Ky is going to be anazing, I can tell. Somehow Bosco manages always to make my favorite character. I can relate to the self doubt and self flagellation , but it provides me equally enough understanding yet frustration that it has me interested into how he ended up this way. Will he change, will he fall to the will of the world. I’m sure he’ll stand to the occasion, but he’s executed excellently enough to give that doubt. To me he’s sort of the perfect representation of the “regular person” for the group, which in the last game was occasionally dipped into by Panic sometimes. Idk its exciting, because he’s so unassuming, but beneath him, i can sense s great amount of potential.
@@itsmii7785 I've noticed that a lot of people ask him that; his response is usually that he's fine. Personally, I believe him. The little experience I've had with voice acting has shown me that it can be very draining at times, especially when you have to sustain a character for extended periods of time. One way to deal with that is to learn how to turn the affected persona on and off, like a lightswitch. It helps give the brain a break from being "on" all the time, and allows one to go for longer durations without burning out. It's a really impressive skill, which I personally still struggle with a lot. If that's what Mr. Edward Bosco is doing, then it's a clear indication of just how experienced he is with his Craft. It's fun to play different characters and roleplay, but it's important to make sure to take care of oneself as well.

I really hope Isqan gets through his character development fast. The 'character is afraid of his own power' trope is my least favorite form of writing. It's slow, frustrating, and always ends with me screaming the equivalent of 'GET IN THE DAMN ROBOT, SHINJI!'
Ok, I heard Braille dice & as a person with a Visual Disabilitu that made me super excited. Been playing D&D for 2 years online & I started collecting dice, & now know that Braille dice are going to be a thing. I know what I'm getting next. :D
From another completely blind role player, I already have a set from dots are PG. Highly recommend Simple application to get the free dice prior to the exciting business partnership. I am curious to see what will be next.
I asked them whether or not they made or knew where to get braille dice when I order some items from them a few years ago (had a player with extremely limited vision) and they sent me a card for the DOTS RPG group. Pretty cool as you can buy dice or get the files to 3d print your own.

@@mrskeletone5008 I appreciate the question. I have what's called Congenital Glaucoma with corneal transplants. I do have specific glasses that help me see things a bit better. I also use dark mode on my devices so it's not so sensitive on my eyes. If on the computer I use a magnifying software called Magic that let's me also increase the screen size & change what the mouse looks like. While on my phone, I have everything on dark mode, screenshot as well to read stuff if it's to small :)

Bosco said straight up pre campaign that he was going to do something unique that he hadn't seen before. He's more than made his promise since a character such as Ky would only really "work" in groups that trust each other like this one and in quasi-homegame/broadcast shows like this. I know that some will be somewhat frustrated that Bosco hasn't given us speculators much. But thats kind of the point and the charm of the performance. To make us care more for the character than the class. And to that point he succeeded. Which is funny since we may have finally gotten a hint at to what he might play at the end. The story writer in me hopes that Ky, though the training of Gaius, Otho and the others (as well as his own ingenuity with the book) leans into War Mage where he borrows from all hes learned. But at the end of the day, even if he doesn't turn into what I might personally hope. Bosco has a real gem of a character and whatever he, and by extension Ky, chooses to be will be more rewarding than being right ever would be. P.S Frank the Bucket is MVP
I actually have a sneaking paranoid suspension that Bosco is going to Kill off Ky and give us another character I have no proof or any kind of backing evidence to support except speculation based on Bosco as a player since that he loves having tragedy with his characters same with Connor hence why we have them as brothers, and Connor losing his little brother early on in campaign would give him some sad style motivation for either revenge or a goal towards bringing him back. I do wanna state I don’t want this to happen I hope I’m wrong but I just have this sinking feeling.
I'd love to hear where he said that just out of sheer interest. Idk. Maybe because I'm a little bitter about C1 and PD, I just think he's either gonna regress to the character that never talks/does anything because he thinks he's "not a main character" or "Everything I do just makes everyone mad so I'll shut up forever" or he's gonna lean super into being the character that aggravates the chat because he likes to troll. The end of this session did give me hope that he may even start learning to be a Wizard (or is at least interested in that and I loved his roleplay with it and the group) and he actually apologized to Milo, but I've been bitten to many times to believe anything different. I have been wrong before tho, and would love to be wrong here too.
I don't know why... and considering how much he's been using the "Help" action, I think Ky is a Sidekick. Like, Literally, one of the Sidekick roles from Tasha's. I don't have anything to base this on, but considering Ky is glued to the hip with Otho, not getting into combat himself and running away, it's the only conclusion I can really come to
treetown is cool reminds me of golden sun and I love how ky is effectively lv0 until he figures out what he wants to do. I hope wizard that would be cool I've never seen bosco play a dedicated caster. also I kind of hope other players listen back to the video to see how much they step on or talk over one another.
Which is an interesting choice that Bosco went with being level 0 until he decides what his actual class would be. It would make sense why he’s always shying away from fights, he has commoner stats. One hit and he’s dead.
Finally after a 7 month hiatus I finally caught up with the unexpectables I cried at the end of last campaign but I'm loving the new characters and setting and plot and can't wait to see where this journey leads
Just confirming a rules question, but yes; an attack always deals at least 1 damage if it hits unless the target has resistance/immunity to the damage type. Several CR:0 creatures are listed as doing 1 (1d3-4) damage. Anyway, great session guys.
With a penalty, it is possible to do 0 damage, but never negative damage. Perhaps the game designers thought it would be best if the average damage a monster could do shouldn't be listed as as 0.
We just looked it up, and yeah. Apparently a monster's minimum damage is 1, but a player's minimum damage is 0. That is weirdly inconsistent. So by the game's own logic a normal cat always does 1 damage per hit, but a player transformed into a cat with the exact same stats can never deal damage? That just feels wrong.
@@trinitydalfae8478 if you're polymorphed into a creature, you use it's stat block, including what it's attack state. so a player polymorphed into a cat would do the same damage as a cat.
There's something about Mark's characters. Whenever he says a passing comment it almost always feels like his character is making the joke which makes it even better
I'm spreading the theory: Campaign 1 spoilers The outsider is the silver king. The silver king stated he would like to try adventuring and as a silver dragon has a liking for humans hence his choice of form. He wears the blindfold to hide his draconic eyes and uses his draconic blindsense to see.
I like that theory, but then why would he even be slightly afraid or inconvenienced by the wolves at all? We've also seen his human form and there are similarities, but again. Unless we really stretch and say he's constantly holding back for some reason, even a Polymorphed ancient dragon is still just that. An ancient dragon.
Everyone is a badass until someone channels Tommy Oliver and assumes his mantle as the white power ranger. But for real great session, we got some backstory lore, we got a answer for a character's class, and we even saw the return of sun toast. I can't wait till next time.
Hello, Welcome to Pi’s Nit-Picks where for fun I go through new episodes of The Unexpectables and nit-pick it of any instance where how they play and RAW don't line up exactly. Spoilers : I will have to go into spoiler territory, so you have been warned. Disclaimers: I am not telling anyone how to play dungeons & dragons. It's their game, not mine. These are not criticisms, these are nit-picks. I’m not trying to antagonize anyone, I’m a fan just like you. Nit-Picks: 39:30, 1:01:00 : In 5e, taking the Ready action only consumes your action, it does not mean that you can’t use your bonus action or reaction on your turn. 48:20 : Monty rules this saving throw as she does ability checks that are in a tied contest, by using her rule of thumb “aggressor wins”, but when it comes to saving throws, similar to most ability checks, if your roll equals the DC, it succeeds. 56:10 : I don’t know if this is something Monty and Zito talked about beforehand, but you cannot use two weapon fighting with unarmed strikes, as they are not weapons with the light property. 2:08:30 : Fun fact, the creature within five feet of the enemy, the one granting the use of sneak attack, does not have to be friendly towards you, it only has to be an enemy of the target. 2:13:35, 2:24:55 : You can grapple as a bonus action using the Tavern Brawler feat only after attacking with an improvised weapon or unarmed strike. 2:13:55 : When in a contest that ties, The Unexpectables use the rule of thumb “aggressor wins” to resolve them while RAW states that “If [a] contest results in a tie, the situation remains the same as it was before the contest.” This rule would benefit a non-aggressor more so than an aggressor. 2:14:32 : Being grappled does not impose disadvantage on attack rolls. 2:24:00 :Gaius would not be able to move to that position as jumping costs movement to jump, so it’s impossible to jump farther than you could walk in a turn. 2:28:40 : Well, because you asked, with a penalty it is possible to deal zero damage, but never negative damage. So, Milo is confirmed to be a light domain cleric, Isqan is a druid and If we’re calling out off the wall theories, I’m starting to think that Ky might not have a class at this point. Also, In case you were wondering, I am in fact aware that the players are having fun with this campaign, and you know what? I believe that I’m also having nearly as much fun as them. Also, also, I tried eating the entire kiwi for a while and I have to say, much more preferable to peeling it or scraping the insides with a spoon.
According to the monster manual, monsters with negative stat modifiers still do 1 damage. Crab has -4 strength and steal deals 1 damage with its attack (implied but not stated as being 1d4-4)
I realise they've probably figured this out by now, but readying an action does not mean you can't use a bonus action or move. It's the "ready action" and uses your action (just like the dodge action). You can't do anything extra when your readied action triggers (such as extra attack), but there are otherwise no other restrictions.
I suspect there are people looking for Otho and Kye, they seem like runaways. Gaius and Milo and straight forward. Isquan was perhaps the son of a shaman.

I know Mr. Bosco reads the comments here, so I'll just say that I appreciate your voice work in the demi-recently released V.G. Exiles Ep. 4 as John Talbain. I hope if Darkstalkers comes back, you could play him if it gets an English VA cast. That out of the way, I love Series 2 so far. Series 1 rekindled my love for tabletop(I play Pathfinder, sue me) and gave me so many ideas for my own homebrew setting. My Continent of Iiverlice (capital I.) Owes so much to Mr. Zito(TFS at the Table), Mr. Landis(Role With Me), Mr. Bosco(Ravenloft and...Shadowfall? I try to use memory for these things), Mr. McKinley( Ork/Gobtober and Gateway), and most relevant to this series, Ms. Glu(Prince Division, half the one-shots, and Unexpectables 1&2). Thank all of you stellar DMs and People. Your creativity and charm means the world. And hey, maybe we can get Goombah Sama behind the proverbial screen one of these days to show what he can do!
My two current major theories are: -The man in Pudd was a member of the United Clergy of Orun that still held onto the old ways or someone who suffered under the UCO and thinks all Orun worshippers are like that. -Ky is either a wizard that has yet to receive a book or a sorcerer that has yet to tap into his natural arcane ability
Man, i know it has been months already and that this has been a problem before, but you don't need to give up your movemet to prepare an action. RAW and RAI, you just use your actio to give up on your reaction, you can still move and bonus action. Edit: it's also not busted at all, you can lose so many things for preparing actions, like your extra attacks
Hiya heres a list of rules clarification I'm making. This list is not to critize the game or its players, the point is to have fun and not worry about rules. Rather this list is for those who don't play D&D to understand certain differences made in the game and to learn what the book says in case these situations happen in YOUR games. 39:40 Ready action does not restrict movement. It is considered its own action and all it does is switch whatever called action to become a reaction with a trigger. This includes dash allowing one to take additional movement on thier reaction. PHB 193. Monty likely got this mixed up with the new Rogue ability introduced in Tasha's Culdron of Everything called Steady Aim where a Rogue forgoes their movement for the turn to gain advantage on thier attack. 48:28 for anyone curious, it does not matter aggressor or victim how rolls are determined any roll that meets or exceeds the DC/AC is considered a success. So an attack equals AC you hit (PHB 194) if your save Equals the DC then you pass. (PHB pg 179) 2:14:22 in the case of a contested checks if the participants rolls equal then the current situation doesn't change. (Barring a door stays closed) in this case Gaius's athletics check would have failed. PHB 174 Aggressor is a monty rules since Unexpectables 1 so its less an error and more of a preference for them. 1:22:02 this one is interesting because Rules as Written there is no mundane boomerang in D&D 5e, while Monty has made weapons before its likely they saw this in the Dndbeyond weapons list. The only reason that it exists because how Dndbeyond is coded for magic items is that they have it reference mundane items to apply magical effects them. There is a magic item called a Storm Boomerang found in Storm King's Thunder so the only way they could code that in was to make a normal mundane boomerang, which is why it has no gold value in the system. 2:08:40 Fun Fact (and I found this out a week ago) sneak attack does not specify the need of an ally, it says "...if another ENEMY OF THE TARGET is within 5ft of it..." so even if Otho said they plan to rob the man sneak attack would still apply to the wolf. And since it states enemy that means it doesn't necessarily have to be a creature but this would be dependent on DMs definition of enemy. 2:14:40 Grapple does not impose disadvantage on attacks it simply prevents the target from moving, the way its used in 5e is more like grabbing clothing or holding someone by their midsection and pulling them in a violent game of tag which is lame but thats how it be. PHB pg 195 2:26:10 Jumping does not gain you additional movment, Mirthful Leap simply lets you make up distances that you could not normally cover within you movement, good for spellcasters without a decent strenght score. if you have run at least 10ft beforehand a Long Jump is a number of feat equal to your strength score if you have run at least 10ft before hand and high jump is equal to 3 + strength MODIFER these distances are halved if moved less than 10ft, neither of these jumps can exceed your total movement in a turn as either method consumes your movment distance (Mirthful Leap even specifies this but using dndbeyond he was likely reading a shortened version on the sheet). PHB pg 182
The thing I respect about Bosco is he stays in character all the time. The thing I hate is that after all these years he still gripes about 5e mechanics. I mean like I get it, I like pathfinder more myself, but man.
Not only that he also doesn't interact with characters ever and never chimes in with ideas, jokes or just conversation. Don't get me wrong when he roleplays he's great but is inability to interact at all is annoying.
@@jessenielsen7218 dude he's got a different playstyle and he does joke occasionally. He just goes for quality instead of quantity. I love it personally. To be fair it's like going from one video game to a sequel and there's whole mechanics missing but the game plays smoother as a result in the sequel. Most vets of the original title are gonna get salty and its at least almost never the same thing twice.

3:16 I have to counter that there is some people and things mentioned in campaign 2 that are part of campaign 1, so technically yes people should watch the first campaign to get lore and details when the players react to old content being referenced in the current campaign.

Every episode they mix up the aggressor wins thing, it wouldn't bother me if they stuck to it consistently, but every episode it swaps between aggressor wins, and meeting dc wins. Like Monty just needs to get a sticky note, and write "Roll vs roll aggressor wins, meeting ac hits, meeting dc saves" and put it on the side of her computer or something. Most of the rule slip ups or homebrew stuff I'm fine with, but it's just how often that's been flip flopped. But other than that, this was a great session, got to meet the guy who hyped me up most in the animation, mr blind mc large huge. Hope to see more of him, and really liking this cursed village, the guys just can't catch a break this time, hopefully after they fix the ash plague they'll get some time to rest. And as for what I believe everyone's classes are, milo is a light domain cleric, KY a wizard (archetype unknown), ortho a rogue, iscan a druid (archetype unknown) and gaius is.......I wanna say some kind of fighter but I'm least sure of him
The Aggressor wins role makes no sense... when you target Save or the AC, of COURSE you're the aggressor, and that value is purposely there to indicate what you need to roll to hit them... And I think Isqan is possibly an Artificer... (this, because the ability to infuse items only happens at Level 2, and when his class really becomes potent)...
@@Blizz3112 he used cure wounds, ice knife, and mentioned animal friendship, only druids and rangers can get all 3 of those spells, also he said he wanted to look for any druids writing to read, and only druids can read druidic
@@lukedeakin7124 and looking at how he used that staff, and the fact he doesn't believe in God's, he ain't a monk or cleric, and rangers don't get spell casting at level 1, so I'm almost sure it's druid, though I was hoping for divine soul sorc
I wanna say Gaius is definitely a fighter with the unarmed fighting fighting style. Everything else I agree with, though I'm not sure about Ky, cuz who knows with that boy, he could just be trying to do arcane magic like how he tried to cast cure wounds. That actually made me sad cuz I really wanted someone to be a divine soul sorcerer, and I thought that'd be confirmation, but then it didn't do anything, so, oh well.
Btw, ik u say u don't have to watch the 1st campaign to get this but it's so good I have both heard of and know of people who binged watched it several times over b4 it was finished.
1:45:30 what grade is the steel? There are many different types of carbon steel, ranging from low carbon to high carbon with the 4 digit number denoting the type and quality of the steel. Damascus steel, the one typically denoted as the best for swords, is typically in the range of AISI 1075 or higher. A really easy way to tell if a sword is made of quality steel or if it’s a wall hanger is do you have to maintain it? If you do not need to regularly oil your sword, it’s probably made out of stainless steel which is effectively worthless in actual combat.
This is me being an "um actually" guy about something that doesn't actually matter since they are having fun. I'm sure people have covered this already at this point, but I'm that isn't how mirthful leap works. Normal long jumps are a jump distance of your strength score (I'm assuming is around 18 for Gaius), this still costs normal movement when in combat, you are just jumping the distance, instead of walking/running it. Then the Mirthful leap just allows you to add an extra d8 to that total, so he can jump anywhere between 19ft and 26 feet, which still all costs normal movement, so you can't actually jump further than your movement allows (basically if you jump further than your movement allows, you start your jump one turn, then finish the jump at the start of the next.).
@@jackspade77 the Browser extension Beyond20 allows for that, its a 3rd party and well developed application that allows you to use your dndbeyond sheet and it will automatically transfer any rolls to pop up in roll20 chat. Very useful since Dndbeyond organizes sheets automatically and a lot more fluently so we don't have a broken macro situation again.
For those wondering about the issues Gaijin Goomba has with the rights owners when it comes to anime and fair usage, Japan has VERY strict definitions of what can and can not be done (I don't think critique is a valid defence in Japan) and the way copyright is set up in Japan is also complicated, The anime publishing house, the manga publishing house and the person who came up with the idea for the manga can all hold the rights to the show and a person wanting to use images may need permission from all parties to do anything with the images.
Hi Bosco! #17 So, my Tuesday campaign is on its last arc. We’ve transitioned into Descent Into Avernus, which- is kinda rough because I’m playing a pyromancer… in hell, where nearly everything has fire immunity. But! That’s not biggie, really. What’s more interesting is that we are thinking about doing a second campaign. An oriental adventure. Aaaand I have NO clue what to play. XD someone is already playing a twilight cleric, and someone else is definitely thinking about playing a front-line sword person. I don’t wanna play another back-line, though, so I have narrowed it down a bit. Was thinking about classes like monk, rogue, and ranger. MAYBE bladesinger wizard. I am set on a race, however- a moon worshipping pallid elf, from Matt’s Wildemount book, or Tabaxi, reflavored kind of to roughly reflect Japanese legend.
So I Hope I’m wrong then again this is Monty we are talking about but since they are playing an exploration like game I think they a set number of days or sessions I should say before they can fight the dragonlich meanwhile they have a time limit before the dragon repeats it’s attack it’s like major’s mask where you have three days of stopping the moon before it crashes on to the world then again I am assuming

Guns absolutely exist in the unexpectables universe you’ve had multiple examples cannons big and small personal ones Iggy was making a pistol the silver kobolds had laser guns on a giant robot dragon they made hell Mark your first character met a turtle Pirate man with two cannons built into his shell why are the civilizations that we’ve seen backward and afraid of using better technology good question I’m not sure but they do have it lol
No he means Monty doesn't like to allow actual guns into her campaigns, cannons and guns are very different. He'll in prince division connars character wanted a gun to use alongside his monk abilities, and Monty made it so just about everything had resistance to bullets, while normal bows and arrows did normal damage

What a great session! Really enjoying getting to know these new characters, seeing them develop. Fascinated to see what class Ky ends up being. Leaning towards them being a wizard but equally could be an intelligence reliant Bard ( analysing opponents and pointing out weaknesses for bardic inspiration)

Ky is going to be anazing, I can tell. Somehow Bosco manages always to make my favorite character. I can relate to the self doubt and self flagellation , but it provides me equally enough understanding yet frustration that it has me interested into how he ended up this way. Will he change, will he fall to the will of the world. I’m sure he’ll stand to the occasion, but he’s executed excellently enough to give that doubt.
To me he’s sort of the perfect representation of the “regular person” for the group, which in the last game was occasionally dipped into by Panic sometimes. Idk its exciting, because he’s so unassuming, but beneath him, i can sense s great amount of potential.

@@itsmii7785 I've noticed that a lot of people ask him that; his response is usually that he's fine.
Personally, I believe him. The little experience I've had with voice acting has shown me that it can be very draining at times, especially when you have to sustain a character for extended periods of time.
One way to deal with that is to learn how to turn the affected persona on and off, like a lightswitch. It helps give the brain a break from being "on" all the time, and allows one to go for longer durations without burning out.
It's a really impressive skill, which I personally still struggle with a lot. If that's what Mr. Edward Bosco is doing, then it's a clear indication of just how experienced he is with his Craft.
It's fun to play different characters and roleplay, but it's important to make sure to take care of oneself as well.

I really hope Isqan gets through his character development fast. The 'character is afraid of his own power' trope is my least favorite form of writing. It's slow, frustrating, and always ends with me screaming the equivalent of 'GET IN THE DAMN ROBOT, SHINJI!'

I asked them whether or not they made or knew where to get braille dice when I order some items from them a few years ago (had a player with extremely limited vision) and they sent me a card for the DOTS RPG group. Pretty cool as you can buy dice or get the files to 3d print your own.

@@mrskeletone5008 I appreciate the question. I have what's called Congenital Glaucoma with corneal transplants. I do have specific glasses that help me see things a bit better. I also use dark mode on my devices so it's not so sensitive on my eyes.
If on the computer I use a magnifying software called Magic that let's me also increase the screen size & change what the mouse looks like. While on my phone, I have everything on dark mode, screenshot as well to read stuff if it's to small :)

Absolutely loving the new campaign. Everybody’s really showing their range, and the roleplay is just excellent overall.
So, in an effort to hide what class he is, Bosco has fallen back on his old combat strategy: It's my turn? I do nothing.
"it my turn and no one is in combat with me. I take the dodge action and do nothing or I move to where someone is and dodge again."
Bosco said straight up pre campaign that he was going to do something unique that he hadn't seen before. He's more than made his promise since a character such as Ky would only really "work" in groups that trust each other like this one and in quasi-homegame/broadcast shows like this. I know that some will be somewhat frustrated that Bosco hasn't given us speculators much. But thats kind of the point and the charm of the performance. To make us care more for the character than the class. And to that point he succeeded. Which is funny since we may have finally gotten a hint at to what he might play at the end.
The story writer in me hopes that Ky, though the training of Gaius, Otho and the others (as well as his own ingenuity with the book) leans into War Mage where he borrows from all hes learned.
But at the end of the day, even if he doesn't turn into what I might personally hope. Bosco has a real gem of a character and whatever he, and by extension Ky, chooses to be will be more rewarding than being right ever would be.

I actually have a sneaking paranoid suspension that Bosco is going to Kill off Ky and give us another character I have no proof or any kind of backing evidence to support except speculation based on Bosco as a player since that he loves having tragedy with his characters same with Connor hence why we have them as brothers, and Connor losing his little brother early on in campaign would give him some sad style motivation for either revenge or a goal towards bringing him back. I do wanna state I don’t want this to happen I hope I’m wrong but I just have this sinking feeling.

Idk. Maybe because I'm a little bitter about C1 and PD, I just think he's either gonna regress to the character that never talks/does anything because he thinks he's "not a main character" or "Everything I do just makes everyone mad so I'll shut up forever" or he's gonna lean super into being the character that aggravates the chat because he likes to troll.
The end of this session did give me hope that he may even start learning to be a Wizard (or is at least interested in that and I loved his roleplay with it and the group) and he actually apologized to Milo, but I've been bitten to many times to believe anything different.
I have been wrong before tho, and would love to be wrong here too.

Which is an interesting choice that Bosco went with being level 0 until he decides what his actual class would be. It would make sense why he’s always shying away from fights, he has commoner stats. One hit and he’s dead.

Finally after a 7 month hiatus I finally caught up with the unexpectables I cried at the end of last campaign but I'm loving the new characters and setting and plot and can't wait to see where this journey leads
Just confirming a rules question, but yes; an attack always deals at least 1 damage if it hits unless the target has resistance/immunity to the damage type. Several CR:0 creatures are listed as doing 1 (1d3-4) damage.
Anyway, great session guys.
With a penalty, it is possible to do 0 damage, but never negative damage.
Perhaps the game designers thought it would be best if the average damage a monster could do shouldn't be listed as as 0.
We just looked it up, and yeah. Apparently a monster's minimum damage is 1, but a player's minimum damage is 0. That is weirdly inconsistent.
So by the game's own logic a normal cat always does 1 damage per hit, but a player transformed into a cat with the exact same stats can never deal damage? That just feels wrong.
@@trinitydalfae8478 if you're polymorphed into a creature, you use it's stat block, including what it's attack state. so a player polymorphed into a cat would do the same damage as a cat.

He wears the blindfold to hide his draconic eyes and uses his draconic blindsense to see.

I like that theory, but then why would he even be slightly afraid or inconvenienced by the wolves at all? We've also seen his human form and there are similarities, but again. Unless we really stretch and say he's constantly holding back for some reason, even a Polymorphed ancient dragon is still just that. An ancient dragon.

Nit-Picks:
39:30, 1:01:00 : In 5e, taking the Ready action only consumes your action, it does not mean that you can’t use your bonus action or reaction on your turn.
48:20 : Monty rules this saving throw as she does ability checks that are in a tied contest, by using her rule of thumb “aggressor wins”, but when it comes to saving throws, similar to most ability checks, if your roll equals the DC, it succeeds.
56:10 : I don’t know if this is something Monty and Zito talked about beforehand, but you cannot use two weapon fighting with unarmed strikes, as they are not weapons with the light property.
2:08:30 : Fun fact, the creature within five feet of the enemy, the one granting the use of sneak attack, does not have to be friendly towards you, it only has to be an enemy of the target.
2:13:35, 2:24:55 : You can grapple as a bonus action using the Tavern Brawler feat only after attacking with an improvised weapon or unarmed strike.
2:13:55 : When in a contest that ties, The Unexpectables use the rule of thumb “aggressor wins” to resolve them while RAW states that “If [a] contest results in a tie, the situation remains the same as it was before the contest.” This rule would benefit a non-aggressor more so than an aggressor.
2:14:32 : Being grappled does not impose disadvantage on attack rolls.
2:24:00 :Gaius would not be able to move to that position as jumping costs movement to jump, so it’s impossible to jump farther than you could walk in a turn.
2:28:40 : Well, because you asked, with a penalty it is possible to deal zero damage, but never negative damage.
So, Milo is confirmed to be a light domain cleric, Isqan is a druid and If we’re calling out off the wall theories, I’m starting to think that Ky might not have a class at this point.
Also, In case you were wondering, I am in fact aware that the players are having fun with this campaign, and you know what? I believe that I’m also having nearly as much fun as them.
Also, also, I tried eating the entire kiwi for a while and I have to say, much more preferable to peeling it or scraping the insides with a spoon.

According to the monster manual, monsters with negative stat modifiers still do 1 damage. Crab has -4 strength and steal deals 1 damage with its attack (implied but not stated as being 1d4-4)
Well, it's now cannon. Isquan is 100% Mark's luckiest character.
I have to wonder what he did to get rid of his atrocious dice curse. He was almost in Will Wheaton levels of bad rolls.
I realise they've probably figured this out by now, but readying an action does not mean you can't use a bonus action or move. It's the "ready action" and uses your action (just like the dodge action). You can't do anything extra when your readied action triggers (such as extra attack), but there are otherwise no other restrictions.

That out of the way, I love Series 2 so far. Series 1 rekindled my love for tabletop(I play Pathfinder, sue me) and gave me so many ideas for my own homebrew setting. My Continent of Iiverlice (capital I.) Owes so much to Mr. Zito(TFS at the Table), Mr. Landis(Role With Me), Mr. Bosco(Ravenloft and...Shadowfall? I try to use memory for these things), Mr. McKinley( Ork/Gobtober and Gateway), and most relevant to this series, Ms. Glu(Prince Division, half the one-shots, and Unexpectables 1&2). Thank all of you stellar DMs and People. Your creativity and charm means the world. And hey, maybe we can get Goombah Sama behind the proverbial screen one of these days to show what he can do!

My two current major theories are:
-The man in Pudd was a member of the United Clergy of Orun that still held onto the old ways or someone who suffered under the UCO and thinks all Orun worshippers are like that.
-Ky is either a wizard that has yet to receive a book or a sorcerer that has yet to tap into his natural arcane ability
Man, i know it has been months already and that this has been a problem before, but you don't need to give up your movemet to prepare an action. RAW and RAI, you just use your actio to give up on your reaction, you can still move and bonus action.
Edit: it's also not busted at all, you can lose so many things for preparing actions, like your extra attacks

Hiya heres a list of rules clarification I'm making. This list is not to critize the game or its players, the point is to have fun and not worry about rules. Rather this list is for those who don't play D&D to understand certain differences made in the game and to learn what the book says in case these situations happen in YOUR games.
39:40 Ready action does not restrict movement. It is considered its own action and all it does is switch whatever called action to become a reaction with a trigger. This includes dash allowing one to take additional movement on thier reaction. PHB 193.
Monty likely got this mixed up with the new Rogue ability introduced in Tasha's Culdron of Everything called Steady Aim where a Rogue forgoes their movement for the turn to gain advantage on thier attack.
48:28 for anyone curious, it does not matter aggressor or victim how rolls are determined any roll that meets or exceeds the DC/AC is considered a success. So an attack equals AC you hit (PHB 194) if your save Equals the DC then you pass. (PHB pg 179)
2:14:22 in the case of a contested checks if the participants rolls equal then the current situation doesn't change. (Barring a door stays closed) in this case Gaius's athletics check would have failed. PHB 174
Aggressor is a monty rules since Unexpectables 1 so its less an error and more of a preference for them.
1:22:02 this one is interesting because Rules as Written there is no mundane boomerang in D&D 5e, while Monty has made weapons before its likely they saw this in the Dndbeyond weapons list. The only reason that it exists because how Dndbeyond is coded for magic items is that they have it reference mundane items to apply magical effects them. There is a magic item called a Storm Boomerang found in Storm King's Thunder so the only way they could code that in was to make a normal mundane boomerang, which is why it has no gold value in the system.
2:08:40 Fun Fact (and I found this out a week ago) sneak attack does not specify the need of an ally, it says "...if another ENEMY OF THE TARGET is within 5ft of it..." so even if Otho said they plan to rob the man sneak attack would still apply to the wolf. And since it states enemy that means it doesn't necessarily have to be a creature but this would be dependent on DMs definition of enemy.
2:14:40 Grapple does not impose disadvantage on attacks it simply prevents the target from moving, the way its used in 5e is more like grabbing clothing or holding someone by their midsection and pulling them in a violent game of tag which is lame but thats how it be. PHB pg 195
2:26:10 Jumping does not gain you additional movment, Mirthful Leap simply lets you make up distances that you could not normally cover within you movement, good for spellcasters without a decent strenght score. if you have run at least 10ft beforehand a Long Jump is a number of feat equal to your strength score if you have run at least 10ft before hand and high jump is equal to 3 + strength MODIFER these distances are halved if moved less than 10ft, neither of these jumps can exceed your total movement in a turn as either method consumes your movment distance (Mirthful Leap even specifies this but using dndbeyond he was likely reading a shortened version on the sheet). PHB pg 182
The thing I respect about Bosco is he stays in character all the time. The thing I hate is that after all these years he still gripes about 5e mechanics. I mean like I get it, I like pathfinder more myself, but man.
Not only that he also doesn't interact with characters ever and never chimes in with ideas, jokes or just conversation. Don't get me wrong when he roleplays he's great but is inability to interact at all is annoying.
@@jessenielsen7218 dude he's got a different playstyle and he does joke occasionally. He just goes for quality instead of quantity. I love it personally. To be fair it's like going from one video game to a sequel and there's whole mechanics missing but the game plays smoother as a result in the sequel. Most vets of the original title are gonna get salty and its at least almost never the same thing twice.

Every episode they mix up the aggressor wins thing, it wouldn't bother me if they stuck to it consistently, but every episode it swaps between aggressor wins, and meeting dc wins. Like Monty just needs to get a sticky note, and write "Roll vs roll aggressor wins, meeting ac hits, meeting dc saves" and put it on the side of her computer or something. Most of the rule slip ups or homebrew stuff I'm fine with, but it's just how often that's been flip flopped. But other than that, this was a great session, got to meet the guy who hyped me up most in the animation, mr blind mc large huge. Hope to see more of him, and really liking this cursed village, the guys just can't catch a break this time, hopefully after they fix the ash plague they'll get some time to rest. And as for what I believe everyone's classes are, milo is a light domain cleric, KY a wizard (archetype unknown), ortho a rogue, iscan a druid (archetype unknown) and gaius is.......I wanna say some kind of fighter but I'm least sure of him
The Aggressor wins role makes no sense... when you target Save or the AC, of COURSE you're the aggressor, and that value is purposely there to indicate what you need to roll to hit them...
And I think Isqan is possibly an Artificer... (this, because the ability to infuse items only happens at Level 2, and when his class really becomes potent)...
@@Blizz3112 he used cure wounds, ice knife, and mentioned animal friendship, only druids and rangers can get all 3 of those spells, also he said he wanted to look for any druids writing to read, and only druids can read druidic

I wanna say Gaius is definitely a fighter with the unarmed fighting fighting style. Everything else I agree with, though I'm not sure about Ky, cuz who knows with that boy, he could just be trying to do arcane magic like how he tried to cast cure wounds. That actually made me sad cuz I really wanted someone to be a divine soul sorcerer, and I thought that'd be confirmation, but then it didn't do anything, so, oh well.

1:45:30 what grade is the steel? There are many different types of carbon steel, ranging from low carbon to high carbon with the 4 digit number denoting the type and quality of the steel.
Damascus steel, the one typically denoted as the best for swords, is typically in the range of AISI 1075 or higher.
A really easy way to tell if a sword is made of quality steel or if it’s a wall hanger is do you have to maintain it? If you do not need to regularly oil your sword, it’s probably made out of stainless steel which is effectively worthless in actual combat.

This is me being an "um actually" guy about something that doesn't actually matter since they are having fun. I'm sure people have covered this already at this point, but I'm that isn't how mirthful leap works. Normal long jumps are a jump distance of your strength score (I'm assuming is around 18 for Gaius), this still costs normal movement when in combat, you are just jumping the distance, instead of walking/running it. Then the Mirthful leap just allows you to add an extra d8 to that total, so he can jump anywhere between 19ft and 26 feet, which still all costs normal movement, so you can't actually jump further than your movement allows (basically if you jump further than your movement allows, you start your jump one turn, then finish the jump at the start of the next.).

@@jackspade77 the Browser extension Beyond20 allows for that, its a 3rd party and well developed application that allows you to use your dndbeyond sheet and it will automatically transfer any rolls to pop up in roll20 chat.
Very useful since Dndbeyond organizes sheets automatically and a lot more fluently so we don't have a broken macro situation again.

For those wondering about the issues Gaijin Goomba has with the rights owners when it comes to anime and fair usage, Japan has VERY strict definitions of what can and can not be done (I don't think critique is a valid defence in Japan) and the way copyright is set up in Japan is also complicated, The anime publishing house, the manga publishing house and the person who came up with the idea for the manga can all hold the rights to the show and a person wanting to use images may need permission from all parties to do anything with the images.

So, my Tuesday campaign is on its last arc. We’ve transitioned into Descent Into Avernus, which- is kinda rough because I’m playing a pyromancer… in hell, where nearly everything has fire immunity. But! That’s not biggie, really. What’s more interesting is that we are thinking about doing a second campaign. An oriental adventure. Aaaand I have NO clue what to play. XD someone is already playing a twilight cleric, and someone else is definitely thinking about playing a front-line sword person. I don’t wanna play another back-line, though, so I have narrowed it down a bit. Was thinking about classes like monk, rogue, and ranger. MAYBE bladesinger wizard.
I am set on a race, however- a moon worshipping pallid elf, from Matt’s Wildemount book, or Tabaxi, reflavored kind of to roughly reflect Japanese legend.

No he means Monty doesn't like to allow actual guns into her campaigns, cannons and guns are very different. He'll in prince division connars character wanted a gun to use alongside his monk abilities, and Monty made it so just about everything had resistance to bullets, while normal bows and arrows did normal damage
