My uncle took care of my grandmother instead of putting her in a assisted living facility, there are days where I think that he should have instead of taking care of her. The things that he had to do for her and having to see her rapidly decline due to her dementia was horrible. It has been a year since we lost her and I know she is at peace but there has been a piece of him missing since then, he still can’t talk about it without shedding a tear. Paige, you are doing amazing. Like you said, everyone has to experience grief and the loss of a loved one at some point. It’s inevitable no matter how rich or poor you are. I lost my Mom about 8 months ago. I lived with and took care of her for the past 10 years. I'm in the process trying to get rid of mom's things, but I'm not doing too well for all the reasons you've discussed in this video. None of it is easy. Your partner and family are blessed to have you on there side. You are so compassionate and understanding regarding, especially in this situation. Your partner is so lucky to have you by his side during this difficult time. Keep on doing what you do best, which is listening and compforting him. Lastly, I'm grateful you made the connection between what his dad said about you a couple of years ago, and his state of being at the present time. My advice is for you to is to continue showing up for your FIL. One thing life has taught me is to try and never have regrets. I'll continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I needed this video today. I’m 24, and have had sooo many surgeries and health issues come up. I just got married and graduated university, and I’m going through a lot of life changes at the moment, but I always have this lingering anxiety and depression. (Even though I have so much good going for me). I constantly battle thoughts of negativity, and I seriously cannot thank you enough for being so open and vulnerable with us. It makes me realize that life goes by so quick and thinking about the what ifs or the what will happens will make it harder for me to live my life. I’ve put everything on pause because of how severe my anxiety is, and I seriously appreciate this video! !! You are an amazing person Paige!! 💗💗

Yes, this brought back sad memories about my in-laws, their dementia and what happened when they passed away 2 months apart. So hard for my husband and his siblings. I admire your honesty and it doesn’t hurt for other people to hear the reality of life and what most of us have to face one day. I’m 65 now and try to enjoy life in the moment. Your videos have been getting me through this past week.... I'm getting married in 2 weeks and my fiancé is currently in hospital so my stress levels have been through the roof! Side note: my nan is in sheltered accommodation (what assisted living is called in the UK), and it's the best possible decision we could have made for her. She has her independence whilst being able to rely on having people around for her safety and socialisation. Wishing you luck with the rest of the process in selling his house. im not sure if its much help, but i lost my mom to cancer a year ago, the one thing i really learned was to take every moment and hold it close, it's cliche but you'll misss it one day when its gone. cherish everyone and make sure you tell them how much they mean to you, because in a blink of an eye they can be gone.
