Great movement have a few Seiko 5 watches have a lot of quartz watches just spent $400 Ausy dollars replacing batteries I'll be only be buying automatic or solar watches for now on.
I'm very interested in watch movements and any real watch aficionado would be too! The 4R36 was a breath of fresh air when it was introduced into the Seiko Orange Monster 2nd Gen. I don't always wear the monster (have two of them) and it's handy to be able to wind them up and set the time to my atomic clock, I can then see how accurate they are to the split second over a 24hr period. Happy New Year 2023.
@@watchify1775 thanks! I just bought my first automatic, a Seiko SRPE57 with the 4r36 movement and I noticed that sound, like a fast clicky sound when the rotor spins, similar to the one it makes while hand winding
Thank you for this informative video!
Very straightforward, and easy to comprehend!
Aloha! 🤙

"The caliber 4R35 is basically a Seiko-only version of the NH35A. Seiko sells the NH35 to other manufacturers".
More info on the jewel discrepancy can be found here . calibercorner.com/seiko-caliber-4r35/.
Tell me about the 4hz 6r in the Pressage GMT. Why don't they make all the 6r movements 4hz?
My guess would be it is cost related. You will find many consumers who don't want to pay extra for the smoother second hand sweep.
Is it normal for the rotor to make a subtle sound when it spins? Like a bearing sound
Yes. I have found Seikos to be quieter than Orient movements for some reason.
