Exactly!! Every time I tried out eyeshadow it ended up looking like sh*t because I had no idea what brushes to use and how to blend etc. That’s why I’ve never wore eyeshadow out in public at age 23, not even on Christmas or New Years Eve, even though I like it on others. This channel is exactly what many of us needed 🙏🏻
5 minute make up looks are my jam. lol! my eye are small so the area I have to blend is small. Having a lot of small blending brushes helped me. That Jaclyn hill upper crease brush is a godsend to blend out to nothing. I use a lot of real techniques for super fast looks.
This is one of the best blending videos I've ever watched! I've watched so many & no one talks about the angle, how to hold it, keeping your mirror low, etc. You mentioned so many things I'd never heard before. I mean, they do talk about which brush to use, using a light hand & holding closer to the end of the brush, & some of those things. But you gave SO many other tips & helpful advice Thank you! Fantastic video!😊
Louis Vuitton Lady I always talk about how to hold the brush in every tutorial the reason is because if you hold the brush down and angle it up your pushing the color upwards if you want it concentrated into the socket and only there then it helps to hold the brush straightahead or at a slight angle upwards that way the bristles on the side of the brush do the blending for you- and for me with mature crepe wrinkly old skin and hooded eyes placement matters so I always always always mention that!
Louis Vuitton Lady Also check out Brianna fox (how to blend) hers is amazing watch her very first one she did a couple of years ago and christen Dominique both have amazing videos❤️❤️
For someone with hooded eyes, I am so jealous of that lid space. Still happy I found your channel. I'm already in college and just slap colors everywhere.

I LOVE that I can see your natural, human skin texture. Honestly, I think it's so gross that it's literally the NORM and you are the exception that... you look human and I can see your pores. I think it's outrageous and flat out deceptive that nearly ALL beauty TH-camrs use these blurring filters that remove all skin detail, and then they have the audacity to review skin makeup as if we should listen to their opinion, even though in every foundation review, ranging from "awful" to "holy grail", they look identical. Even with Tati who I think is so sweet, she will review a foundation and say "Oh my god, you guys. This foundation is awful, I can't wait to get this off my face.", and I'm just thinking "Huh?... I can't see a single pore on your face. You're literally so blurry to where your skin still looks perfect with so-called "terrible" foundation.". Rant over. It just bugs me! For someone who likes to draw and has only done make up on a friend once, I definitely found your video the most helpful when painting a subject in 3d. The tips about angle and brush sizes and styles makes so much sense. It's also nice to see what you actually use recommended. I also dig the way you went about your video. To the point but thoroughly detailed. Super cool!
The shadow look you did is amazing!! Thank you so much for this video! This is the best one I've seen. It helped sooooooooo sooooooo much. I immediately subscribed.
In all the bazillions of makeup tutorials I've watched, you're the first one to explain transition colour, beyond gesturing vaguely at a palette and saying, There are some good transition shades here.
This is my first time watching you, and i am really impressed. I love how you talk, it is very obvious that you are very professional and knowledgeable about make-up. 👏🏻👌🏻
This technique was so hard to get but after I figured it out it changed the way that I do my eyeshadow it looks so flawless! I would absolutely love to see a video like this about cream products and what type of technique you used to apply them. I love the look you created using the to Huda Beauty pallets I wish more people would do tutorials about using multiple pallets because as a regular person doing my makeup I am constantly reaching for multiple pallets to finish a look instead of just one and it's so great to see somebody finally acknowledged that ❤
Ok let me say I haven’t been into any beauty gurus in a long time . Like I haven’t cared about application or methods . But you missy just changed that and has made me fall in love with makeup again. 😘
Finally!! I’ve been saying for years that those big fluffy brushes people use to start are too big!! I loved absolutely everything you taught!! You rock girl!! I learned even more!! Refreshing, informative and fun!! 🥰❤️
If I go overboard on the outer edge , aka if it’s too harsh, not blended enough, Patchy or took the eyeshadow out too far I will go in with a fluffy brush and blend my translucent powder over the edges to Soften it a bit. Or I’ll use a skin tone finishing powder.
same. but since I switched to smaller brushes my placement and blend is more precise so I have to do that less. I will say i hate blending too far up into my brow or inner corner to that's where i still need to put the powder there sometimes
Thank you I thought that was one of the best eyeshadow demos I have seen. You didn't werewolf sightings of brush number 22, then go about doing your makeup. You took your time and you explained every brush that you used, the company name the reason you pick that particular brush, its density, and what it was made of. that would each brush you describe the effect that it was going to give on the eye and how to use it on the eye. you also gave other choices and brushes depending upon the size of your eye real estate, or the overall look you were going for. I particularly like the fact that you discussed what to do if you made a mistake, and how so basically not make those mistakes by applying the makeup and the way you were demonstrating. What I found interesting was most people do their whole in first, summit don't even use a primer. Then they go about why more and more eyeshadow to their eyes. By the time they're done you don't even see the original eyeshadow at all, which makes me wonder why did they use it in the first place. You in fact could see that you still had it will you first placed it in the crease and then I'm braids that effect from there. Another thing is I usually do the whole lid and then go back over in the end with a pop of I defrost or a whiter brighter shade on the on the lid, therefore completely covering the original shade that was put on first. You actually saved that part for last and you didn't have four or five Shades under it you only had your primer under it. And I know why you did that was because you said when using a free frost or a shimmer you want to apply it right to your base so that it stays on, and gives a better adhesive to the color. I found your method much faster more precise and not spending an hour applying your eye shadow, only to have put down several coats of color to cover it up with that pop a sparkle, frost or shimmer.
ahhh!!.. Its like you have been listening to my requests to do more blending videos. Your videos have literally changed the way I do my makeup. Thank you, Thank You THANK YOU for making this video.

Thanks for giving the alternatives for eye primers. I can't seem to find one that works so I've been using concealer, but I don't think that's working well either. I'll try the Elf primer. Your blending tips were great. :)
I've used the mac paint pots for eye primer, like everyone said to use and I must be the only person in the world who hates how it makes my eyeshadow look. Definitely going to try the elf!
@@mistywilson3520 I agree. I tried it and its so dry actually and pasty , ugh no, and even for non dry lids its still too heavy even a little bit...didnt like it, back to my urban decay primer portion.
You're a great teacher! I've been a mkp artist for almost 20 yrs and I got some great tips here, thank you! Now if I may, give you one piece of advice? Please consider switching your ring light for a soft box. A ring light was invented to get rid of any shadows for a science centric project, not actually to shoot beauty. It takes away ALL shadows and makes things FLAT. It's also pretty harsh and shows every detail...pores included! Soft boxes on the other hand are LIFE. Even better when they are pointed down on a 45 degree angle (not necessary, though!). Just a suggestion!
I find it (personally) really nice that she shows all these details. Soft boxes give this kind of photoshopped blurry look imo and it makes me feel like the result isn't "real"
YESSSS! I love your videos girl! You’re my fav ever. I just spent a buncha money on Pat products and would love to see more Pat eyeshadow tutorials. Thanks so much!
I have only recently started watching you but man.. I APPRECIATE you. I am 26 and feel like, make up was not as big when I was a teen as it is now. Long story short, this has made me absolutely TERRIFIED to try any type of glam, or eye shadow looks. I can 100% say that I am finally comfortable to wear these looks because of your tutorials. Thank you so much for all the details!!!!
I do love this! So much great info. Just something to keep in mind though. For those of us with significantly less space between our eyelid and eyebrow, it can be way harder to do this kind of subtle effects. For example, I have a little less than 7mm of skin between my brow and crease. And when my eyes are open and I'm looking straight on my eyelid is totally hidden and because of the angle of the skin above my eye it looks more like 3mm straight on. I could spend ages blending subtle shades together up there but no one's ever gunna see them :p. But don't be disheartened fellow small-eyed peeps, just focus on fewer bolder colours and use them to change the shape of your eye rather than trying to dazzle people with your colour work. That's just my two pennyworths though, do whatever makes you feel good ^-^
I love how you explained everything. I think this is probably the first time I have watched a video where it was VERY detailed and broken down on not just only the HOW but the WHY which is very important. I love watching your videos and learning from you

I don’t usually comment on anyone’s videos but seeing how informative and well put this video was, I just HAD to. Thank you!
Im learning a ton from you in few videos than I had in years. Love your style. Keep going ...and thank you a million again.
😭 So happy to hear this! ❤️
Super cool!
I love her voice! Anyone else?? Almost asmr
100%
How can this video not have a million likes? It's just wonderful! Thank you so much!

I LOVE Her eye colour..i can't stop staring,your humour,soothing voice,fun talking is added bonus .
You deserve so many more subscribers. Seriously have a natural talent for this. #makeupmaster
😩 thank you so much! ❤️
I absolutely love watching your videos. You are so calm and realistic compared to other makeup gurus.
Your skin texture is so real in these tutorials, I really love this!!
This technique was so hard to get but after I figured it out it changed the way that I do my eyeshadow it looks so flawless! I would absolutely love to see a video like this about cream products and what type of technique you used to apply them. I love the look you created using the to Huda Beauty pallets I wish more people would do tutorials about using multiple pallets because as a regular person doing my makeup I am constantly reaching for multiple pallets to finish a look instead of just one and it's so great to see somebody finally acknowledged that ❤
"I think it's decent" GIRL! It's amazing! Love it! Thanks.
Ok let me say I haven’t been into any beauty gurus in a long time . Like I haven’t cared about application or methods . But you missy just changed that and has made me fall in love with makeup again. 😘
I’ve been in the makeup industry for a long time and you can never stop learning, your vids are so refreshing and give such great tips!
You are absolutely beautiful. So unique. 💗💗💗 the hair is on point as well.
Even though I " thought" I already knew how to do a good eye look, this tutorial was excellent! Beautiful finished look !
Alex you rock. You explain into detail, more than anyone I have watched, and I have watched many other bloggers.
“My armpits are so sweaty it’s insane”...🤣 spit my coffee all over my iPad I laughed so hard!
Finally!! I’ve been saying for years that those big fluffy brushes people use to start are too big!! I loved absolutely everything you taught!! You rock girl!! I learned even more!! Refreshing, informative and fun!! 🥰❤️
If I go overboard on the outer edge , aka if it’s too harsh, not blended enough, Patchy or took the eyeshadow out too far I will go in with a fluffy brush and blend my translucent powder over the edges to
Soften it a bit. Or I’ll use a skin tone finishing powder.
Yes! Great technique!
same. but since I switched to smaller brushes my placement and blend is more precise so I have to do that less.
So helpful! Helped me figure out it actually might not be my blending skills but my cheap synthetic brushes!
You’re legit the best makeup channel ever. So professional, incredible makeup and you don’t get involved in stupid drama.
ahhh!!.. Its like you have been listening to my requests to do more blending videos. Your videos have literally changed the way I do my makeup. Thank you, Thank You THANK YOU for making this video.
Yay!! So good to hear! Thank you love! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m not ff
Your videos aren’t long enough. I love learning, mostly from you. Thank you for all you share❤️❤️😷
This was so interesting and informative that it didn‘t even feel like almost 22 minutes!
Really love that I can see your skin texture. It's so beautiful and gives me a realistic idea of how the makeup will actually look in real life.

this looks so amazing wow, i live for your tutorials
This is a breath of fresh air! Or old air lol. Old school youtube makeup tutorials. Thank you.
Thanks for giving the alternatives for eye primers. I can't seem to find one that works so I've been using concealer, but I don't think that's working well either. I'll try the Elf primer. Your blending tips were great. :)
I've used the Elf primer and it is really nice. And it's only like $3
I've used the mac paint pots for eye primer, like everyone said to use and I must be the only person in the world who hates how it makes my eyeshadow look. Definitely going to try the elf!
@@mistywilson3520 I agree. I tried it and its so dry actually and pasty , ugh no, and even for non dry lids its still too heavy even a little bit...didnt like it, back to my urban decay primer portion.
Best eyeshadow video ever. I say that because I actually learned something that I just duplicated step by step. Thank you 😊
You're a great teacher!
One of the best makeup teachers on here
Thank you so much for all the details!!!!
im so inspired to do this eyeshadow look now lmao
Omg, finally, a TH-camr that gets to the point and informative
Omg you’re so good at explaining your techniques! Can’t wait to try them out 😊
I do love this!
I love watching your videos and learning from you
Good vocabulary.
Soothing voice.
Informative content.
Pure skills.
Willingness to teach.
I seriously think u explained things better than anyone ever looks bomb girl!!
Wow, I rarely comment but when this video first started, I thought your eye makeup was sooo gorgeous and dewy and matched perfectly with your lip color......AND THEN YOU PUT PRIMER ON and I realized it was your naked eye skin!!! OMG
Can you also give a tutorial about how to blend out the bottom lid as well, this tutorial was great, thank you.
I’m with everyone else here who is totally in love with your down to earth style!! 💖 Entertaining, funny, excellent content, well explained and beautiful too! You totally rock! 🤘🏼
