvMhijden I've seen a few new corvettes here in holland!
Hellooo
i like to have the front plate number
from where can i have like this plate for my C7
???? any one can help me
I'm not american but I can say that they give you a real supercar for a little money...for all their cars: Challenger, Mustang, Camaro...V8 with plenty of horsepower and an amazing engine sound at the same price of Audi A4 or Bmw 3 series DIESEL!
Music is awesome.
I actually got to sit in one the other day at a Chevy dealership along with a ‘63 Split Window Coupe
This would make a solid addition to your fleet.
Interesting that you mentioned they're 95,000 to 105,000 Euros over there. You can get Grand Sports for $67,000 and a Z06 for around $81,000 in the states. It is an awesome sportscar indeed!
That birds just owning hahaha
Good choice in music, you must know your America ;)
I still have no idea what those spikes are for in the front
Spent ~10 minutes customising a Grand Sport, net price ended up being 83060$. What a great price for a new sports car.
10/10 for the remix country murican music!
GREAT video! I recently purchased a 2019 Grand Sport and I also created a TH-cam channel to share my ownership experiences . Looking forward to seeing more content from you. I just subbed to your channel
Corvette? Ben must have been one happy man that day.
It is beautiful, love the video so far! However unexpected!
Damn shmee cinematics are on jww levels.
I can't be the only one that looked up what a 7 speed manual gear stick looked like haha.
any one else from the states thought the music was funny😂
SilentKiller kind of offensive actually lmfao
nahhh not offensive
Patrick M maybe to you it's not. But I am from Kentucky. So the hillbilly style music was kind of annoying
Patrick M ok we have different opinions . But I used to live in PA, specifically around Lancaster
Being from Idaho I I'm about 3/4 country and it was kinda funny but just a little anoying
Didn't know u did corvette reviews keep it up 😎👍
There are a few more ;)
i really like this car, its kinda sold me do you know if we are gonna be getting any in the UK for right hand drive in the near future @Shmee150
That editing though 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
