- people ask about projects like this all the time, simple stock vehicle with turbo attached, 500whp, neat to see a project like this even though it leaves you wanting to see more haha
That's the galaxy's hardest working 4l60e.
I think by 2011 they were making like 4l65e or something which im sure is better but still no 80

Not for long. First good launch its going neutral mode. I couldn't even keep one in a 2700 fox at 500hp.
I just got a 40k miles 2013 GMC Sierra crew cab 2wd and it's untouched. So I'm wanting to get one of these affordable turbo kits for sure.
Decaps stock injectors and reuses head gaskets...
Also concerned about non Deka injectors 🤣...

My dod is disabled for now, till I can afford a delete and upgrade kit, but I don't really trust a 275k 4l60e lol

I actually have Tre 80 lb injectors in my truck and my tuner was having a heck of a time getting it to idle at a good afr etc.. cold starts are super lean and hot it isles at like 12( this is pump gas 93). It jumps all over with the slightest throttle input. Tre doesn’t have great data I guess?

Only 5.3s and larger got the 6L80's
I have a 2017 with a 4.8, came with a 6l90

Nice but I'm not understanding the off set. That is extra leverage on the wheel bearings and wears the ball joints faster.
The hub face is probably only a tiny bit away from center of the wheel. Its probably just a 10 inch wide wheel.
How would this turbo set up doing for average towing and winter months in northern states?
Tre performance injectors work great. Kind of a steal for 250 bucks. My tre 60s are nearly maxed, about to step up to tre 80s

Learning......do they show a lot of knock do funny things when the burst knock is still enabled?
They should have ported the heads, upgrade the cam to a TSP stage 2 turbo cam, port the intake manifold and throttle body, upgrade the valvetrain and add some 3.73 gear and it would be an entirely different truck.
Of you leave all that alone put a billet 7875 on and do much better with capability of going to 800whp with all the hot garbage already installed
@@SloppyMechanics yeah just to throw it out there, my 2011 4.8L single 70mm ON3 turbo with a TSP stage 2 turbo cam made 650RWHP. I still have about 100HP I can squeeze out of my current injectors and fuel pump, but I'm happy with a mid 11 second extended cab truck. Lol

Quick question i got rid of the power enrichment limitations but did not change the stock PE EQ ratio. At its highest PE is commanding a 11.0 fuel air ( 1.33 multiplier). That seems WAY to rich for a stock truck am i right ? The truck has good power til the 3rd to 4th shift then it just goes stagnant and doesn't accelerate anymore. Is all that fuel drowning the engine ?

Which of VS's turbos would you recommend for this exact setup? I have a 2wd 2011 and only want ~500hp with quick light off but will still carry well to 6k rpm.
quick light off or high rpm? pick one.
@@littleherms3285 anything lighting off quick(sub 2500 rpm) is gonna be out of breath by 4800-5000 rpm. You can get something small and deal with a tapering off 5-6k rpm or something slightly bigger that'll make the full trip but turn on around 3000rpm.
@@Kincentc and, this is on a daily with full exhaust and a manifold that I will make so it can have a 50-60mm gate vs the standard 44mm to vent off more above 5k if the turbine gets overwhelmed. The compressor out of puff doesn't concern me as much as 500 is the most I want.
@@littleherms3285 well tbh 500 is small change for a motor that, with a decent cam, makes 360. The other 140 is easy to pick up. If you want street fun and 500 is the top end goal, I'd almost say just go screw charger instead

Yes I know they're stock but what castings are on that thing for heads? Great numbers on a 4.8 at low boost and low rpm. You know how 4.8s like to party at 7k+.
They should have been 243/799
The heads were most likely 799. I have the same year engine with the stock 799 heads, a TSP stage 2 turbo cam, VVT delete, 55lb injectors and a single 340LPH pump making 650RWHP conservatively with an ON3 single 70mm turbo. I still have room to squeeze another 100HP out of my current setup before maxing out the injectors and pump though.

@sloppymechanics I have a 2011 Silverado lc9 5.3l with a 78/75mm turbo 60lb injectors 320lph pump stock cam 3 bar map sensor and running 93octane the place I had tune and dyno it said anything above 6psi it threw an engine code so they tuned it on 6 psi it makes only 340hp to the tire I feel like it has more then that in it. Can you maybe let me know some info that will help me understand it more I feel they just want me to throw a cam and valve springs in it idk if I want to. I was expecting numbers in the 400s

Jake Kline I do have vvt where I think this truck doesn’t but they are able to run 12psi double what I am so that’s the difference
@@jacobkline920 any Gen 4 4.8L has VVT unless the owner had deleted it. The Gen 4 5.3L had DOD/AFM. This truck in the video has VVT seeing how it is all stock and there wasn't mention of the VVT delete and there was no cam change either. They basically just threw a turbo on a stock motor and went with it which the 4.8L is very capable of handling.

One the newer trucks does the DOD have to be deleted?
Yes but also the camshaft has to be replaced with a stock non-DOD cam or performance cam. As well as the lifters and springs.

What will the 7875 gen 2 do?
We scheduled to dyno and then the dyno building had a fire, the next week we scheduled to put it on my friends dyno and it spit the driveshaft and broke the trans... it looks like people are picking up 100-150whp over the limit of the gen1 but yes we will eventually get that comparison lol

lq4 motor 364 with heavy worked 317 heads, custom cam (.600 223/230 112 lsa) shorty bbk headers 1 3/4, tbss intake and electric fans. all on a 2001 chevy 2500 4x4 with the 4l80e. now you know that what turbo would be good???

Do you have a base map or tune for a 99 corvette a4 ,ss2 cam ,decaps ,340lph fuel pump ,3bar map,ls6 intake China boy turbo 7psi pump 93 ? I looked in tune cabinet but wasn't sure what I'm looking at ,new to tuning and hp tuners any help would be appreciated, thanks
