Also, they mentioned a kind of neat thing in that 2013 Monty Oum (the guy who created RWBY) told Ben it would be cool to see a RWBY character in Death Battle.

Well with Yang, she can definitely take that fall. It's not her body taking the impact, its a spiritual aura that surrounds the entirety of her body. She literally didn't actually hit the ground.

Rooster Teeth gave Screwattack FULL creative control with Yang. RT had no say in the outcome of this Death Battle. They went over that in the actual Death Battle Livestream. But yes, Barbara Dunkelman was voicing Yang in the Death Battle. In fact, both voice actresses, Barbara and Tia Ballard, were there, and Barbara had said at one point that she only read her lines in the script, and nothing else. Tia also didn't know who was gonna win, just from her nonexistent knowledge of FF7 and RWBY.
All of that being said, when it was shown that Tifa was going up against Yang, I was terrified, because of the fact that I know EVERYTHING there is to know about the universe of FF7, but I also really enjoy RWBY, not to mention the fact that Yang is my favorite character from RWBY. If you guys get the chance, Ris, You should really watch it. It's an amazing show, it's beautifully animated, it has a really awesome story, and extremely likeable characters.

"Guess she's _Super Saiyan now_": a line in her full theme is "I'm _Super Saiyan now_"
I Burn is not Yang's theme, Gold is. I Burn was created solely for the trailer.

I'd prefer a FFVIII character (Ultimecia or Squall plz) but that's just me whining. Imo FFVII scaling, in terms of characters powers, is pretty weak in the FF universe.

***** of course not many (only main characters are strong) but when we look at the enemies max potential, ignoring allies because it's hard to tell with rigged items, ff7 is mid tier. Sephiroth needs to charge up to create a giant rock, no offense but that's not impressive. What actually damages the planet is gravity, not his power. Also I'm assuming his supernova isn't an illusion attack. Zack went fairly equal to Sephiroth and died to normal gunfire, not SOLDIER. Ultimecia controls time and space and invades dreams. Caius is immortal and destroyed a dimension. Kefka had similar feats to Sephiroth and Esdeath. Again ff7 is mid tier, not terrible but normal weapons can put them down.

Screwattack made one statement wrong. A reinforce concrete column can withstand a lot of axial load but not flexual load. The 1400 ton force they used is actually axial load via typical concrete compression test. The hit from that mecha is flexual load becoz its hiting from the side, therefore Yang's durability is NOT as great as Screwattack described. However they also forgot to mention how Tifa gets punched through a similar pillar in AC and it knocks her out.
In terms of durability Yang > Tifa, however in terms of damage, there is no proof Yang can withstand Tifa's limitbreak attack before Yang could use her ulti.
+kasper9016 So true, DB team need to calculate Tifa Final Heaven punch damage... the hit more like small nuke force... which more powerful than that mech hit Yang through pillar.
+Ahmad Azwan I actually did the math for Final Heaven's strength, given that it's an explosion and it has to be able to envelope the largest of enemies. Using Diamond Weapon's height and scaling down the debris columns from comparable explosions, I rated the Final Heaven at 150 tons of force. But she got all Yeah!s on her reel which makes the attack a critical or for FFVII double damage. The bonus from Premium Heart and having her limit gauge full quadruples this to 1200 tons of force for that single attack. In my opinion, Yang shouldn't have survived.

Well, that pretty much seals it. Final Heaven is a spirit energy explosion that starts within the target.

I recommend watching the pre-show for the fight as well. They had an interview with the two voice-actors, and how Ben and Chad (Wiz and Boomstick respectively) does some of the Death Battles, like how they pick the match-ups, etc.
Actually, I Burn is not Yang's theme, it was created just so they would have something to play for the trailer. Her actual theme is called Gold, and is very touching and about her relationship with her younger sister Ruby.
Also, I laughed when you said Freezer Burn, as that is the name of an actual move used in RWBY where you freeze an area with ice, then blast the ice with fire to create fog. Yang provides the fire in that combo move. Her teammate Weiss is an ice expert, so she had experience in how ice can be used in combat.
Also, Freezer Burn is the fan name for the ship between Yang and Weiss, and the combo move was named after the ship to kind of tease/acknowledge the fans.

Ice flower was not, leaving some to believe that the shipping name White Rose was left valid on purpose as a hint to the fans, as was their appearance as the flower of choice in season 2.

While I agree that it gets complicated calculating comedic feats gets tough for the guys who make this and Yang is a pretty extreme case of this, Kirby's ridiculous strength feat wasn't actually an isolated thing. In Kirby Superstar there's actually a mini-game called Megaton Punch where you can punch the planet in half.Anybody got a phoenix down?
I think people are neutral in Death Battle, until one of their favorite characters gets involved. In general. I'm not aiming this at anybody here.
I think I can help with what you two were talking in the end where y'all are going on about how durable Yang was with that pillar thing. It's not so much her body that was durable, but more like her aura defended here from 1400 tons of pressure from that mech punch, because as they said, her aura defends herself against attacks.
So I guess Dart will be joining us from now on ;D! Yaaaaaaas. More reactions :D

Entirely for the reason that you both seem to be really distracted by each other, spending more time talking to each other then actually listening to the information

Regardless of who you were rooting for to win, the animation in this Death Battle was amazing. I stopped truly caring about who would win or lose a long time ago and learned to just enjoy the fights for what they are. I've only recently discovered the show RWBY but it's really good and I can't wait for the next volume to come out (today, I think).
I like how they forgot that tifa took an attack that leveled a city and didnt even have a scratch.

This was one of my favorite Death Battles, one of the best since Solid Snake vs. Sam Fisher.
Rooster Teeth and Screw Attack are sister companies, but Monty has said that he didn't care who one or lost, as long as one of his characters was in Death Battle. I think he would have been proud of this fight.

I was thinking of mentioning this but I'll say it here. All the "bullets" in RWBY are all made of dust, so there's no actual bullets piercing people like in real life. Rather, I think the dusts work as kinetic energy that hurts everyone regardless, depending on how powerful their aura is. Just thought you might know Ris.

Its funny how some people think that a character winning somehow makes that series better. Just because super man can lift infinity it doesn't make DC better than Marvel.
you know that saying marvel is better than dc is going to start a flame war so why do it. I prefer dc because it's darker, marvel has shown that they don't care about some of their more adult and dark characters like ghost rider, blade, and the punisher.

The food fight scene in RWBY was really awesome as well. If you want to see something cool that introduces you to two of the teams and their abilities without going into the plot of RWBY then that would be a good place to start. The first two volumes are on Rooster Teeth's channel.

The DB guys kinda screwed Tifa on this one, mainly by the materia they gave her. Granted, Cloud vs Link also saw Cloud limited to only two materia of the same type as Tifa, but there are two big differences between Cloud vs Link and Tifa vs Yang.
1: In Cloud vs Link, both fighters had limitations on their arsenal. Cloud only got two materia, but Link only got a handful of all the items he's ever had. Cloud didn't get his Ultima Weapon, but Link didn't get the Fierce Deity's Mask. Cloud didn't get summons, but Link didn't get bottle fairies. Etc, etc. Here, only Tifa had any kind of artificial limit place on her, which is only made more apparent by the fact that the weapon and armor they gave her have 14 materia slots between them, and they only gave her materia for 2 of them. Yang had no additional limitations placed on her whatsoever.
2: Cloud vs Link came down to a matter of brute force vs strategy. Cloud lost because Link's problem solving skills trumped Cloud's "attack attack attack" approach to combat, and giving Cloud more powerful materia wouldn't have changed that. Yang vs Tifa came down to measurements of power levels, when Tifa's power level is dependent on what materia she's equipped with. Could Tifa have overwhelmed Yang before she unleashed her semblance if she'd had any attack magic other than two of the three weakest in her universe? Could she have survived Yang's semblance if she'd had a Barrier and a Restore materia? Even without giving Tifa any of the game-breakingly powerful materia combinations, just giving her a few more standard materia could have totally flipped the script on this fight.
Of course then, the problem is which materia to give her beyond the two she uses in Dissidia, for which there's no simple answer, since every player is going to have built her differently. My Tifa was a melee wrecking ball of a tank with HP Plus, Counterattack, and Added Effect-Destruct among others. That being the case, Yang vs Tifa is probably a fight that shouldn't have happened, since the result of the fight is too dependent upon a variable that has no satisfactory canon answer.

well, it's bit Yang's body that can take at least 1400 tons of force, its her Aura. They explicitly state this. Aura is a protection mechanism that occurs via the manifestation of their soul. you don't have to worry about the things you mentioned like body density and stuff when you essentially have magical soul armour.
The thing that "died" during that Dissidea clip was Tidus from FFX. He's the main character.

The voice actors of both characters did voice in the fight if you check the premiere for both characters they show that the actors voiced them
Terminal velocity is different for every object and also to reach the upper atmosphere you would half to reach nearly mock two I believe
for yang it is the same voice actress, fullscreen owns both screwattack and rooster teeth, but still the battle is pretty cool and probably acurate

How much you can pick up has NO bearing on hard you can punch. They are completely different things. They use different muscle groups in different ways.
I personally have two complaints with this Death Battle. First: they never said what the aura's limit was. Second: they never mentioned the fact that the final heaven gives her the power of a nuclear explosion. Until these two things are mentioned, I'm going to consider tifa screwed.

THey did get the same voice actor for Yang but it was because part of the reason they did this battle was to promote the new season of RWBY. But they didn't let Rooster Teeth have any imput.
This actually really lowballs Tifa's strength. No idea if it's enough to refute their conclusion, but here are my observations anyway: Throwing Cloud was not a Limit, so 150+ tons is her base attack. I say "plus" since Tifa is established to have weakened since the end of VII & there's no indication she was putting her all into that strike. That's not factoring in stronger weapos or Limits, either. They also didn't factor in the Feint Brawler they said was canon for some reason. Defensive-wise, she was also knocked through a pillar, granted she was KO'd, but it's implied this was due to the stun gun, not the beating itself. And that is without armor. So she is way, way tougher than advertised here.
Fantastic animation & voice acting, though. I laughed my ass off when Dolphin Blow was used.
What are you both waiting for!? Watch RWBY! Animation is top notch, the characters are fun, fight scenes are amazing, and there is a lot of funny moments. I recommend it to anyone. (and if I remember well, it is the first American anime to be officially sold in Japan)

The reason they went over Tifa's limits so much is because we actually know those limits, with Yang there really is no known limit to her power. Also I can agree about the fact that is just a cartoon/anime thing, but at the same time we are pitting fictional characters against each other with fictional powers so you need to take everything into account.
