      @@Arpedk yes, and when I say too expensive I mean relatively. Compared to other similar size cars it costs almost twice as much. I drive a diesel BMW which is extremely fuel efficient, and is an infinitely nicer car (to me) both in looks and quality. The Model 3 is a nice small car, but nowhere near as nice as anything costing comparable money.
      My neighbour drives a Nissan Leaf. If your goal is to go electric to save money and you don’t care about style, that car makes much more sense, in my opinion. The Model 3 is more stylish than a Leaf, but it also costs way more and still isn’t a very nice looking car.

    • @kenhiett5266
      @kenhiett5266 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@superspeeder You have to step up to a 5 series BMW to come anywhere near the leg room and storage capacity of the Model 3, and only the most expensive versions challenge the Tesla in performance. The Model 3 AWD long range will be significantly less to own and operate over the 5 years of high mileage in my usage case. Furthermore, Tesla's don't have the quality control issues they used to and the Highland is a big step up into a premium state. I'm not sure what Model you're referring to, but BMW's quality and design direction is hit and miss at best, especially as of late.

      @@lemongavine In most countries it is illegal not to indicate when leaving a roundabout, i.e. while you are already turning the wheel. And some countries have lots of roundabouts. And in many countries, with smaller, twistier roads (the whole of Europe) you are often needing to indicate a turn while you are going around a bend. Having to take your eyes of the road to try and see where the indicator button is, while you are on a roundabout, is quite dangerous.

    • @everythingisinflux
      @everythingisinflux ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be for several factors, such as New tires versus worn or AC use could have been higher. I would guess the most likely difference in range comes from their unscientific method stating both started at 95% charge, they didn't say how far they ran it down omitting how low they took the state of charge. My guess is they drove them down to the same percentage but with both cars likely on different versions of software the percentage meter is probably not calibrated identically between the two vehicles. Its also not a very good way of measuring range it would be like if I took a car and said I started both cars at a 3/4 of a tank. A true range test would have ran the cars from absolute 100% and until the car was in limp mode.

    • @ABG2412

    With the NVH testing, the highland had bigger wheels so that's why it didn't perform better, but if it's the same with those wheels than the old model with the more comfortable setting then it's an improvement but that hopefully isn't at the expense of handling. tbh this isn't going to be a huge upgrade over the old car, it is really just a refresh.

    As far as the car... they've made lots of little changes. I've only got 48,000 km on my 2022 Model 3 RWD but this may make a nice replacement once that car is at 300,000 km. I hope Fremont improves their build quality though, because my '22 has quite a few creaks and rattles inside that my previous $25k Mazda3 lacked, even when I sold it at 210,000 km. What they didn't show is the car automatically selects the gear for you about 90% of the time. It knows if you're in your garage, you want to reverse out, so it automatically selects reverse. Plenty of clarity to what it's doing. I've been using it for several years now and it works well most of the time. About 5% of the time it doesn't have the right gear directly selected, but easy to change. I also expect it will continue to get better, as Tesla never stands still (and they provide free updates for years, unlike other automakers).

    • @tesla_tap
      @tesla_tap ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not a real concern. I've been using it now for over 2 years (Model S), and it take all of a week to get used to it. They also didn't talk about how the car automatically selects the gear, so about 90% of the time it's already set and you go. It is automatically set about 90% of the time. There is plenty of clarity to what it is going to do. For example, if you are in your garage, when you get in, it knows you need to reverse out, and it selects Reverse. Signaling is also easy, even in roundabouts. You have to use it for a short time to find out, but it's one of those things that until you use it, it seems like a poor design. I prefer the stalkless design now.
