wow! brilliant - I notice that, this Etude always reached me, as do many of V Herrings pieces; and, as such, am familiarising myself of the repertoire, on the basis of not having played for over twenty-five-years. I am planning to prepare and take my exams again but, this time, possibly up to Grade6 ABRSM, as I have zero confidence; which, means that, I am going to re-commence from Grade1; unbelievable. Life! oh well... at least, the recommencement of this journey will, unavoidably, be different, both, in terms of approach, and, all else. Etude no.37 is the other possible requirement, which, I shall search. Hopefully, you have it also viewable on You Tube. Best wishes.
Just got fourth chair in MI's all state band this year. Thanks a ton for this video as I really tried my best to mimic your sound during the articulated triplet eight bits Edit: now I'm using this as one of my pieces for a Berklee audition in 2 weeks 😬
Start slowly. Learn the rhythms and notes (fingerings) thoroughly before you practice it. Determine which measures need the most work, focus on those. In other words, don't just run it beginning to end.
