- THIS EPISODE OF THE CLONE WARS SEASON 7 EPISODE 10 WAS AMAZING!!! Maul knows about Order 66 and the whole episode has you on the edge of your seat just waiting for it to happen at any moment. Ahsoka doesn't fail us as she captures Maul and the Clones take him away. Mandalore is under Clone control but I assume once Order 66 happens, they'll stay there and that's how the purge happens.
Can't wait to see Anakin and Obi-Wan again in the next episode, hopefully!

The fact that maul screams “YOUR ALL GONNA DIE” actually means a lot, everyone thinks that maul is just angry and wants to kill them all but he means palpatines plan that they are all gonna die without knowing it, he was trying to warn them but everyone thinks he is just trying to kill them

I agree. It was AMAZING and gives the whole story so much more depth and conflict and just a raw organic story. Beautiful visuals. Amazing and epic dialogue. Just a huge win all around. Fantastic. Puts the whole last trilogy to absolute shame in half an hour.

It’s a good line but ultimately it refers to the fact that everyone is f**ked and ultimately helped palpatine in his ultimate goal. This whole episode was just about maul exploiting how naive the republic is.

XxWales15xX He voice Starkiller in the force unleash game. With also voicing palpating. In this episode he really gives the desperation on his voice. I agree, but I think he really deserves more than a shout out. Fun fact he is in his 40 now. I believed that he was in his early 20's until I've found out.
Sam Witwer is who voices Maul, as well as Palpatine, in this show. He is an amazing VA and it really shows. Check out his studio footage where he voices the lines while acting it out. It's really awesome.

Portraying him so calm and determined, simply assured up until the very last moment, make him feel even more threatening. When the madman seems to be in control and 1 step ahead of you and composed, it give you chills.
He actually appear more of a mastermind, and dangerous not only because of it's destructive power but because of his mind. Same feeling in rebel imo.

Listen that fight is HELL DOPE but let's face facts-if it hadn't been for Ezra, Vader would have SLAUGHTERED Ahsoka. After that little sliver of Anakin was able to peak out of the shell that was Vader, Vader seemed INCREDIBLY pissed off and he was GOING after Ahsoka his strokes much more brutal. Ahsoka would've been decapitated if not for Ezra. Nice. Kinda nuts to think that the OT wouldn't have happened without her-she cracked the shell so Luke could shatter it.
Cinderfeather right I think that scene was pivotal next to vader finding out he had a son in him going back to anakin. Dave filoni just fleshed so much out in these two series that it fits in with the OT nicely it compliments the whole saga. But yeah that episode of rebels is high up there of my favorite content especially duel wise

Honestly, probably the best thing about this episode is that you can really feel the chaos coming. Remember the start of a zombie apocalypse movie or game? You could feel that something is wrong. Multiple that feeling a few times and you have ep10.
The entire episode is centered around this feeling that something very big and very bad is about to come. Maul's fear of it and the way he's incredibly worried about what's coming is only adding up to this. It can be seen on his face and the trembling voice that he's afraid of the near future. Moreover, the settings, conversations, soundtrack, everything makes you feel the sinister atmosphere in this episode.
Also, in the hologram conversation with Kenobi, it can be clearly seen that even Obi wan isn't at ease. He and the Jedi council feel a storm coming. The feelings of the upcoming unknown overwhelms everyone. Dooku was killed and Griveous is about to be caught, you might think everyone is happy that the war is almost over. This new episode shows the exact opposite sad reality. The worse is only yet to come.

Everyone knew that Sidious was about to his move especially with Dooku dead and Grievous about to be killed or captured.
Honestly these past couple episodes make me realize how truly sad I am to see the clone wars come to an end. Every time I think ab it now I immediately begin to imagine all the heartbreak Ashoka (my personal fav) is ab to endure along with all the other surviving Jedi. On a grand scale I still can’t get over what a tragedy order 66 is and why it must happen 😂

JJ abrams is well known for making mediocre action films and bad conclusions and Rian has a good reputation and great movies (like knives out) but should have been worked with to more cohesively fuse his ideas and what star wars fans care about.

thats a bit much. he won several battles in clone wars and rebels. kills inquisitors. beat up on Obi once or twice in CW i think. he beat grevious in that episode they fought. killed QuiGon. almost killed obi right after.
In Rebels when Obi-Wan kills Maul. Maul’s final words: “ He will avenge us”. Dang that hits different now.

I can’t get Maul’s voice out of my head when he got captured. He sounded absolutely terrified.
He knows what will happen if he gets captured. He will not be brought to the jedi council but instead to his old master and his new empire. He knows how sidious would torture him. I would be terrified to and would rather die than endure that again.
There's that and during his conversation with Ashoka when she said she left by choice... mauls next sentence shows how badly he's still scarred by being discarded, he just wants someone to understand what it's like to have something you believed in turn on you.

Neat detail: at 5:25 you can see a small little silver ball on Mauls ear, that’s because if I remember correctly Ray Park forgot to take out the ball when they filmed the Phantom Menace, nice how they’ve kept consistent with that.

Ahsoka 521 it would definitely break Anakin’s heart, seeing her align with Maul... In a way I feel like this would progress Anakin’s move to the dark side as he would view Ahsoka’s partnership with Maul as a backstabbing move against him... And it doesn’t help Anakin because, at this point, he feels betrayed by the Jedi Order for one, not informing him of Kenobi’s secret mission when he supposedly “died” in one of the previous episodes, and two, when the Jedi Council straight up said no to Anakin becoming a Jedi Master in revenge of the sith... in addition, Anakin having a vision of Padme about to die would make him go crazy (also in revenge of the sith)

There is a part where Ahsoka tells Obi Wan "Tell him..." and he says "I'll tell him." which I think is supposed to be interpreted as Ahsoka's message to Anakin through Obi Wan ("You were my brother, Anakin! I loved you!"). We know that Ahsoka thinks of Anakin as her brother from the Martez arc, so I think this would make perfect sense.

I feel like his priorities went like this.
1. Revenge against sidious.
2. Saving himself.
3. He may try to help out ahsoka and the clones a bit I think he released jesse because he empathised with him because they are both tools and that includes ahsoka to.
Yes, Maul is an amazingly enigmatic character the more we see him on screen here, and later on in rebels. He’s a sort of conflicted anti-hero. It explains so much of the dynamic he and ahsoka have in the future when Ezra is there at the temple. The connections are amazing and the plot filling done by Filoni through dialogue was absolutely epic, and puts almost all the later movies to shame. Such good character development.

In an alternative world, there could’ve potentially been a possibility where Maul And Obi-Wan could’ve fought side to side against Anakin. This would’ve happened if Obi-Wan and Anakin felt for the bait to go to Maul. Obi-Wan began to realize Anakin was going to the dark side and Maul would’ve convinced him to take out Anakin before he becomes Sidious’ new apprentice.
It is more complex. Dark side is the misunderstood part of the force. Obi-Wan would be in a big trouble against the Jedi Order and the Republic (even corrupted) for violating the priority i.e. saving the chancellor Palpatine. Let remind for Anakin, Palpatine was a father figure and his mentor. By trying to kill Anakin, both Maul an Obi-Wan would hardly affect the inevitable order 66.

It is real. They used Ray Park to play maul and someone else to play ahsoka. Those two actors did it in Motion Capture suits and then it was animated

If you compare this fight to something like Maul and Savage Vs Sidious (which is in my opinion the best fight in TCW) you can see how different they are and how much more real this fight feels.
I thought Maul, when he said “not yet”, was saying not yet to fighting Ahsoka as he wanted to find out more about her first. I think I prefer what you said though.

to me, this is deffiantly the best episode yet, I love how it goes into ROTS, I realised that while watching it, that obi-wan must be on his was to utapou as Anakin already knows of his special task by the council, so we know exactly at what point they are in, in ROTS.
the "no! let me go! let me die!!" part is probably one of the strongest lines I've ever heard.
maul knows what's about to come and he knows he'll be brought back to sidious if he's captured. the following screams about how they're all doomed and going to die really hit strong and the fear and desparation in his voice is done perfectly, I absolutely love his actor!

We basically can see everything what Maul sees. We can totally understand him while noone else does. It is amazing how the show puts us viewers standing behind Maul while he speaks to Ahsoka, we feel what Maul probably felt, we want Ahsoka to listen to us and understand us. Damn... in my 26 years no other show or similar made me feel the way the clone wars makes me feel.
It's literally amazing. I'm sitting down in my lounge staring at the TV screen watching a TV show. Yet it feels like I'm in a Cinema watching a proper star wars movie
I feel the voice acting for Darth Maul in this episode is some of the best I've ever heard in anything period. Absolutely outstanding performance in an outstanding episode, can't wait for Order 66 next episode

I believe that order 66 is the extermination of all Force Sensitives. This includes the jedi and none jedi such as maul and ahsoka. Not to sure why Anakin is an exeption though...

@@Impoopinus some clones did attack vader when they saw him, they thought he was a jedi so he just straight up killed them.
The clone chips were most likely programmed to not kill Anakin/Vader as Palpatine always intended to turn him to the dark side.
I now notice that when anakin killed dooku he had a red and blue lightsaber(I always noticed but I realize something else). This symbolizes that he is being corrupted and chose the dark side when he beheaded dooku choosing the actions of someone who weilds red lightsabers.
If they show Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting again it’s gonna hit different after watching the clone wars.
Instead of that I actually want them to show the Anakin on mustafar with the separatists scene

Maul says he wasn't told everything, only his part in it and then cast aside, he might have suspicions about the clones, he knows they were developed on Sideous' orders, but knowing about 66? I don't get the sense he explicitly knows. And when he says, "not yet to Asoka" I think he wants to engage her at some other time so as to recruit her. It's a parallel to Ezra Bridger - Maul's revenge requires an assistant. Also, Asoka's positioning is significantly influential in dealing with Anakin. Palpatine knew this and why he personally orchestrated her removal from the Jedi when the chance presented itself.

He's ALWAYS spit straight facts. That's why he's such a great character in the show. He sees the negatives of the Jedi because of his Sith training, and he sees the negatives of the sith because of his hatred towards Sidious. But it's only after every one of his avenues results in failure that he sees the big picture and stops viewing things from any one perspective. My favorite thing about the final season so far is that Maul has become the perfect representation of the nihilistic realist. There is no good or bad. No justice. No peace. Nothing. There is only power and those that wield it.
Ironically, this also makes Season 7 Maul the logical conclusion of the entire Sith philosophy
Ironically, Maul has put all the pieces together first. The only puzzling thing is why he wanted Ahsoka, unless she were intended to become bait for one last opportunity at Skywalker

Here is a theory: What if when the windows shattered it was a slight hint towards when Mace windu did that when fighting Palpatine? Then at the end of the battle is when Mace falls and dies and that's why Maul goes crazy cause he felt "palpatine" strong force lighting or something like that.

I thought so too. It looked like Ahsoka paused and felt a great disturbance for a second before continuing after Maul. Thought that disturbance she felt was Anakin chopping off Mace’s hand/ kneeling before Palpatine
@@sabrinaearle748 I'm actually surprised that Ahsoka didn't sense Anakin killing Count Dooku since he did it out of anger and they do have a strong bond so it would make sense if she did feel Anakin in pain or regret.

The lightsaber battle in this is just so good. If you compare a battle from s1 of TCW to the Ahsoka v Maul in this episode, it is difficult not to notice the difference. Early TCW lightsaber battles were kind of like, Jump forward, hit sabers Jump back, repeat. This one is so much more like a real battle and it is so good.

man, this season has the best screenshots ever. Most of them look like stills from ROTS and like they could be live action with CGI clones.
Just watched the episode and I have to agree with you....best Clone Wars episode yet. The bar has been raised so high. I was on the edge of my seat...brought back old feelings watching Revenge of the Sith for the first time. So well done. The battle with the clones...the duels between Ahsoka and Maul...the little touches with Vader’s and the Emperor’s themes mixed in subtlety...absolutely top notch thrilling. I’m so sad we’re near the end, but so excited, too!
could literally go on about how beautiful of an episode this was, but man I'm just still in awe. One more week, then everything changes.........
The 3rd part comes in a week and then only three days later the last episode comes out. I'm hiped but I also don't want clone wars to end.

Things to take away from this episode:
-The mirroring done in this finale arc so far is STUNNING: Anakin's false surrender in the previous ep is a frame for frame mirror to his son's last stand in TLJ, and Ahsoka's line "You'll find I'm full of qualities for you to dislike!" is a direct reference to Luke telling Vader "You'll find I'm full of surprises!" it's amazing.
-the name of the episode is both painful and brilliant as it's a reference to Anakin Skywalker.
-Give Sam Witwer a damn emmy for his performance in this episode he was so chilling
-the ending was omnious as FRIG
-Ahsoka's faith in Anakin makes her fight against Vader all the more heartbreaking in hindsight
-Ahsoka vs Maul is absolutely amazing the motion capture work was truly stunning
-it's also amazing yet kinda sad that CLONE WARS is able to feel like Peak Classic Star Wars yet also fresh and new even after all this time, yet the sequels do not. Just.....speaks volumes to me.

I think Ahsoka said that Anakin would've defeted Maul just to mock him which is actually what Dooku does all the time to make his opponent less focuesd, less.
