Love the mid handicap test. I feel that dispersion is at least as important as carry. If we are going to crunch numbers, lets include accuracy/forgiveness.
The one yard difference in distance was the only thing discussed when in fact the ball flight and dispersion was much better with the F9. Clearly the F9 is better for Mark.
Dispersion on F9 superior. Cobra is a more forgiving driver. Would love to see outdoor👍. Also the HONMA TW 747 driver 460 size head. Great and very honest review. Enjoyed it.
Tbh I wouldn't even try the M6 as I wouldn't pay the money. So F9 all day long for me, if it's an improvement on my G30 (with turbulators)
I like the M6 more because of the carbon fiber very balance through out the whole club. And i can swing it faster
Move the weight to front and get another 7 to 10 yards. You don’t have the option of that with m6. And you got to have a lot of club head speed to get the m5, epic sub, to get carry. I’m not all that sure that the twist face is a thing that really works. Didn’t really make that much difference for me in the m3 driver
Go Cobra - quality and cheaper - go the white version!

I love the Cobra I have the Fly Z driver still works great for me. But the F9 at $449, is really not that cheap!
@@Unplugged704 , I found it on sale at a website called Halpenny Golf. I walked in to my local Dick's Sporting Goods and they matched it without even looking at the site. I then paid $349. Not to shabby!

@@seanpeacock5595 you need both for a proper review though. you get your stats and numbers from the tech inside and then you take it on the course to test how it works in different lies and during actual play. how can you say one is better for you if you have never used them in a variety of lies?

Watched till the end and have to say these tests are definitely more relevant to us weekend warriors as Mark was well down on his stats from when he did the M6 vid which is good as we are not robots , nice job both of you👍👍
I got the F9 a month ago. Great club.
Been pounding them straight down the fairway since I got one last December. I think I gave up a little distance for feel and accuracy.
As a mid handicap player myself having recently returned from a 30 year break 😔 I can recommend the f9. However, it is the only driver I have used since my return and have nothing to compare it against. The f9 is amazingly forgiving for pretty much anything not hit off the massive sweet spot, turning miscues into half decent shots. When you catch it right it is an absolute howitzer!! One of the things I like, and I have no idea if this happens with other modern drivers, is that a clear contact mark is left on the club face after every shot which helps improve understanding of what is going on. Not a big fan of the yellow bits but soon got used to it. Worth shopping round as well - I picked up a 1,3 and 5 wood for £510 as a package. The three and five woods are my 'go to' shots off the fairway, absolutely superb.
Actually went through the same testing with these 2 heads at a fitting. While I loved the sound and feel of the M6, by miles, the F9’s numbers were just flat better in terms of distance and dispersion. Couldn’t argue with Trackman. It seems the the M6 sat slightly open to my eye as well.
Bring that weight forward on the F9 and bring the loft up will improve your numbers as well.
Hi James I bought the new cobra f9 speedback driver and 3 word my handicap also is 13 and it's so strong and forgiveness is unreal and straighter I would choose cobra all day long

I don't understand why you would penalize the cobra just because the M6 doesn't give you the option to adjust the weight. The test should be between the most optimal settings of each club.
Have tried lots of drivers and took my new F9 out on course today. Different class and really forgiving, can see my handicap coming down in the near future. What a club never mind the price difference. Go and buy 1 now!
The F9 and M5 driverheads look similar because they were probably made in the same foundry in China.
TaylorMade, Cobra , Callaway etc do not manufacture golf clubs, they buy the shafts, grips and clubheads from various sources and then assemble them. The only imput these companies have is on the R&D on the clubheads. A few companies like Mizuno or Muira do forge their own irons.
Push the weight forward on the F9! Potentially a few hundred less rpm and a few extra yards (providing it’s not all over the place)

Definitely, think this should go to an On-Course Shoot-out.........as long as Mark doesn't wear his Red trousers and I think that the Cobra will come out victorious!
The F9 will be legendary one day. Quality to price cant be beat. I see them going for around $240 all over Ebay, which is cheaper than the M4 right now which is much older.
I just hit the M6 at my club at the taylormade day. I was hitting the 9* and the hazardous stiff shaft and was crushing the ball. Almost 20 yards longer and no leaked to the left shots. my Ping G with a Fiji regular flex 10.5. maybe be time for a new driver

At the moment I'm playing a driver from some years ago, and I'm looking to see whether it is worth updating to a new driver or not, what I'm wondering at the moment though is, are the new drivers that far ahead of older drivers to make enough of a difference for me to make the change, I would find it of very interesting to see say a mid handicapper for example comparing their older driver against these two new drivers to see what benefits they get from them

It's obvious it's the F9. It performed similarly in the data but it was more consistent in dispersion and height and is quite a bit cheaper. No brainer.
Once again, another driver review that focuses on distance as the important number when in reality for most of us mid to high handicappers forgiveness is by far more helpful to our game. I'll take ten yards less from the light rough versus ten yards more from the trees. You boys need to get your head out of the sand and start focusing on what truly matters to your subscribers.

Nice video guys! Doesn't F9 have the added advantage (not mentioned here) of the Arccos sensor in the grip. That should be a powerful tool to monitor performance over the season.

As a Cobra owner I can confirm that the Accos stuff is a gimmick in its current form. I can see how it might be developed in the future to make it useful, but at the moment I doubt anyone will try it more than once before forgetting about it.

I used a cobra the other day (borrowed) it was unreal, I was crushing shots 275+ as straight as a laser. My friend said, "you won't hit it any better, don't waste your money. He was way wrong. I m buying one asap

F9 all day long. Looks are subjective but Cobra service is better than Taylormade's, it's cheaper and feels better.
Tried them both along with Mizuno ST190, Ping G410 and the now ancient but discounted Callaway Rogue. Surprise It was the Rogue that performed best in my fitting last week and by some margin. My Callaway EPIC and CF16 irons are relegated and set for the Far East for when I play "vacation" golf in Thailand - Oh the caddies and bottled Singha beer!

I appreciate your videos I Ben playing golf for two years and I enjoy this sport more than any sport I ever played. I’m a cobra fan as well one length. Your videos help me decide what to do next with my upgrade. I guess I’ll get rid of my 350 cc cobra 9.0 driver for this f9 I’m trying too stay loyal too the soil but that one yard difference made a difference I’ll stick with cobra lol. There’s a big difference in price and if you wait 6 months taylormade will have another one out 👍it’s a rip off 🏌️♂️
Bit pacy for a mid handicap test to be honest, not many mid handicappers gets ball speeds into the 140’s.
I need to ask a question and sadly I don't think Mark or James read back months later. Are the hits far right and left just crappy aim, toe and heel strikes or are they slices and hooks? I ask this because I never get variation like that unless I'm careless and hit a slice, and I'll occasionally have an entire hour trying to fix a slice at the range(4 back surgeries have damaged my game). I will say, picking up a few smaller drivers has improved my concentration and put a lot of my slice days to bed.
Before I watch video I’m guessing you go with Taylormade now prove me wrong! Wat he’d it and I’m surprised Taylormade seems to be giving a lot of golfers bags and stuff... My apologies for my guess. On course of course!
F9 is 1/3 less cost. Both are excellent choices. The M6 is much better looking when viewed from address, they both look good in the bag.
You don't make much of a comment about dispersion? The Cobra (Coh bra, not Cobb bra, 😂 tell Mark to say it properly 😉) won that test easily and a hundred quid less!! No competition really
Why does everyone have the yellow F9. Cobra do it in WHITE and the top is a mat finish.

Hi James. Great to see a mid-handicapper test and great to get the 'global' view! Could you please work on your steady hand focusing with the camera. The jumping about in the videos is a bit distracting and maybe a bit more auto focus would help. That said, good content. I would have liked some more detail on dispersion as this is what matters more to a mid-handicaper (18 hoping to be 14!) rather than 1 extra yard. I have had the TaylorMade R11s in the bag for about 8 years, although it is frequently banned from actually playing on the course as it refuses to obey. I am going for a Cobra fitting day at my local club on Friday and have my eye on the F9 Speedback as I hope it will show some decent improvement over the old TM in the bag. But mostly I am getting rid of the old club because it has a lot of scars over its many surfaces. Also it has an adjustable piece on the bottom of the club which is supposed to open and close the face but that has broken some time ago and so its impossible to tell what the set up is now. I am not going to bother looking at Titleist, TM etc as I can't see how they can be worth nearly half a thousand pounds!!! If you get a break in the weather and can get the on course testing done by Friday that would be great!! Cheers. Phil.
nice to see how trusty must have twist face and speed dampening foam increased distance and narrowed dispersion. Mid handicapper just blows TM claims of what their clubs can do for everybody straight out the water
One of the reasons the shots tend to get better as you go along is your body gets use to the length of the club. On course you very rarely use the same club twice. At a range most people get a 7 iron for example hit 20 shots and end up striking the latter ones better due to the body getting use to the length

My opinion and I stress opinion because I'm no professional and a mid handicap of 12. To me I feel that it's not so much carry, or overall distance because I did hit the major brands new driver for 2019 to make sure I was getting the one that best suited me. And all the distances were no more than 10 yards different but dispersion to me is the most important and havent found a tighter dispersion than cobra, just for me and my game and swing. I think the most important thing about all these clubs, find what best works for you and for your wallet.
Having now seen this comparison, i realise i had the exact same choice during fitting last week. I was recommended the M6, but didn't like the sound on impact and it felt more heavy. The Cobra was much nicer, felt better on impact and sounded sweeter. I was also recommended the same Hazard shaft, since initially i was whipping it too much. Wish i'd known there was a green head, but no complaints yet for the F9. i'm averaging 230 meters, with a max of 264 (according to the cobra sensor) only difference to note, the weighting i have, i think is 18, not 14 as attached here. Looking down the F9 is also nice with the cobra lined up for a nice centered shot. Highly recommended.

76-year old 13 hcp. I've been hitting a Cobra 427 for 25 years but recently bought an M6. I hit the M6 1 yard further with numerous samples! So, a driver worth maybe $15-$25 today versus a $500 driver. 1 yard more with the M6. Will be hitting the F9 on the course in about 2 hours.
Same handicap as Mark with same swing speed tried both these but spun them way too much. Tester handed me the epic flash sub and I've never looked back. It's a fairway finder with good length once you get over the noise. Best driver I've ever hit and owned even got the 3 wood in the bag now.
So many don’t like yellow but there is a great white version with a half matte top that does not get enough publicity

TBH Cobra has to bring back the 2 moveable weights to their 3 woods like their drivers. The difference between the Tour and the normal one is too big
Mid handicap shootout on the course please!! To me the biggest difference between them is the price.
Thats a lot of spin, must be possible to get that spin down with a different shaft, weight forward or another head, shaft etc.
I play the TS2. But In this test have to pick Cobra. The Taylormade color pattern is Rubbish (IMO).
Only reason I would pick m6 is the cobra is a composite face and I had one before and they wear out after a year or two then you start loosing a lot of distance.

Keep the m6. Before you hit them you already like it. So don’t even hit the f9

James another excellent video. I currently own a Taylor Made R11 driver but I would love to try the Cobra Driver, it is so much cheaper than the rest.
what I like about this guy is that he plays his game as a mid handicap tester and he comes and doesn't try show off in comparison to other mid handicap testers I seen he hits the shots hes capable of and it's good to see
F9 based on brand preference and price. Otherwise they are pretty much the same
