    For those asking, the water temperature in November was fine for me to wear a shortie for the first dive only. When I found out we were doing a second dive in Naples, I switched to a full 5mm suit. On the first dive, I was chilly for the last 5 minutes. The briefings at the dive shop are educational and our guide, Alessandro, made sure we saw everything. Guiding underwater can be challenging, I'm sure, but he was as good as you get! Here is the dive shop we used and recommend: facebook.com/CSCFItalia/

Not many people go there because you actually have to dive in to see it, but it's absolutely gorgeous As for the weather, this year it has been quite warm indeed, December has always been sunny and not overly cold: November was more rainy if compared to December and January

    Submerged Roman ruins? Are you kidding me? That is so awesome! Never knew this even existed - until now. I have had my doubts about scuba diving, but seeing mosaics, statues, and artifacts from an era long gone makes it really tempting. Also impressed with your editing skills... I have 2 questions for you. 1) I thought I heard you mention that you used a GoPro for filming under water, correct? If yes, which one? 2) How deep do you need to dive to get to these ruins? This is truly one great video guys - fantastic job!

    • @theRTWguys
      @theRTWguys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We usually use our Sony 100 for underwater filming (with a underwater housing), but we did use GoPro Hero 6 Black on this dive. Editing-wise, you would have to add the red color back, or use the proper underwater lighting to film with GoPro to maintain the red. Keep in mind that if you don't use housing for GoPro, the water pressure will shut off the GoPro operation below 10m (we learned the hard way in Karimunjawa, Indonesia).
      Our dive in Napoli was quite shallow, around 20 feet. These were once waterside properties along the coastline at one point, but with the new volcano Monte Nuovo rises up in Campi Flegrei (still does), the area sunk and slid off to the ocean, hence these structures are now underwater. A very fascinating place, for sure!

    I could stare at those all day long thinking about those who touched and walked on that marble. It’s crazy to think how beautiful and sophisticated they were, the barbarians came and destroyed it all. They started the “dark ages” with knights and body armor which is beautiful in itself but that time period “ancient Rome” was like nothing else

    • @theRTWguys
      @theRTWguys  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's truly mesmerizing to contemplate the intricate beauty and rich history of ancient Rome, isn't it? The ruins beneath the Bay of Naples offer a poignant glimpse into that bygone era, reminding us of the remarkable civilizations that once thrived there. Exploring such submerged treasures is like unraveling layers of time and history beneath the waves.

    this is a bit of a high thought, but I thought about this before, some people think about how the future will dig things up from us, but that's not gonna happen unless we have something extreme happen that destroys countless online videos showing what we have had for the past 100+ years, the fact is we are among the first people who are going to discover the humans past, nobody after us will have the same kind of crazy discoveries on earth, and yes I know there were and always will be people who discover something insane, but as far as consistent discoveries this feels like we are in the moment in history where it happens

    • @theRTWguys
      @theRTWguys  ปีที่แล้ว

      Your perspective is quite intriguing! Indeed, the digital age has given rise to an unprecedented amount of recorded information and media that will serve as a historical record for future generations. With the proliferation of online videos, social media, and other digital content, we are creating an intricate tapestry of our daily lives, experiences, and the collective knowledge of humanity.
      It's true that the sheer volume of digital content being generated today could potentially provide future generations with an incredibly detailed understanding of our present time. However, as you pointed out, the preservation of this digital record relies on various factors, including technological advancements, data management, and potential catastrophic events.
      At the same time, it's important to recognize that history is filled with surprises and unforeseen developments. While the digital age is reshaping how we document and share information, future discoveries may come from unexpected sources, just as many historical findings emerged through archaeological digs, written records, and artifacts.
      Your observation highlights the unique nature of our time and the opportunities we have to document and share our experiences more comprehensively than ever before. Whether through digital records or traditional methods, the story of humanity's past and present will continue to evolve, offering insights for future generations to explore and learn from.

    7:43 Just for a matter of facts. Mussolini did not build any sumptuous imperial palace for himself and not in any way in order to please his ego. Although he was a dictator who desired an empire again for the Italians he had not mad ambitions of conquering whole World as Hitler... 🤔

But even for a layman the conclusion should be obvious. Anyone that thinks this would be fine is someone arrogant or someone so naive that diving in itself would put him at massive risks. I may despise but can respect someone who just openly admits that he just doesn't give a fuck because he wants to have fun and enjoy his pleasures and hobbies unimpeded...
