Here my habits other than mentioned in this video.
    - Service the car regularly(semi synthetic or fully synthetic give better mileage but also at higher cost, find the balance or promotion deal
    - ignition part replace timely(spark plugs)
    - filling fuel and drive during night or early morning improve mileage slightly due to colder temp(denser air).
    - tire pressure I pumped about 10% higher than stated spec on car(follow tire spec limit than follow car manufacturer RECOMMENDED spec)
    - try each different fuel brand and measure the mileage per tank and then stick to the one that gives better ones,
    - invest in good tint because :
    1-it protects from harmful UV
2-gets cooler fast during hot day
3-with point no 2, it reduce work for ac compressor and helps give more mileage.
    4. With point 3, longer AC compressor life span.
    - choose appropriate car that feeds the need or function which suits your daily driving. Don't drive big heavy SUV for daily solo drive, can go for compact cars. Unless you are rich, this comment not for you.
    - on highway, cruise behind another car(bigger car like van is better) at safe distance, it helps reduces drag and uses less fuel hence increase mileage.
    - see far ahead, it you gonna stop totally then might just slow earlier and hope cars ahead move. The key is let the car keep moving even at lower speed. So anticipate you can slowly crawl till the car ahead moves. It is better to accelerate from 10kmh than total standstill and this uses less fuel to pick up. Also can help reduce traffic jams and safer because cars behind will reduce speed and we can avoid being rear ended.
Sorry for long essay, but these my experience over 20yrs driving.

@@Anthony-eb6fk in certain point I agree. But it is just my test and trial. You do get stiffer ride. Raising tire pressure also accelerate control arm bush wear and tear. But do remember if you go with different tire brand than what the manufacturer tested, the result also may vary different tires different composition. Some soft wall some harder wall. I use Michelin XM2(one of most expensive here in Malaysia) that is always slight(10%) above pressured and it actually gave better handling in straight or turn and firmer ride. But in this context, it is about fuel saving. So reducing friction is the key and increase of tire pressure helps. When you have a stiffer tire, the wall flexes lesser and reduce heat. The flexes in the tires walls causes heat, and the heat is an energy transfered from friction made by momentum which ultimately is fuel. It may be minuscale but it is there. Underinflated on other hand can cause tire wear prematurely too and is more dangerous than over inflated(not exceed tire limit). By adding 10% more than spec works fine for all my cars with Michelins.

one practical way to save on petrol use not mentioned in this program is to not speed. The slower one drives while cruising the more mileage one gets over the same distance...but ultimately in my opinion the best way to get real saving is to drive less and use bus/MRT more

We live just outside a small, very pretty town . But my husband works in a bigger town and needs to drive quite a bit to work. Thankfully his employer allows the scientists to work from home, when they don’t have to be in the lab.
We want to buy a plug in hybrid now ( full electric could be a problem with the snow here, in winter ). But, it’s not easy, to even get one. We could more easily buy a normal hybrid but we think the plug in is the way, to go. So, maybe we will have to be on a waitlist for a few months or longer….

actually most cars can take RON92 fuel. check the owners manual for the minimum fuel grade u need to pump. i've been pumping my 2018 g30 520i with RON92 (owners manual says AKI 89, which is equivalent to RON 92) since day 1. no issues at all. some knocking sounds during engine startup, but it will not affect engine.
best tip to save $$ on fuel is to turn on the start/stop function. engine will cut when you are at red light or stopped for long period of time.
also use eco mode if your car has it. the car will coast and maintain speed for u, and will control your acceleration.

Instead, the car should be hooked up to a dyno and measure engine power output. For a non-turbo engine, there is little difference but the difference is significant for turbo engines (high pressure engines).

The consumption of petrol depends on different factors. First is the driving style of the driver. If we are usually on a go stop driving style. It will give a higher petrol cost. Remember, most car manufaturer will tell you that if we are driving in a city, the km per liter of petrol is lower compare on a long drive which is higher. Second we have to consider the age of the vehicle. Despite that we are doing a Preventive Maintenance of the vehicle. Still the older vehicle will still consume much petrol compare to the newer car. Because of the new technology that most car manufacturer put on the new car. With regards to 95 and 98 octane, lets define the meaning of octane. An octane rating is simply a measure of how heat resistant a fuel is in order to prevent knocking. In other words, octane doesn't enhance combustion - it prevents the air-fuel mixture inside an engine from igniting before it's supposed to. The higher a fuel's octane, It itl is harder to ignite because it requires greater compression to do so than lower octane fuels. The higher the octane rating, the less likely the petrol is to explode under pressure. And all car manufacturers indicate it on the car's manual and on the petrol tank cover. So please follow what is in the manual.

Car manufacturers design the vehicle even if its on a full tank it will consume the same petrol. What you should be aware is the additional load that you will put on your vehicle. Consider driving your car alone and driving with a full capacity (with passenger). Which will consume more petrol?
