I love how you say that the "rounder" side isn't bad or ugly, but rather you show us how easy it is to manipulate with your eye shape and change it into something that flatters you more. Thanks dude. DUDE. ❤️
@Madeleine L completely agree. I have super downturned eyes and the fox eye makeup just looks funny like im trying to overcompensate. The rounder eye looks way better on us!
Some people look better with a "rounded" eye rather than a "cat eye," or "fox eye," Not sure why that is, I guess it's the way it looks on their eye shape. In the Hilary duff makeup tutorials (vogue) she mentions she doesn't like a cat eye, the rounded look is smoking on her, but not everyone can pull it off.
@Madeleine L my eyes are VERY almond shaped, and a bit hooded. Rounded makes my eye shape look bigger and rounder VS cat eye making my eye look more closed off and small

As always: I love that you don't have a, "do this, not that," approach. You just show us different ways to do things, and both have their positives. You help us learn how to bring forth the qualities we want, without being like, "this is the right and wrong way." You're a good teacher.
After doing my own makeup for 35 years...I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it 😆 and I owe it to you. Yeeees!! I was just thinking the EXACT same thing! I've watched so many videos and tried to follow so many different tutorials, but no matter who I followed or what their technique was, I've still never been happy with how my shadow turned out and I couldn't figure out why because I THOUGHT I was following them fairly well. It's only now, seeing these two looks done side by side, that I'm picking up the fine details enough to notice what the differences are. Those slight adjustments are so super subtle and tiny, but they make a HUGE impact on the look and make all the difference. Now, after literally years of trying (I'm 36!) to achieve something so particular, I finally know what to tweak! How did it take so long for someone to come up with this concept?? 😆
I watched a video of yours once where you mentioned using eye shadow to sort of contour the eye, and I've always stuck by that idea, so getting a full video of how to manipulate your eye shape is a godsend
Things that changed in my make up routine because of Alexandra: * Concealer placement * I shortened my brow tails and changed their shape * Eyeshadow placement (fox eye tutorial) * Bronzer placement * Blush placement And I don't contour and I don't use any highlight. So pretty much everything 😂😂
The “Dude” series is back!! As I’m getting older, I find it so much more flattering to place my shadows as you did on your right eye. My eyes are very round too. If I follow my natural crease, my eye looks even more round, pretty, but not what I want when trying to lift everything upward (cuz gravity is working it’s magic dragging everything down!). Your instruction and demonstrations are SO helpful; I feel like I learn something in every.single.video!! I know you are beautifully young with gorgeous bone structure, but do you think you could create an entire look for more mature women? Many parts of the makeup routine are placed so differently as we age. I think your talent and natural teaching ability would be so helpful. Thank you so much for creating this series. You are the best!! 🤗
Especially if she could find an "older" model, like 40-50. I'm 42 and my already partially hooded eyes now have like fat saggy piece that idk how to deal with. Nobody addresses it especially with color.

I love this series comparing how makeup can alter your features, but it feels like the end game is always "model-hot, but in two different ways." I'd be curious to see effects that don't happen to correspond to current beauty standards. Like: how SMALL can you make your eyes look, and by what method? What does it look like if you highlight the stuff you'd usually contour and vice-versa? What if you UNDERDREW your lips in a dark, matte colour? Etc. Not with any undertones of "this is what some people do WRONG!!!1!!!!" or "I'm gonna make myself look ugly!" mind you (I hate that shamey shit). Just a value-neutral "here are yet more ways a person could make their features look very different" or a mad scientist "is it possible to full-on make my face look like it's inside-out, with everything that sticks out seeming to recede and vice-versa?" kinda thing.
I Love your tutorials so much!! They are just so on point and straight up informative. One really feels that is learning something instead of just watching some one doing make up that works just for their face structure.

Thank you for your detailed tutorial! Although my asian eyes are mature, downturned, hooded with minimal lid space , I really learned a lot. Thank you! I really enjoy your channel!
Most tutorials I've seen and followed in the past have leaned towards the foxy left-side look and I'd sort of accepted that as being the 'correct' way to do eyeshadow, but on my similarly round eyes the end result somehow consistently looked less bold and punchy than I'd prefer for a night out. Your right-side look is the intensely smokey statement eye I needed all along! Really helpful, thank you.
This is literally the BEST eyeshadow learning video I’ve ever watched on TH-cam! I love how close you are zoomed into your camera always and the whole concept of all your videos. You explain the reasons why we should do our makeup and make it so easy to understand. Instead of talking about your day, and putting on your mAkeup without telling how and why your applying it the way you are. Love it! Your the best girl!
I live for the dude series. I'm definitely going to try this because my eye shape is similar to yours, not very round, more almond, but more hooded (because of age) that I have similar issues with eyeshadow placement. This explained it in a way that I understand. You're awesome at explaining and teaching the "why's". Love love love this series. I hope you never run out of things to teach us. Lol 😂❤
I like the language you use, it's like when a sports instructor tells you how a stretch or position should feel if you're doing it as intended or what parts are working. Really helpful because just looking doesn't always tell you everything you need
I’ve always hated my eyes but I feel so blessed to have found you who has a similar shape and looks drop dead gorgeous with advice that not only gives me hope but inspiration too ❤️
Doll-I would LOVE IT if you can do a video on the best mirrors and lighting that you recommend! I am really struggling with that, especially for those of us who need glasses or magnifying mirrors to apply our makeup. Thanks so much!
Meee too. Please! Subscribing and ringing bell in hopes we can get help with this specific eye shape, to emphasize the almond shape and make it kitty-cat-like
Can you please please do a super easy everyday look? I've gotten my base down, but the eye looks I pull are either awful or too much. I have almond brown eyes btw, they look nice until I put eyeshadow on lol
I think one of the biggest points is how much eyeshadow to push on each brush for each step. What looks like a small amount can vary between brushes and what product is being used. Where to apply the product on the brush is a trivial point as well. Then move on to practicing application techniques. Honestly I don't think there are videos on applying product to tools, it just gets skipped over.
I know that money struggle too😩 I use probably too old makeup because of that.. I bought from like -60% sale (spent ~60e) and still it made a huge dent in my budget☹

I never line under or use dark shadows under my eyes because it really highlights how much bigger my right eye is compared to my left.
I like the language you use, it's like when a sports instructor tells you how a stretch or position should feel if you're doing it as intended or what parts are working. Really helpful because just looking doesn't always tell you everything you need
I love your videos ! And you’re so beautiful you’re literally a goddess 😍
This series is actually the best series I’ve ever seen on TH-cam and I don’t even watch makeup or beauty content 👀👏🏼
Love your videos❤️ especially this series 🔥
Thanks babe!
I have to thank you for teaching me dark pushes things back and light brings it forward, I literally use it daily now.
Need pointers on how to make deep set small almond eyes look bigger.
Meee too. Please! Subscribing and ringing bell in hopes we can get help with this specific eye shape, to emphasize the almond shape and make it kitty-cat-like
I love how you just get straight into the video!! You have no idea how much I appreciate that
Can you please please do a super easy everyday look? I've gotten my base down, but the eye looks I pull are either awful or too much. I have almond brown eyes btw, they look nice until I put eyeshadow on lol
I love the way you teach. I older and things have changed eyes are hooded now. I desperately need this. Thank you
the notification got me so excited i started clapping uncontrollably
you and your intros are always a breath of FRESH air
ILYSM SO PLEASE MAN, DON’T LEAVE US HANGING LIKE THAT. thanks anyway for this. needed a Sunday pickmeup.
You are a true artist. Your videos are so instructional. LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS. Thank You for teaching us.
This literally solves all problems that ive been having with my eyeshadow that i didnt know how to fix! Thank you so much 🙏🏻
I wish I could get youtubers' unwanted PR. My gosh, things are so freaking expensive in the country where I live--especially on a college budget.
I know that money struggle too😩 I use probably too old makeup because of that.. I bought from like -60% sale (spent ~60e) and still it made a huge dent in my budget☹
You're are so simple and right to the point. These will be my go to videos :)
9:57 whenever someone asks how your crush looks like😅
I love how you get to the point. I'm here for a makeup tutorial, not gossip. By the way, this is the most helpful eyeshadow tutorial I've seen all year.
I need a "dude, the way you apply mascara changes your whole makeup"
