It’ll just have to be the old 1960-2000s The Amazing Spiderman Series. I’ve read the original (and might again) ultimate spiderman (Peter only) Spider-Man series. Plan to get the new universe ultimate spiderman series 2. Just waiting a bit because you know. Avoiding DEI. I refuse to read anything other than Peter. I find all the other Spider-Man lame and just spin offs. The only Spider-Man to me till death is Peter.
I’d say wait 10 issues for Ultimate Spider-Man. So far it’s been great, issue 4 is probably the weakest one mainly because it has no action and more talking, but it was still intriguing to me at least.
@@Rantman2017 if you say 10 then I’ll wait till 10. I don’t have problem with action being slightly side stepped as long as they nail Peter correctly and actual give me some character development and respect the IP.
Used to read ASM til current Wells(the dude made me miss half of Slott's run for Pete's sake and Spencer) and OG ultimate spiderman until Peter died(and then got brought back for a bit). Read some of the symbiote spiderman miniseries by Peter David. Deadly neighborhood and spine tingling for Juan Ferreyra's art alone(though I prefer Spine Timgling's story over deadly neighborhood). The Ben Reilly Spiderman mini by JMD. Spiderman lost hunt by JMD. Ultimate spiderman by Hickman. For the love of everything good in the world I pray Patrick Gleason and Ed McGuinness get put in miniseries written by JMD (cause his miniseries takes place pre OMD/the true Spiderman) or a Peter David Spiderman mini. Probably missing some other stuff too.
some of these are just spidey being the punching bag for the writers. They genuinely don't understand the concept of spiderman having problems, spiderman has problems so that it leads to a dilemma in spiderman choosing to be a hero or improving his own life. These writers are just punching spiderman without giving him a chance to choose. or just make him edgy for the dumbest reasons
Use to feel this way until I found guides. I started with Amazing Spider-Man (1963) then read tie ins that got my interest. I prioritized this one since this was the main canon so it took me a couple years but I read it all. I did this after I finished all of Ultimate Spider-Man which unlike the main canon is much better as a stand alone and I didn’t even bother with the tie ins except maybe ultimatum. The fact is you *don’t have* to read all of them since not every book is connected. I didn’t even bother with the other Spider-Man titles except Miles Morales since to me those other books are just for fans of the movies. It’s plausible to read it but you need to know what you want to read first.
I still can't get Symbiote spiderman 2099 cause my local comic shop doesn't have it. Also I'm excited for Spiderman black suit&blood(wish the title was just black&blood but whatever) cause it’s JMD and JMS. Most of the other stuff except for the previously mentioned titles and ultimate spiderman I personally don't care for(especially ASM after what Wells and Lowe done to it).
Honestly if you want my advice I just recommend checking out ultimate Spider-Man with Hickman because that book is freaking fantastic and amazing in my opinion.
4:53 That Mary jane Watson is Beautifully Spectacular because that is how we mostly see her as a model or actress than a bs reporter she was in the insomniacverse.
What Spider-Man comics do you read?

I'm currently reading the new ultimate Spider-Man 2024. Only 4 issues out yet and I like it

Spidys getting the Batman treatment that DC used
If that was the case they wouldn't have made his life nearly as traumatic.

I mean, we don't have to read everything Marvel puts out. Just ignore what you don't like.
Okay, that's fair enough

I've always said hard Spiderman is like a cult. This just proves my point lol.
Marvel when they have a popular character people enjoy seeing and years of putting out comics, insane
Spider-Man is my favorite character but they are pumping out way to many books about him and half of them are trash.
Yea I think I’m sick of that shit 2. I’ll just read the old. Maybe read my new flying sparks that remind me of og spiderman.
Read fantastic four 👍
