    Why not switch to a flush mount cap/filler neck usually used when relocating tanks under bed. Could've been flushed up where you originally had it on the wheel well

      @rivercity3908  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I should have mentioned it but another reason I moved it was because the filler hose was rubbing against the tire on full compression of the rear suspension. The place I moved it to keeps that from happening.

      Everybody is doing flush mount. I like the fact he changed it up. Custom doesn’t mean the same thing for everyone. I like it. Will look amazing when it’s color matched. 👍🏼

    I've seen the jerry can with oil cans and other things before. Totally trick and nice little touch there. LOVE IT!

    Thats a great idea with the jerry can. Nice custom touch.

    Love the videos, but to be honest, I don't like the Jerry can on the wheel well. I would have kept the can complete and put it in the back corner, strapped to the side. Make it look like it's meant to be there as an emergency Jerry can. Maybe that wasn't possible though?

      @rivercity3908  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks brother! Yeah sadly the height of the gas tank inlet would have then been higher than the filler line causing a backup or air lock situation.

      Ahh. Gotcha. I figured you had a reason. I know you always do your best regardless.

    Glad you mentioned towards the end of your video, to be sure that your fuel hoses are compatible with fuel. DO NOT USE ...just any rubber hose or clear vinyl tubing. After awhile it will break down and cause issues...in the long run. Good job...

    Nice to see your videos again...I took a page out of your book and went with the Speedhut gauges...incredible quality and plugging into the OBD port makes it basically a no brainer

    • @rivercity3908

      Those gauges are just too good! Glad they worked for ya! When it comes to gauges you get what you pay for, and those things are worth every penny!

    Great video as always Matt. Awesome content and it’s good to see progress is continuing to move forward. Now, let’s talk about your choice in background music. I know youtube has copyright rules with music, and yours was very relaxing, maybe too relaxing. There has to be something out there that isn’t so sleep inducing. I kept feeling my eyes droop and I kept nodding off.

    • @rivercity3908
      @rivercity3908  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha! Thanks for the comment brother. Yeah Brock’s music is certainly laid back, that’s what I love about it. So many classic car TH-cam videos just repeat stock copyright rockabilly non stop that it just begins to feel stale. So my advice is to harness the relaxation and drift off to sleep, have sweet dreams of car customization and let that video play. Then when you come to, realize you are now rested and ready to pick up where you left off and watch it again so I can buy more project cars with the ad revenue 😉

    It may be too late now but when you first had the can I pictured the bottom being cut out and then the jerry can possibly bolted to the floor behind the cab. Then it would just look like it was placed in the bed but in reality not removable. Either way great job. Love the videos and great to hear we’ll see more this year!

    Nice work Matt! Hopefully you will cover my question in an upcoming video, but am curious on where the other ends of the hoses will connect. I’m slowly but surely getting back to my F-100 Marquis build and have yet to address the pesky filler-neck situation. Thanks

    I'm not sure how I feel about the Jerry can situation, but the idea of it I think is cool. At the end of the day, doesn't really matter what I think about it, if you like it that's good. However, when you paint it all one color good chance I like it more. Definitely better than before. Keep it up! Flu sucks

  • @tis1980

    That Jerry can idea is awesome. Personally I would’ve left it as a full can and bolted to the floor. Mount it by the tailgate or right behind the cab. Cool idea though.

    I put the Vic door in the side of the bed...I really don't see the "flow" of the body line issue...to me it looks like it belongs there. I like the Jerry can idea but I want to put a cover on my bed and didn't want to fiddle with moving/lifting it when I put gas in it.

    Good looking idea, I can relate to your thoughts as I didn't want any holes in the side of my bed either. Since it's only the half can I would paint it to match the bed. ~Pat

    I guess it's too late but, I'd like to see the filler neck behind the tail light. I've seen a few on line. Pretty cool. I'd like to see it being done.
    Either way, your truck is awesome.
