I am 62, been around gardens my whole life. flowers vegies you name it! What I think would help your plants grow would be deeper soil. but be that as it may, you need t till the soil a bit aroung the plants, fertilize them and water them a bit more. Sweet peas come back year after year, and your snap peas are ready to pick as soon as the pea inside the husk is a size you like, usually the smaller they are the more tender. Love watching you garden because my heart will not let me due to AFIB. The poppys and wild flowers are beautiful!

There are 2 types if I am correct of Nasturtiums. The cascading (often seen in planters drooping down from balconies) and the climbing ones. I have the cascading Citrus Flower colour assortment with variegated leaves. Grew them for the first time this year. They even attracted hummingbirds. I wish I could send you seeds. Thank you for sharing. 💕

    Sun...whats that? 😂
Mancunians exists to rust. Wet wet and wet. With a sprinkle of sunshine.
None the less your growing things and they look pretty good.
Your cabbages look delish. I love vegetables myself. Especially dark green cabbage.
I'd have no trouble eating the red either. I'm interested to see how well your beetroots grow. Its another favourite, though we've never grown them ourselves. They taste so lovely when fresh out of the ground without pickling.
You could have just used some string to tie your netting up, but the screws make it much easier to just hook on and off. So 👍 to that idea. I'm enjoying these episodes. Seeing things develop and grow. 😊x
The allotments all look very well looked after. Thanks for the tour.

Have no worries about the sunflowers not working out this year. Every year brings different challenges, I 'always' grow great peppers, until one year, for no good reason I can figure, they didn't grow. As soon as you get confident, Mother Nature seems to let you know she is in charge. We do what we can, it is that it is, and that's all it is, nothing more. You go a great job, Cheers

id say direct sow sunflowers may not worked but starting from seed not a bad option if you start at home in tray and pot up a few times so when you bring them to allotment they are a size they can survive. maybe option for next year to sow some during colder times on a sunny window sill at home and time spring arrives they ready to go. the ones you direct sow in o ground may not been great but starting at home im sure you have a much better outcome
