    I’ve been using a surf watch to track speeds. I’m really interested in the top speed of these compared to my 925/1125/1250.

    Hey Matt, thanks for the video. I’m really confused though, doesn’t take much! 😂 I’m a winger learning to tack both ways and I am riding a CF 2050/195 or 300. It seems to work well and I am getting through my tacks. Is this still the best set up for me or is there a better setup now? 80kg, 88l board cheers, Clive

    Aloha Matt! I've heard to size down one size with the new HAs from the V1s. So would you say the 1080 is comparable to the 1125? like the 880 is to 925? Those have been my two go to's for surfing small to solid waves and winging. Thanks! Max

      Yes 880 and 1080 will be similar sizing to 925 and 1125 just much easier to ride.

    Matt great review! I think you have ridden the Axis Spitfires. How would you compare say the 1100 SF to the 1180 HA in terms of glide, low end stall speed, turning, ease of pumping and getting up on foil in light wind conditions (WF). Thanks.

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the comment. Yes I have winged and proned the Spitfire a couple of times. Considering you have rigging(mast, fuse, tail) similar, you will find that the HA1180 will have much more glide, will be faster and turn rail to rail better. These are both pretty big foils so won't have blistering speeds but the HA will out pace the SF1100 on pretty much every category. The difference besides those metrics are that the SF feels very locked in and ultra stable and not too fast. Some more entry level riders need and like this feel. Both are good foils, but I found that the Armstrong wins by a long shot.

    Hey Matt what foil would you use to prone with the FDGen2? Im using the MA1475 butvwant something in the new HA range which is more surf orientated but gets me up on the foil like the MA1475? Im 90kgs

    Thanks for the great content Matt.. 200 lbs.. wing in la ventana and alaska. i recently got the 1125 used and wing it with the 180 speed. also pair and like the 1225 MA and 1550 v2 with the 180.sounds like 1080 would be good for me? Does this foil improve the breaching characteristics like the 1225 MA does? if i am hearing you correctly this comes up on foil much easier than 1125. How do you compare the take off speed and ease, overall speed, and stall speed with 1225 MA? Better to go a size down from 1080 for winging and grow into it?

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes these new HA do come up on foil much easier than even the MA of similar size. They have a very progressive power band on them. The breach characteristics are very good but not as good as the MA line up. Those are second to none and I still really love winging the MA. If you want a similar size to the 1225 with more glide and similar take off, then get the HA980. If you want one size up with easier take off and a lot more glide then the HA1080. I pair most of these with the Speed 180 or 140. I surf the 180 and wing the 140.

      @@REALmattnuzzo which of the new HA V2 line has comparable take off to MA1000 or maybe a little easier? Which one would have similar top end speed to the MA1000. Asking for a friend.

    Hey guys - I'm ~190-195lbs and have been surfing the MA1000 with either a chopped 232 or a v stab. On the face the setup feels great but just a little bit small for me i.e the stall speed is a bit high at my weight for linking up rides. I can link a couple, but even the slightest mistake with my rhythm and i'll drop off foil. What would you recommend from the new HA range based off this? Torn between the 980 or the 1080 - ideally something that would be an easier to pump and glide version of the MA1000 (Somewhere between the MA1000 and the MA1225?).

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah go for the HA980. The HA880 compares more to the MA1000 in size but I think to make the connecting waves easier, then get the HA980.

  • @krispewkrem3

    Seems like a high camber HA. I’m sure there’s more to it.
    My HS1250 has been my go-to surf foil. The HA925 became one of my favorites but the stall speed is just so high.

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep that is exactly what the new HA is. I would say theHA880 would be the right call for you.

    Hey Matt, thanks for the infos. My main sport is Wingfoiling (on lakes). I own MA1225, HS1550 and MA1750 and I am around 80kg. I would like to add an HA below the MA1225, would the HA880 make sense as the next smaller step? Or do you say for winging still MA800? Thanks in advance!!

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey bro. Thanks for the message. Yeah go HA880. The 980 is similar size to the MA1225. With the 880 it will be better than the smaller MA for glide on the small short period lake bumps. That foils will have take off almost as easy as the 1225 too. The new HA are really next level.

      @@REALmattnuzzoHey Matt! That’s what I hopped for :) will order an HA880 for my quiver then to have something little smaller then the MA. Can’t wait to try and it’s confusing me that this should work more easy as an MA from shape perspective. Thanks Bro🤙🤙

    Hi Matt - I would like to replace my MA's with the new HA's I mainly Wing on a lake with good size bumps which I like to link and glide - I mainly use the 1225 for this as the MA 1000 doesn't pump and glide that well - I also SUP Foil with a Foil Drive with the MA1225 - A friend recommended the HA 780 and a 980 as a quiver and maybe a 680 for super windy days and tow foil?

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Very cool. It is a bit hard to get your head around the sizes of the new HA as they run way bigger than his previous foils. For what you are doing, the HA980 will compare in size closest to the MA1225. I agree that the 780 and 980 will be an awesome compliment to each other and the 680 will be an easy to get on foil to ride when it is cooking out. Depending on your weight, you might consider the HA1080 for sup and light air wing to get max pump out of it. I ride the HA1080 for surf foiling when it is small or I want to be able to connect waves with out thinking about it. The new HA are really user friendly and so fun to ride. The HA don't have the breach recovery of the MA but they do have more low speed lift, lower stall speed and more glide.

    I am 160 lbs and just started prone foiling with MA1225 on small size mushy waves (and winging for a while with the same foil).
    Which new HA should I consider? 1080? 980? 880?

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Cool. It depends on how well you surf and how you want to build your quiver. The 980 is a similar size to the 1225 with a lot more glide and much better pump for prone. If you are riding small waves and want something that will pump for ever then get the 1080 which will double for light wind winging. The HA880 is my go to at 170 lbs for prone and that will be one size down from the 1225.

    Hey Matt, good to have a quick off the mark review. If the all new HA are more user friendly and turns better than the former HA at comparable sizes, how do they compare in terms of speed? Shall we downsize the new HA to get same speed as former HA?

    • @REALmattnuzzo
      @REALmattnuzzo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Top speed is about the same per size so the 880 runs at similar top speed to the 925. The biggest difference is that the 880 has a much smoother powerband, is easier to get on foil, can go a lot slower when you need to and has a more fluid turn. The main difference is the stall speed is so much lower that you can ride a much smaller foil than you normally do. I think a lot of people are going to be pleasantly surprised.

      I like the speed 180 for surf and the 140 for wing.
