Thank you very much for your nice comments and messages as always! Love you all! ❤ I just finished Korean caption, so English and Korean captions are available.
^^ SULBBANG. This bread can be easily found in Korean markets. It's one of Korea's street foods. Above all, it is very low in calories even compared to bread, making it good for dieting. Of course, if you eat a lot, you will gain weight. Chuseok is coming soon, so thank you for showing us traditional Korean food. Although it is made with alcohol. Most of the alcohol content is gone, so you don't have to worry. ^^
One of the members of my congregation brought this to church. It was amazing. Very similar to German beer bread in taste but with a soft crust from being steamed. Thanks for creating the recipe!
@@Maangchi I believe it’s 3 cups self-rising flour, 4 T. sugar and a 12 ounce can of beer. Bake at 350 until done. Fantastic while still hot and covered in butter. Thanks for all the great recipe’s!
I love the heart-to-heart she had with her steamer. It really does look almost brand new. Edit: Maangchi liked my comment, and the owners of the Korean restaurant I work at were impressed by the food I brought in because of Maangchi's videos. My life is complete, and I am at peace 😌
MAANCHI! Uyen Ninh is a Vietnamese living in Germany and makes youtube videos. She decided to try showing what she eats in a day and cooking since German food doesn't really suit her taste. She shiwed off your book and made kimchi and kimchi jiggae, but her kimchi went horribly wrong. How cool would it be to go to germany and teach her your kimchi recipe? I think it would be awesome for you two to collaborate Vietnamese and korean foods!
Hey Maangchi. It has been awhile since I have seen your videos. Love to see my Korean friends. That nice fluffy Makgeolli bread looked so delicious. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful recipe with us. God Bless you Maangchi. One more thing. I have heard of Makgeolli from other Korean friends and fellow You Tuber's. Thanks again. Mari'a.👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😋😋😋😋💙💙💜💜💜
I just bought a bottle of makgeolli. Unfortunately I saw this video too late because I don’t have enough makgeolli left. 😂 But I will definitely try this someday. Looks wonderful!
🤣🤣 I had a buddy my first tour in South Korea who loved to drink it, too. I didn't like the taste of it. I didn't care that much Soju either and my two favorite breweries, Isenbeck & Crown, went out of business. I quit drinking alcohol in 1977 after I came back to the States but I'll still cook with it.
I stumbled across hodugwaja or Korean walnut pastries. And OMG! They were the best things I've ever tasted! The walnuts & red bean paste harmonize perfectly. And they were just sweet enough to enjoy with a nice cup of tea. Unfortunately, the store hasn't had them since. I'd love a recipe!
I love you Maangchi. If I can find Makgeoli where I live, I will make this bread. My household is gluten free, so I will experiment with gluten free flours ❤
It must have been quite a satisfying experience in making this bread, as it took quite a while for it to ferment, but, it's worth the wait! It's really soft and spongy and there are apple pieces and beans added to it too! It really look tasty!🥰
Hi Mangchi. This is amazing!!! In Kerala in India, we have a similar thing that's made with rice flour called Vattayappam. Though it is a steamed rice cake, preparation is almost similar (rice flour, yeast, sugar, adding some toppings like nuts or raisins and steaming) and seeing this recipe gave me same vibes. I will make this bread recipe though. ❤️❤️❤️
You are the best Maangchi ❤ I love all your recipes ...I love korean food ❤ and you make it just perfect 👌👍 for sure I will make this one .. I drink mackgeolli at my favorite korean restaurant with my husband but know I will buy it for cooking this time .. thank you 😊
From the thumbnail, i thought this might like Jewish Apple Cake 😅 seriously, though, i cant use my oven right now, so i might actually try steam-baked challah next week!
Hehe I like that she mentioned she only needs two cups for the recipe. Because the rest is for Maangchi to enjoy a nice relaxing beverage in her free time, well deserved 😆❤
Dear Maangchi, I CAN'T believe you are here for 16 years! I made lots of delicious food with you! Thank you and LOVE you so much! Tomorrow for the family party, I am going to make the kimchi pancake and kimchi noodle for them. Hope you all the best!
You can freeze the bread by individually wrapping each piece in plastic wrap and then placing them in a plastic bag or an airtight container. When you're ready to enjoy it, simply thaw it at room temperature or use the microwave.
Thanks for making great recipes. I and my son watch your channel everynight before going to sleep. My son loves your cooking so much!
👍
The fact that Maangchi developed the recipe just based on how she remembers its taste 🔥💪🏽❤
Thank you very much for your nice comments and messages as always! Love you all! ❤

I had a friend when I was little whose mom made makgeolli battered fish. Basically just beer batter with makgeolli instead. It was so fluffy.
🫶🏽 Maangchi, I’ve tried several of your recipes over the years and each one has come out beautifully. You are a treasure. ❤

Ms. Maangchi, thank you for another lovely recipe with your beautiful personality. Love your channel. 👍🤗

Wow. That spongy texture and crumb is to die for.

Asian’s from all over love their steel cookware! Even we in India use this kind of steamer
Nice recipe! We have a similar one in Southern India, but made with coconut toddy!
Love makgeolli and I know this bread is yummy!😊❤
You really wanted to reproduce this recipe! I'll try !
I can relate to your steamer situation. I have some sandwich spreader knives that I will never get rid of, even if they aren't perfect lol
👍
Thank you for sharing this recipe!!!!! 술빵 is a childhood favorite 🤩 ❤️💕💕
Thank You Maangche Looking for You its so pleasure because You are so kind and treated people witha respect I am resting looking at you Kind regard

Brilliant recipe, thank you!!❤
That is just beauteous! I would love a slice!
I love you Maangchi. If I can find Makgeoli where I live, I will make this bread. My household is gluten free, so I will experiment with gluten free flours ❤
I hope your gluten-free experiment is a success! Please let me know how it turns out.
So we have to keep in the fridge even before opening the bottle?

yes truely i thought making bread is so tough but the results are incomparable.... thank you once again.
That looks really good & thanks for the video 👍🏻
i learn so much from you ! even if i never use the knowledge, i love the experience of you sharing it with us.
Amazing recipe, I move regularly to different houses, and my old kitchen stuffs always remind me that it is my home! LOL.

Hi, I'm from Indonesia🙋♀️ maybe the topping also can change with dry fruits or nuts😋❤
Hi, Maangchi, could you pls make a video on how to make Korean mochi bun with red bean filling. Thanks ❤
Check this out, please. www.maangchi.com/recipe/chapssaltteok

Beans n apple pieces made it more attractive to look
So lovely I will make it soon
This is my favorite!
Dear Maangchi, I CAN'T believe you are here for 16 years! I made lots of delicious food with you! Thank you and LOVE you so much! Tomorrow for the family party, I am going to make the kimchi pancake and kimchi noodle for them. Hope you all the best!

For holiday time could you make it with the Chestnut makgoli and top it with chestnuts??
Love your videos!!

Wow... looks so yummy!
Can you show us how to make GodeungUn Gu• 고등어구미. This is one of our family’s favorite Korean dishes. Thank you!
Oh maangchi you such a cutie pie 🥰
Thanks!
Amazing ❤❤❤
Old stuff better then new ... I would keep it ... Thank you
I've never seen beans that are so pretty 🥺
선생님 how to store this bread? Just put in air tight container and fridge?
You can freeze the bread by individually wrapping each piece in plastic wrap and then placing them in a plastic bag or an airtight container. When you're ready to enjoy it, simply thaw it at room temperature or use the microwave.
My dream is to run into Maangchi at the union square farmers market.
this looks so good 😋
