I completely have missed all these years that there was Armand in the Queen of the Damned until one of your previous videos. Banderas did great if you didn't know what the character from the books were suppose to look like. I could listen to you talk about all of these vampires! I'm here for it.
Anne Rice is the sweetest horror writer. I loved the Mummy, and the angelic Djinn of another .The Vampire Chronicles are my favorite tales ever. She meets and even succeeds the horror generated by any other tale. We discover that vampires all have the potential to become really overpowered. To entrance, to overpower, to possess someone so vulnerable.. And others are better, at times. Not always. Strange and wonderful tale
Not to be a pest, but she passed away in 2021. I was hella bummed when she passed, she and her assistant would sometimes hold raffles and such. They would give away signed copies of her work, I tried for years to win a signed autograph from her up until her passing But anyways, her and her assistant were also pretty great at responding to peoples questions online.
I love when you do videos on the books and I remember stuff I forgot thank you for reminding me how amazing the stories are (even the ones not centered around my favorite Brat Prince)
Casting Antonio Banderas seems really odd, considering Anne Rice didn't want Tom Cruise to play Lestat. I read somewhere that Antonio Banderas didn't even speak English yet when he was cast in Interview with the Vampire, though I don't know if it's true.
Almost positive his English was good. “Assassins” with Sylvester Stallone had tons of dialogue. He comfortably spoke English by that point. “You blew it!!! Eyam steel alive!!! Ha hAAA!”
I will never understand why Armand and Claudia never appears on screen like they are in the books.Claudia problably is because she is five years old, but Armand ...
It's disappointing to me that in _all_ the years Armand has been on screen and stage, not _once_ has he been portrayed as having auburn hair. I can understand aging him up, as they _always_ do with Claudia, but as an auburn-haired person myself, it is, I feel, unnecessary to always change the character's appearance to a brunette or, as in the case of the film _Queen of the Damned_ , blonde. Sigh. Just my two cents.
Armond was in Queen of the Damned? I just watched that again a couple months ago and don't remember him being in it at all. Can you tell me which scene?
@@FransHattingh Did we watch the same movie? Lol I don't remember Pandora being in it either. Is it at that vampire bar and it's the three vampires seen a few times? Or are they with the ancients?
@@Tealaful Haha! No, no. It's not the bar scene. It's the end fight with Akasha. When Akasha and Lestat show up at Maharet's compound. Marius and Jesse are there, as well as Khayman (the tall dude with the blonde hair), Mael (the old dude with the black/grey hair), Pandora (the woman with black hair and wearing what looks to me like a South Asian garment), and Armand (the aforementioned blond dude with the open reddish shirt). There is a deleted scene titled the Ancients at the Hollywood Sign if I remember correctly. In it Marius meets Khayman, Pandora and Armand. He calls Armand bitter. 🤣
I love how Antonio Banderas looks absolutely nothing like the character. "You're getting a hot 40 year old Spaniard."
Look at the guy playing him in the TV series nothing like the book.

I agree that although Antonio doesn’t fit the book description of him, he still did good in that role
Armand look like Megadeath singer.

This is great. I'm reading blood and gold now for the 4 time. Marius de Romanus has just met Bianca
Awesome, one of my favorite books!!
Love the movie and the sound track
Idc if Antonio looks nothing like the original imagined character... hes forever cemented in my mind as Armand and played the hell out of that role!!
Good insightful vid. How about more on Akasha? Like if she has more powers then regular vampires do, and more insight to her story.
Vampire Chronicles What If, would be an interesting content series. That you can do, since theirs a lot of material to work with.

Lestat was anne rice's favourite. So she wanted him to be exactly how she pictured him. Armand on the other hand was just another character

Armand from the "QueenOTD" movie was the only element of the entire film presented correctly. Horrible movie. Just god awful.
