This video took a lot out of me to create.. at one point I thought it was endless and I couldn’t see the finish line.. 82 separate scene creations cut out then layered for a 3D realistic effect.. to see it come together and be so well received is what makes it worth while.. what a long 10 days but so rewarding.. thank you all❤️
We appreciate everything that you do for this channel. Too bad Anne Rice didn’t write a full fledged book about them. Perhaps this can be a fan based film…?Great job on this entire post.
I was always fascinated by Maharet and Mekare. I still remember from when I first read The Queen Of The Damned the image of the newly awaken Mekare, streaking across the world like an invisible force of nature, heading towards Akasha, to seek her revenge. It still gives me goosebumps thinking about it
I dont think redheads are evil or bad. I think that bull comes from people blaming bad things on whatever or whoever is different from them. Ya know...its always "their" fault. But...I think redheads do have that extra in them. It can bad, if the person is bad. But redheads seem to have a little more fire in their soul, to me anyways. It is really sad how through out history, and even now...twins are seen as a bad omen, or their presence will make the village suffer. Some little places in Africa still believe this. I watched a documentary about an orphanage in middle of nowhere, and the amount of twins they had was crazy. And some even think the body parts of twins can have magical powers if cut off and made into potions, all that stuff. There is many syories of women taking their twins to orphanages because bad folks would kidnap, or just cut off their arm or leg. Some in the orphanage were disfigured because of it. Its sad.
Maharet and mekare really have a brilliant backstory its sad what happens to them later in the book series to me they deserved better can't wait for the show to get to queen of the damned 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you for this video. And definitely a Huge Thanks for accurately showing Khayman, Akasha and Enkil as Egyptians/Africans. To me, Mekare and Maharet's story is one of the highlights of the entire Vampire Lestat series - feel like I should re-read the books considering how horribly and scary things are in the US. I could comment about the slight misinterpretations, but for real, this is a really good video. Subscribed.
Omg yesssss i've been waiting for someone to do a dive into Maharet And Mekare, but everyone always focuses on Lestat, Louis and Akasha and so few go into how the vampire curse/virus came to be. And don't even get me started on the Queen of the Damned movie when it comes to Maharet And Mekare 😒
@VampireFolkloreVideos EXACTLY. They really did Mekare dirty. The story of the twins is such a HUGE portion of the book, but they discarded it (and baby Jenks and a lot of the "non important" minor characters) Ughhhh but they had Maharet's eyes bleeding and shrugged it off as that's how vampired cry 🙄😤😒 You did an amazing job covering their story. I really hope that this video gives people more reason to read, or reread, Queen of the Damned

You have such amazing videos. I am so happy I found your channel years ago! The detail, thought, research, and video editing are just stunning. I love your vampire and your Harry Potter content! Thank you so much for countless hours of entertainment.
This was superb. The story of the twins & the origin of vampirism is to keep the best part of the vampire chronicles! Your video captures this fascinatingly. I began making short AI image videos as well but already found this exhausting, so I can imagine how much time & true dedication you invested. Love the consistency of the characters (which most AI vids lack), the layering, the scenes & also the subtle effects. Truly artistic & matched with excellent storytelling. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much for that comment. You've no idea how many images i had to generate to make sure i could capture that right moment.. I used Motion effects to cut out and layer the images... 82 different scene creations with layering so about 245 separate images, backgrounds, it was really challenging but the feedback makes it worthwhile. Thanks again!

I just started to watch the video, but I want to say Thank You! The movie QOTD was good, but if you’ve read the books you see how they tried to shove several books into one film. The characters deserved more. And although Lena Olin is a scream queen and a wonderful horror actress, she was all wrong for the role of Maharet. I really hope you do a video on my boy Michael Corvin of the Underworld Franchise in future. Including his role in Underworld: Endless War. Because you did videos on his Lover, his daughter and his two ancient Uncles. So I think it's Michael's turn. Maharet didn't just stab Akasha she set her out in the sun to watch her burn. This resulted in the burning of thousands Vampire. The younger ones died, the older ones were severly hurt and needed Maharet blood to heal. Marius woke up and took the queen back into the chamber.

Thank you for this great retelling of one of my most favorite series of all time! The visuals you created are brilliant!
Seems to me like the Twins may have been some of the first Witches to ever exist...and those added abilities would compliment their Vampire abilities.
Witches in this universe still retain their powers after being turned into vampires?
They were descended of witches, it ran in their mother’s family. Women with their features and traits were more likely to be gifted.
