Muy linda version!!!! a mi personalmente me gusta mucho sobre todo en estos tangos lentos que el sonido se muera como el bandoneon y sin vibrato, Nina tocas hermoso!
Thank you for send me this video. According to ancient Chinese legend it is believed that the sound of the flute was able to reach the beyond. Your playing make me a believer of this legend.
I'd really love to hear this very solo onto a raggy rolling piano arrangement. I've never heart a flute like Nina Perlove's in my live! Tango is passionate and the flute is traditional tango's most feminine voice. Brava Nina!
really love your tone. I'm from Argentina and I really enjoy your playing. Piazzolla was definitely one of the greatest composers in our country. I just started studing flute a few months ago and I'm hoping to play that piece some time. thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks for this. Beautiful and emotional playing. I love the way that Pizzola conveys harmony through a melodic line. In my head I hear the guitar playing along with you, as in "Histoire du Tango"
that is the most beautiful sound I have ever heard on flute since I played in an empty room that echoed alot lol good job now I'm late to school cuz I cant stop watching lol
Wow... When I read Astor Piazolla I was expecting something catchy and with a lot of rythm... but instead I got surrounded by a sound full of emotions. You played this marvelously, bravo listening to you is always a pleasure
What else could I say about that? Awesome! Amazing! Terrific! Brilliant! You surely was born to play the flute girl, I'm trying to learn (by myself) but the flute is a very tough instrument to play. That's why I love it so bad, and look up to anyone which can play it right
i love it ms.. nina.. i'll keep all of your vid.. really thank you for your effort in making this stuffs.. God BLess you.. Good Luck and take care always dear...
Wonderful performance. I subbed to you soon after signing up and checked out your channel briefly. I will hopefully soon have the time to resume playing and look forward to studying your videos in order to get back in shape. However, I haven't listened to you play since then, and am so glad you sent the notice to me about this post. Beautiful, resonant tone. I look forward to studying under you, even thought it won't be in person. (But you've got a lot of work to do in my case!). Thanks again.
Love the way you massaged the E in the echo in final section (like 3? lines from bottom)... everyone seems to hurry that one and it sounds like a mistake.
leathercase: I am still getting to know this flute, but the more I explore on it and get used to it the more I am amazed by what it can do, especially in terms of the basic sound and flexibility of color.
@FoReal100 Yes,I played in marching band in high school and in symphonic bands for many years. You should be able to vary your vibrato depending on the mood and phrase, sometimes fast, heavy, slow or sometimes none.
Always amazing for me what you are able to do with your instrument! And you hold this incredible tension (do you know what I mean). Yes I am deeply impressed ! Thanks for sharing, wolfgang
@cervantespianista I agree! I wish that flute players would get that we should all be singing through our flutes. On the other hand, some of us can't sing without flutes. I suppose that with enough work one could become a virtuoso, but they would lack the essence, in my oppinion, of what a flute is all about. Created in our early history for the purpose of playing to loved ones or giving thanks and praise to those we worshiped. The only change since then is keys have been added on some.
@wenoel YES! Every one says, why should she change her playing style,"She sounds bueatiful". Imagine how much more "Bueatiful" she'd sound with proper posture. No matter how great some one becomes, they can ALWAYS become greater. To me, thats our stuborn human nature getting in the way of abtaining those lofty goals that we set for ourselves. I'm pretty sure Nina has them too,and I doubt that they include being the most watched youtube flutist. If so,good, she found her happiness. Not easy to do.
Dear Nina, I'm not talking as a concertist (I had to abandon wind instruments after a lung injury in war). But I'm talking as a Piazzolla arranger and as tango composer. I, frankly, have never heart in my whole life such a passionate and vibrant interpretation of Piazzolla's Estudio Numero Cuatro. I'm currently working on an arrangement of "Milonga del Angel" for Flute, Clarinet (or Oboe) and Guitar. Please, let me know whether you want the sheet as a pdf.
@Msflutenerd302 how much you need to practice depends on your goals. Whenever you practice it needs to be quality practice time with good listening and concentration.
chibimisa: I would say that my choice is what you hear. That doesn't mean this is the only way to play the piece. There are many interpretations possible. This was my interpretation on April 14, 2008.
Oh this is lovely, I like it a lot. I like the candle in the back to, gives it a nice sort of feel, haha. Where would you be able to find the music for this?
I have performed this on both saxophone and flute (though I first approached it on saxophone). You have a really big and beautiful sound but I feel like your vibrato is a little too pulsed. Have you thought about letting it grow as you would with dynamics and the phrase at times? When I performed it on flute I really struggled with varying my vibrato so it never seemed to machine like. I think it is a little easier to do on saxophone. I would love to hear you play this again!
Wow! quelle énorme égo tu démontre! Une Étude est supposée être jouée seule, a moins d'une étude de groupe, et si ton talent dépasse celui ci, s'il te plaît, partage le! montre nous ce que tu sais faire!
That was great! I'll have to find that piece for myself. I just wondering though, I notice that when you use your vibrato, your cheeks tend to move with it. I've never seen it and was wondering if it's just something that helps you personally do it, or am I missing out? My nostrils tend to flare with my vibrato...
Hi Nina, beautiful tone coloring and expression. I was curious if you had extensions on this flute as I could not see the end of your foot joint. If you have them handy, and have the time, it would be interesting to hear this piece (or a portion of it) with the extensions to see if they make a discernable difference. Is the room you are in a recital space with some resonance?
@flappichappi I agree, did you notice Nina uses her cheeks for her vibrato? I"m not exactly sure what all the hype is about. I just started using this computer format and every time I want to hear flute music, this lady comes up. Its really starting to pursued me into the realm of posting videos on youtube. I think people deserve to experience true, from the inside interpretations. One the other hand, my self-promoting skills are no where on par with hers, so that could become a problem.

So beautifully played!
That is the most beautiful vibrato I have ever heard on any instrument. Well done, Nina.
j'aime ce climat intérieur qui vous habite lorsque vous jouez, et cette mélancolie qui interpelle à tout moment...
really love your tone. I'm from Argentina and I really enjoy your playing. Piazzolla was definitely one of the greatest composers in our country. I just started studing flute a few months ago and I'm hoping to play that piece some time.

I usually know Piazzola playing Bandoneon, but I m amazed how nice it sounds by flute. Your playing fine, congratulation!
Unbelievable! A1mazing.

Yeah, I thought it was. Thanks for the reply :D
Oh jeeez I hope you don't listen to these commenters. Great stuff.
who make a dislike he is crazy realyyyyyy:D
@Msflutenerd302 how much you need to practice depends on your goals. Whenever you practice it needs to be quality practice time with good listening and concentration.
WOW...really beautiful playing!
I've just composed a piece for piano and flute and i would love to hear you play it!
Nina: vou praticar meu inglês para poder aproveitar melhor suas lições, mas desde já agradeço.
Aplausos!!!!
That was really good. I love you tone, clarity, expression, and your beautiful vibrato. It must have taken a lot of practice.
Exquisite! I've been hoping to hear you play these!! When will I find you on Itunes???
@XRandomProductionz It is called vibrato. Do a youtube search for Nina Perlove vibrato and you'll see my video where I talk about it.
Fantastic sound and musical expression! What flute and head joint do you play on? Are you using Foster extensions on this recording?
Nina, ¿No públicas más vídeos?

Flutemark:
This was played on a 14K Sankyo flute, no foster extensions. What do you think?
