Ethereals (S24) worked really well for me. In S27, Shadow Strafe Impale was a joy to play. The altar in S28 was fantastic, added an extra layer of season progression. S23's followers update was great for me (casual HC/SSF player) and was a big QoL boost. Hard to say but S28 or S24 were probably my favourites.
One fun option to consider for pure speed is In-geom in the cube. You can use both Vanishing Powder on Smokescreen and Acrobatics on Vault, and just Vault and Smokescreen *constantly*. If you run and kill Elite packs fast enough, you can still have Vengeance up 100% of the time, although 100% uptime isn't strictly necessary on T16 or GR90 speeds, so it's okay for it to drop for a few seconds. Preparation ends up never being used, since you have no skills that spend discipline - it's just a stat bonus with Invigoration.
damn in the first 15-20 secs i can see what happens without the altar of rites QOL, you actually have to run to pickup globes ... this season is definitly not for me !😢
I havent played a wizard for so long because I was always annoyed that archon was their best set, mostly stuck to Barb, DH, and occasionally WD. WD for the new chicken set is tempting but since Wizard has a great starting set I will probably check it out first this season since I havent played it since before the tal rasha redesign!
Season 28 with the altar of rights probably had the most improvements all together I think. And I still love this build the best in all the years I've played D3. Ha I'm amazed to hear that guardian is not a good as crimsons?!? I thought the numbers were better on the guardian set. I may look at this later today and see before the new season on Friday. And then I'll inevitably try the chicken build or another dh ue build AGAIN lol!
I didn't because of no extra money with our lovely economy right now and I'm glad I didn't. A lot of new games are buggy from the get go and blizzard shot themselves in the foot nerfing and changing too much early in with D4. D4 will get better over time I'm sure. D3 had it's up and downs over the years as well...
UE multishot and GoD are both fast AF. My impression has been that GoD does better on the bad or average rifts while UE can get better times in the good rifts with great density. Just comes down to which playstyle you enjoy more. I presonally love the UE stutterstepping gameplay in small doses but if I'd have to blast for 5 hours straight, I'd probably opt for GoD for the more relaxed gameplay.
