      Personally I really enjoy VOY, but I can understand why some people don't. And it's honestly because it challenged a lot of preconceived notions of uniformity amongst canon. Where DS9 showed the lines of morality more grey, VOY showed the lines of rank & file more grey. DS9 & VOY showed us that Starfleet isn't a bunch of goody-goody scouts, but can still strive for egalitarianism all the same. A notion lost on later series and non-canonical content that followed after ENT that depicted Starfleet as antagonistic and amoral.

    • @campbelldowler1396
      @campbelldowler1396 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's just bad writing; however, from one point of view it IS morally reprehensible.
      In the future that Admiral Janeway comes from (which is the same future Picard sees in TNG's finale) Starfleet is relatively similar to how it was in the last. It simply seems slightly higher tech.
      However, since Admiral Janeway did her time "wishy washy timey wimey", the future is now what you see in Star Trek Picard. Rejoice, for Janeway created Star Trek Picard with her frivolous time travel.
      PS: this is a big joke. I really don't care one way or another. The original point I had was that it was bad writing. That's it. They didn't work for the answer, it just fell in their laps.

      Honestly I think the bigger question is how the hell is there still a ship. Full Impulse, if I remember right, is about one quarter the speed of light. At that speed, with the size and mass of Voyager, I'm pretty sure it would have done a hell of a lot more than compact the bottom decks and bury it in the ice. Especially after the antimatter containment in the warp core would likely fail and all that antimatter would then be loose.

    • @axenledgie1423
      @axenledgie1423 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      th-cam.com/video/lkVI44a0Hcc/w-d-xo.html
      Look at the way Voyager's nose bounces up after that impact. That's a HUGE g-force spike right there. Just that impact should have been enough.
      Remember that inertial dampeners do literally nothing with weapon impacts? I mean, it's all the can do to keep themselves from flying across the bridge every time a little photon torpedo hits the shields.
      Inertial dampeners seem to do better with broad strokes, like going to warp or throwing the ship into a spin, and quicker, unplanned changes in velocity slip through the cracks.
      So, looking at how her nose just flicks up so fast and so far after the planetary impact, it wouldn't be unsafe to assume that literally every solid on Voyager would have been damaged to some extent, and the fleshy crewmembers should have been liquefied.

    How did did the Delta Flyer make it throw if it needed corrections also or is this a hole loop or did Voyager because it was a larger ship need special corrections...it make my head hurt. At least Harry is no longer a ensign...even though they made LT. Paris a ensign then back to LT and they also promote Tuvok to a LT commander they could have made Harry a LT but he was a butt of many jokes next to the Doctor he has been made captain more then Chakotay and Tuvok yet he was only an ensign the whole 7 year journey and he never gets the chick.

    How difficult was it to just miss the planet instead of crashing into it. Seriously it's too much of a convenience that they emerge directly into the path of the planet instead of a star or black hole in the way. Were they intentionally trying to bullseye crash the ship into the planet instead of being stuck in orbit.
