  • Hey fellow surf addicts, so I had the chance to ride the RNF 96 in Light Speed, from a mate I met travelling here in Indo. I managed to get a first impressions done, and it didn’t disappoint. The RNF makes surfing fun, and stress free. It’s fast, has hold and doesn’t struggle when the waves are good or bad. I’ll get my hands on a PU as soon as possible. The Lightspeed felt really good, so if you like epoxy’s, I would recommend the Lightspeed.

    Hey mate, did you like this better than BV2? After something for summer conditions to sit underneath my daily driver. Yewwww cheers.

      For me personally, I’ve only ridden it in the lightspeed epoxy construction, but I prefer the RNF 96 to the BV2. There’s a bit more spark under foot for me personally. Both great boards though, for a range of conditions.

    What’s your impression about light speed ? Only eps board I surfed was FireWire helium and it was really stiff…

      @@philippepetitpas1883 I didn’t ride it enough to get a full verdict, but it felt alive and not too on top of the water. If I purchased it, I would go it in a PU construction, as I prefer PU’s generally. It’s a great board nonetheless if that helps.

      How you going mate, I weigh roughly 68-70 kg’s, and it does go faster than the BV2 for sure.

    I liked my BV2 but felt sticky at times with regular thruster set, RNF is on my radar hopefully it doesn’t feel as sticky

      The RNF is best ridden as a 2+1, either with The MR Twins in FCS 2 or The Futures T1’s.

    Nice one mate! I'l considering getting one as well. It would be helpful to know your weight as an indication for the sizing. Would you also take one with more volume under your feet? Cheers

      @@bigben007ch Hey mate, I weigh roughly around 70 kgs. In regard to volume, If I purchased an RNF 96 new, I’d most likely buy one with more length. I had the RNF Redux, which is still my favourite board to date. It was a stock 5’5 19 1/4 x 2 1/4 at 27 L, and that was perfect. I personally wouldn’t buy the RNF 96 in a 5’3, as a believe length is your friend. However, my performance didn’t feel hindered if that helps.

      @@jakesboardreviews thanks a lot, that is really helpful! I weight the same. I'll head to my local Surfshop and grab the stock one (at a sale price :-) I saw this week.

      For me, The RNF 96 doesn’t feel as loose as the black baron 2.1, and it’s easier to ride in my opinion.

      @jakesboardreviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jacobtomazin1283 In The Lightspeed construction, I don’t think it would hold as well in bigger surf. If you want it to perform in slightly bigger waves, I would say buy it in a PU. However, I haven’t fully reviewed this one as of yet, so I can’t give a full verdict.
