    More rules...
    • Don't drive from the track, drive from the driver's stand
    • Don't try to fix your car on the track, go to the pits
    • Just like in races, marshal after you practice
    • You don't own a specific spot on the driver's stand
    • Don't clean your car off in the bathroom (indoor dirt/clay tracks)
    • Remember that you are an adult playing with a toy (literally)

    Another thing when it comes to Marshalling is to watch your corner and not the race. It gets tempting to want to watch all the action but your "job" as a marshal is to watch your assigned section. It's a little pet peeve of mine lol

    Remember, there are kids out there watching. Future hobbyists like ourselves once. Good Etiquette starts with you.

    One thing I try to do when marshalling is if one car takes another car out, especially if its a trailing car and he rams and wipes them both out, is to attend to the lead car first and the offender second. Same thing if the car behind is clearly faster and trying to overtake and the front car wipes them both out steering into him, I marshall the offender second.

    Good job! Couple things you left out was: 1. dont yell/cuss/harshly admonish marshalls and 2.unless you are apologizing or giving a heads up, be quiet on the stand, constant chatter can be very distracting to some.

      The driver's stand is not the place to call people out either, it's not the place for it.

      I agree. Be polite and respectful to those marshaling you. It’s not their fault you crashed.
      And be quiet on the driver stand, unless it’s a positive comment or instruction on how to go around you.

    When passing someone don’t be too aggressive, be patient. If you’re racing the guy in front wait for the best oppertune time. It sucks having your car bumped into the wall because someone dive-bombed you to get past.

    I remember one time when some dude got into the track through the main straight going the opposite direction while a tc race was going on. We had a frontal impact at full speed. My yokomo suffered a broken front A arm, a bent front upper turnbuckle and a tore servo horn. His xray lost one front hub. I was so mad that I left the hobby for about 6 months. Thinking about it now seems so weird and stupid, but sometimes you need to look things from another perspective to realize what you need to improve in yourself

    Bothers me when drives rest their elbows on the upright of the stand with their radio extended outward blocking other drivers view.

      when on the stand keep your body back only sticking out far enough to see when needed and immediately lean back once not needed

    One thing you missed, probably as you don't run loose dirt tracks, is "don't roost the marshal during practice". Obviously during a race you just want to get going as fast as possible, but if its just practice have some respect for the marshal that just flipped your car and ease into it.

    • @RoachRC

  • @Pablo668

    Be careful of your own safety when marshaling. It's easier than you think to step out in front of a car barreling towards you.

    • @dirtrider88
      @dirtrider88 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i did that recently. took a 1/10 carpet buggy flying in the air strait to the forearm. i got caught up in all the crashes happening and was like a chicken with its head cut off not paying enough attention.

  • @jimhimesjr
    @jimhimesjr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Paying attention when marshaling is crucial. I’ve seen so many guys not paying attention then putting a car in the wrong lane. That racers round is pretty much finished at that point.
    My personal marshaling rules are pay attention, hustle when a car needs attention but don’t go so fast that you trip, get hit by an oncoming car or step on one. Be fair and be safe!

    • @dirtrider88
      @dirtrider88 ปีที่แล้ว

      or gives them a huge advantage in which case i have seen most drivers just wait until the car that was behind them passes. which is another point. if a marshal puts you on the wrong part of the track giving you an advantage at least wait until the car behind you passes.

    Another unwritten rule. And I'm just putting this out there for the Driver's aren't considerate to the marshalls. Try not to hit them when they're exiting the track. I got hit several years ago when i was about to get off the track. It was a 1/8 scale truck or buggy that hit my left shin. Broke the skin underneath my pants. I could barely walk out the front door. Yyp. I ended up going to the hospital to get antibiotics. Anyways. Please be mindful of the Marshalls.

  • @matthewjacob5422
    @matthewjacob5422 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree with letting faster drivers pass, but in the same regard I would rather someone hold their line and I’ll pass you eventually than to have them go super wide in a turn out of nowhere when I do try to pass and end up hitting me. Hold your line but don’t be a d*ck and block the guy from passing

    My local track gives marshalls and drivera shit if a marsh flips a car that is under throttle only excwption is nitro since tunibg can get messed in a wipe out

  • @ballpaul
    @ballpaul 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My area has very very limited tracks. And I just get into this hobby.
    I know I am much slower than those guys in the track so I won't put down mine during a heavy session, but only when there are a few cars.
    My question is, should I steer to the side to give way or should I keep my line and let them go through on their own?
    I am talking a significant speed difference. They can manoeuver and go pass me easily.

    • @RoachRC
      @RoachRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends. Usually if someone is faster than me and about to lap me I slow down a bit to allow them past

    • @MonteCarloGuru
      @MonteCarloGuru ปีที่แล้ว

      the rule that my local track has is for the faster guy to find a way around the slower guy.
      helps tremendously in practice and quali. as the slower guys are not able to manuever fast enough.
