      The only bad thing about this year was the transmission slip. Me, my uncle, and a friend have a 2014 and we all have that slip after 100k miles.

    Almost half the city of Blaine, MN has these in the Cosmic Gray color. Myself included. Just shows what a good reputation it has.

    • @faschuck
      @faschuck 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s what color my 2012 SE is and I love it! Based upon what I’ve seen and read, Cosmic Grey is actually a pretty rare color. What’s so cool about it is that it looks black under overcast skies and bluish grey under sunny skies. I get tons of compliments from work colleagues on how sharp it looks, which is all the more remarkable considering how the executives who park near me have 3 Mercedes-Benzes and 1 Volvo among themselves…😎🚘

    I’m 22 years old and instead of wanting a bimmer, Infiniti, or any sports sedan on that matter I just want this Camry, either I4 or V6 tbh the V6 are rare and very expensive used compared to a I4, also very hard to change the spark plugs compared to an I4.

    I have a 2006 Toyota Camry, 193,000 miles, and it drives amazing. It has taken me from CT to GA 5 times, there, and back, no issues.
    Comfortable, and drives so smooth. Great gas mileage. I see people driving trucks, like my ex, putting $20 on his Ram, yeah, not much needle movement.
    So expensive here in CT. But, I live walking distance to my job. So if I put $20 in my car, it lasts for a while before I have to put another $20. I don’t really go out though. Just to work, and home. Maybe the movies/mall, that’s it. I save a lot on the gas expense that way. Cutting back on many things that I really did not need. ☺️
    I am buying a 2014 today, waiting on the final documents. I cannot wait. Toyota Camry, love it.

      If you're only driving short distances everyday, not really getting the engine warmed up, not hitting high RPM's at all, do yourself a favor and give it an italian tuneup every so often. Like every week or two weeks. Drive it for like a half hour or 45 minutes (or slightly more if you can) at highway speeds on a highway. Open it up a bit, get those RPM's up ocasionally by letting the transmission downshift when you press the gas pedal. It will burn out the carbon and open the valves up, get everything hot and burn out the junk. Very good for your car and it will drive even better.

    This dude is wayyyy too obsessed with being cool and wayyy too picky about everything. You know what you're getting with a Toyota! Its all about the reliability and low cost of ownership. But not at any major expense (still looks good, still pretty comfortable, quiet, decent performance, and features). The 7th gen Camry's are the nicest looking ones which is a plus, the most reliable, and the "basic" look of it is actually a selling point IMO. Its not soo wavy and curvy to the point where it looks ridiculous, but its not so hideous or like a grandma car either. Middle of the pack in everything except reliability, and thats where it stands out. Also, the SE model may not be exactly a race car, but its something to whip around and be slightly zippy in and out of traffic. Not so small that its uncomfortable like a Corolla, so its a great daily driver and can be a long trip driver -- but no so big like a boat luxury car where you get all that body roll and you're anxious about cutting in and out of lanes because the dimensions of the car are so big. I like the light cars like this because less wear on the brakes, transmission, and motor. I cringed every time I would brake in my Chrysler 300 because it was like stopping a freight train. Thousands of pounds of extra weight for no reason eating up my gas mileage and brake pads, for just me driving in it is was WAYY too heavy. I don't need a tank to commute daily. This generation Camry checks almost all the boxes I need for a car + reliability and without the expenses of repairs, big monthly payment, insurance, etc...

      I don't know the last time you looked at car prices, but people are catching on, Toyotas are considered expensive now versus other cars in their class. Especially used. A 10 year old Toyota will be more expensive then a 5 year old Ford or GM with half the mileage. People know they are more reliable with higher quality parts, easier to maintain and repair, and have way better quality control coming out of the factory. No other car company can hold a candle to Toyota except maybe Honda, and they're a distant second. Even their maintenance book is basically just oil changes and tire rotations every 10,000 miles. My Chrysler required rear axle greasing, coolant flushes, spark plug replacements, power steering flushes, transmission service, timing belt replacements, brake line replacements, master cylinder checks, suspension component replacements, and the list went on and on and on. PCV Valve, O2 sensor, and constant other replacements for required maintenance. Half of that crap failed anyway before the maintenance period.
