- This woodturning tutorial video covers all the measuring tools I use regularly and is great for beginners to understand what measuring tools we use, how we use them, and when to use them. The video was created responding to a viewer's question about my bowl callipers and how to use them. If you have any questions and don't want to ask in the comments, please send me an email via my website kerrycorney.com
I hope you enjoy the video.
Cheers, Kezza.

Thank you for making all of these videos. You're helping me get very excited to get my garage cleaned out, and clean up the old Craftsmen lathe I was given last year. haven't turned anything in over twenty years, but looking forward to relearning, and beginning to craft some cool things.
Thanks for watching, mate, and I hope I pointed you in the right direction. I’m excited for you to get back into it. There’s nothing better than crafting pieces for family and friends. Please let me know if I can help with anything along the way. Cheers,
Kez.
Thanks once again for sharing your knowledge Kerry, much appreciated. Take care and stay healthy and safe.
Thank you so much, Earl. Glad you enjoyed it, mate.
Hope your well🤝
Cheers,
Kez.

Thank you for watching, Johnny. I’m glad you liked it.

Well done sir, your videos are appreciated.
Thank you, Dan. I’m glad it could help in some way. Keep me posted if you need me to make a video on a particular topic for you.

I’ve had the Wagner for years now. It is expensive , I believe I paid $450 Canadian dollars for it , but no probes to worry about and you can adjust the specific gravity for different species of wood for increased accuracy. If you can afford one you won’t be disappointed. And great video by the way🇨🇦
I’ve heard really good things about it. I will have to save some pennies and invest in one. Maybe an earlier birthday present 🤓
Good video about measuring tools. I still need to get a good set of calipers. One thing I found to look for on metal rulers is to make sure that they measure from the end - not the ones with a little blank space before the marks.
Ohh, I haven’t seen those before!
Thanks for watching mate🤝
Cheers,
Kez
Don’t know if you have ever tried it but if you take one of those spinners and sharpen one edge. You can use it as a parting tool that will give you the dimension you are looking for. Very repeatable every time if you need similar diameter down a spindle
No I haven’t tried that. Sounds interesting, is that with a spanner? 🔧
Did you happen to catch how many times I said Vernier Calipers? Haha
@@KerryCorney I lost track but those are very useful so you can’t say it enough. Between those and calipers absolute musts. I made my dad a chess set before I learned about shadow turning. That’s when I learned about taking some open end wrenches and sharpening the edge. Made it easy to repeat dimensions to get your cove and beads. If still looking for ideas. The shadow turning would be a good one for replicating candle sticks, lamps and such. Have a great one big guy
Vernier caliper =12 if I counted right.
Legend will have to see what the running tally will end up being hahaha 🤣
When I was going through the video I couldn’t believe how many times I said it haha.
Cheers mate
