I believe you are also supposed to add a pinch of black pepper to this mixture also. It helps the body to digest the turmeric and gain the full benefits of its use.

As a beekeeper, I would like to say that 'Organic' honey is next to impossible to produce. Honey Bees have been known to travel up to a mile in search of supplies, so unless the Beekeeper has an Organic farm of at least 2 square miles and has his or her hives in the middle, then there's no guarantee exactly where the Bees are going and what they are consuming.
    Anyway, it's just a thought.

@@illinidave it may depend upon the country. In India, here are a lot of wild flowers and flowering trees throughout the year. I have seen a lot of beehives hanging from trees and inaccessible rock cliffs. Here, Adivasis or native forest people collect it and sell for a living. It's pure honey. But there are a lot of adulterated honey in the market. Commercially available honey is not good because, it's heated and refined one. The best one used in Ayurveda is CHERUTHEN or honey from The Indian stingless bee or dammar bee, Tetragonula iridipennis, is a species of bee belonging to the family Apidae, subfamily Apinae. The peculiarity of this honey is it's light in color or clear and the bees collect it in pot like bags made up of bees wax. The quantity of honey get from a bag is is miniscule, near about 50-100 milli or less, hence the cost is very high. This is considered precious and have many medicinal properties. We give a few drops rubbing with pure Gold and give it to newborn babies after they are a few days old.

I've been drinking a cup of boiled lemon water every morning, added with1/2 tbsp of turmeric and 2 tbsp of honey with a pinch of black pepper (to activate the curcumin in turmeric).. for more than 30 yrs. I'm now in my 60's but could still pass as 40's, i never have a health issue and never been hospitalized through the years. I suggest to everybody to do the same. Although those suffering from health problems or illnesses should consult a doctor first, because turmeric might aggravate your present disease.

Which is the worst thing anyone can do! I did it myself initially but snapped out of it & feel better for it. 1 cup of distilled water.
I use distilled water because I like the water to have absolutely no minerals.

@@khwairakpamshantikumar5372 no..."Honey should not be heated rapidly, over direct heat. Basically, the hotter you heat it, the more potential for reducing nutritional value. Excessive heat can have detrimental effects on the nutritional value of honey. Heating up to 37°C (98.6 F) causes loss of nearly 200 components, part of which are antibacterial. Heating up to 40°C (104 F) destroys invertase, an important enzyme. Heating up to 50°C (122 F) for more than 48 hrs. turns the honey into caramel (the most valuable honey sugars become analogous to sugar). Heating honey higher than 140 degrees F for more than 2 hours will cause rapid degradation. Heating honey higher than 160 for any time period will cause rapid degradation and caramelization. I wonder though if pepper should added during the initial batching of the honey and turmeric assuming batch size would be enough for multiple days or would you add black pepper immediately before consumption? Would it be more effective or palatable done one way or the other? Testing this is easy science. A good home sci project for teaching scientific method to the younger generations.

You can surely do this! In fact they make vinegar with added turmeric and sell it in grocery stores. One thing to note though, turmeric in general piggybacks on fat molecules for best digestion. So it is best to add or do this right before eating so that the turmeric lasts ‘longer’ during the digestion stage and thereby having it being absorbed best into the body for its health attributes. YOu can easily make your own turmeric vinegar too - I recommend grabbing the Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar as it has ‘sort of a scobe like ‘mother’ in is as you would find in kombucha. This is good stuff. Always shake it before taking/using. To 16 oz of vinegar add 1 to 1.5 tbsp of powdered turmeric. Shake before every use as the turmeric will settle. Lastly, turmeric is also readily available in capsule form. Do note, you should take one 8oz glass of water when taking turmeric, as it can bind some people’s digestive system. And if one every has a tummy bug and loose stools, turmeric is a fabulous (in capsule form) to take to help combat the tummy bug while bringing your digestive system back to order.

Thanks for the info! I take Turmeric & ginger daily with warm lime water… maybe I will add a little bit of raw local honey. The lime juice is so pleasant I never contemplated using something sweet. Just so anyone reading knows. The ginger water is made the night before to drink all day long mixed with more spring water. The warm lime water is taken in the morning with 2 turmeric capsules (they have black pepper added). I never knew all this info in the vid (but I knew some).

Black pepper must be added for the curcumin to develop its properties. Also the best time to take it is after a meal because fat is also needed for the curcumin to work its full strength.

I filled half a jar of raw honey with garlic cloves about a week ago and it's just starting to bubble and turn more liquid and darken up. Can I add turmeric to this or will the garlic and/or turmeric cancel the other out? I don't want to kill whatever good stuff that is just starting to brew in that honey.
Also, for most uses, it's good to add a little fresh ground pepper so the pipperine can aid in absorbing the turmeric. Is that not necessary with the honey?
