My previous comment was intended as a genuine compliment and show of support, with no intention to sell or promote anything. I simply wanted to convey the positive impression I got from their demeanor and authenticity. There was no ulterior motive or attempt to make anyone a scapegoat. Agreed. It's a very different from PM LKY's strong and commanding demeanor. I think it fits current day Singapore much better. In tough times we needed a strong and authoritative leader, but in my opinion PM Lawrence Wong's fair and relaxed demeanor might be great as well. LKY did what he had to for the future of Singapore, and I'm hopeful that Lawrence Wong will do what he can for the people of Singapore.
PM Wong has many many suppporters cos he is very genuine n candid and always smiling not arrogant or proud but so humble and relatable. So glad he is our PM.

PM Wong is so relatable. I grew up 13 years younger than he did. And what he has said are so true. We are into a new world with a different setting. LKY did what needed doing at the relevant time and that may not be agreeable by all in retrospect.
At least he had the spine for what needed doing in the circumstances despite the huge difficulties spore was facing.
Arm chair critics after the fact say much when knowing little.
In comparison to msia...pls, let us not embarrass ourselves with such talk about spore, a country if without the steel of LKY and carried on by subsequent PMs can be where they're today.

Prime Minister Wong, I wish you well and I hope you will be a blessing for Singapore and its inhabitants. I have great respect for what the East Asian leaders and their peoples have achieved. Unbelieveble! I remember a videoclip with the late Lee Kuan Yew answering a question by a student, what he feared most for Singapore. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew answered, that he feared most for the Singaporeans, when they have forgotten what poverty was. I will nevver forget his answer! This is a problem of The West ....they have forgotten what poverty was! I have never been in Singapore and my wish is, I am a Dutchman of nearly 77, to visit Singapore one day.

sad old days, in 1960-70s, there are alot malay kampung house in water(rumah laut), and rumah adat melayu included balai adat melayu(malay community hall), but all gone. just only exist in kepuluan Riau and Riau only, the closer dna to singapore malay and malayic orang asli/orang laut.
