Maangchi, I made this bread with a whole wheat bread flour and followed your instructions exactly. I halved all the ingredients to make only 1 loaf though, and it turned out so good! It was my first time baking bread and it turned out lovely. Thanks for figuring out this recipe with all your experiments, the Pandemic Ppang is top notch!
If you want to make only one loaf, here are the measurements guys. I will use grams when it was convenient for me :
    1/8 cup unsalted butter (28.4 g)
3/4 cup cold milk (whole or skim)
    1/8 cup sugar (30 g)
1/2 packet of instant or active dry yeast (1 1/8 teaspoons or in the case of my packet which was 7g of yeast, I used 3.5g)
    3/4 teaspoons kosher salt
    1 egg
2 cups all purpose wheat flour (or bread flour) plus more for dusting

edit: Here are the gram weight conversions for the ingredients. Thanks Maangchi !! (Note: although many would convert cups of flour as 120 g, based on Maangchi's scooping technique--scoop with the cup then scrape off the excess--I chose 140 g per cup. My test bake turned out great using this ratio)
    Ingredients:
    57 g unsalted butter
    340 g cold milk
    50 g sugar
7 g instant or active dry yeast
    9 g kosher salt
    2 eggs
560 g all purpose or bread flour

This was super helpful as I just did 480g of King Arthur APF and it just wouldn't come together. I think I threw in a good extra half a cup fo flour, and the dough was still pretty sticky (rising now on the radiator, so final results TBD). I'd go with the full 560g of flour.

One large egg is around 50g (2 x 50g=100g), this will be 78% hydration. We'd expect the dough to be sticky.

@@simonefabiane9562 I've been using this chocolate cake recipe from Foodcast for the past 4 years, my whole family really likes it, and they love it with banana filling and dark choco ganache~ th-cam.com/video/GgOIdkV5PPQ/w-d-xo.html
I'm also greatly intimidated by bread baking, I tried baking whole wheat bread once, but it was so tough! when I cut it, so I been reluctant to bake bread again, my grandma tho, she's really good at baking, but she's more of a "feeling type of chef" than a measure and recipe chef, so it's hard to follow her bread making since it always changes... But Maangchi's recipe seems easy enough to follow and make c: so better give it a try, maybe we'll be less intimidated after baking this Ppang~ great luck!

@@simonefabiane9562 Yeah, she's a great cook, not only baking, but most of our family always gathers at grandma's house to eat during weekends and celebrations~ yeah, in Maangchi's old videos, you can tell she wasn't used to use measuring cups and spoons 😅 but you know, many great chefs don't use exact measurements, and I've started being like that too, I grew up with my grandma and watched her cook since I was 3y.o so I'm getting used to her way of cooking, but baking is another story, I think it takes time of practice to really get the hang of it, whenever I ask her "how do you know when the dough is ready" or "how much you need of that" she always replies "the dough will tell you, the dough will ask for what it needs"... I'm always puzzled at those answers 😂 So far the only dough I know how to work is pizza dough, that never fails me, but it's far more easy than bread dough, so I can't compare~

@@simonefabiane9562 lol 'stop asking questions', I can almost imagine how strong your mom is 🤭 and yeah, that's a really simple and easy cake recipe, you can adjust the sugar and cocoa to taste, I do reduce the sugar for a more prominent dark choco taste, and you're very welcome, it was my pleasure. Let's get better at baking~ I'll try it out today actually, Maangchi's Ppangdemic bread, since we already finished the store bought one, wish me luck 😁😊 Good luck to you too~ Keto bread seems more complicated, but maybe it's easier to work with, who knows~ I was keto for a while, but never tried to make keto baking lol I just hung on there without baked goods 😔 so great luck with keto baking!

I made this bread today. It was easy, and I used my stand mixer with the dough hook to knead the bread. It's very soft, with a tender crumb and tastes rich. I think next time I will add a little less sugar and butter, but that's the nice thing about recipes -- you can adjust them to suit your personal taste. Look forward to making it again!

Im going to try this...I have made bread but different...just flour, salt, yeast, water. What I like here - besides your up beat presentation, is that you mix it all in the skillet where you melt the butter. I did purchase one of those bread baking pans - found on Amazon.

Thank you for your recipe. Normally, if I am going to make bread, I like to start early morning. Well, after watching your video, it was late afternoon, I had to try it. Instead of 4 cups of all purpose flour, I used 2 cups of all purpose and 2 cups of wheat flour. Perfect! It is so good. I almost want to make more, even though, we still have some left. Again thanks.

I am your fan! I honestly tried a dozen of bread recipes out there , but yours' had done absolute magic. I was mainly thrilled with the "300" kneading challange. I think this number is the secret ingredient of this recipe.
