I'm a bit behind in time to respond to this I guess, just discovering yourselves *and* Ryan George as bingeable creators while I ride out a week or so of being made inert by sciatica - anyway, all great stuff; just perked up with this one especially so though at the mention of 'The Fall' by Jaby, a beaut of a movie indeed - and wondered if you'd come across 'The Cell' (Jennifer Lopez, Vincent D'Onofrio) also from Tarsem Singh, I'm assuming probably yes but thought it maybe worth a mention nonetheless - very much showing the lush visual style but rather darker in subject/content...
Nice video - I liked Lee Pace a lot as Ronin - the comedy set-up is like Twelfth Night - the heroes shown as a gang of rowdy children and the villain Malvolio as contrasting "parent" w no sense of humor - Pace makes a hilarious Malvolio in how seriously he takes himself and how mortified he is at their disrespectful antics Nice reference to Whedon's major impact on MCU -

Before this movie came out, I knew the Guardians of the Galaxy through the Lego Marvel Superheroes video game, and they popped up in one episode of Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes! Other than that, I don't know who they were. Ronan was yet another throwaway villain. People were excited when a younger Ronan came back in Captain Marvel, and I'm like, "Why are you all excited? He was trash!"

That's the big trick though... a "GOOD" joke. Imo after the LOTR trilogy jokes overpowered serious and intense scenes a bit. And MCU goes next level on that. Where, if they're just joking around while fighting bad guys, it sometimes takes me out of the movie. It's like: "Okay so these are opponents that are so super easy, that you can be pre-occupied with something else..." It gives me that: "Why should I care about this scene at all?"-vibe. And then everyone, also, has to have a witty or quirky line. All this combined makes 8 out of 10 MCU movies feel like they were no real threat to the heros at all, anyways, to me.
Well, James Gunn wanted to do a Marvel movie at the time and they let him choose which IP he wanted to make....hence, why we got GotG. James is quirky like that. Easy enough.
I'm pretty sure Ryan is gonna re visit this one soon but still! I love that you watch old pitchs with her 🥺 Bra needs more Ryan in her life for sure... Did you guys watched Super MaRIo Brothers, Power Rangers and Old Pitch Meeting? They're super THIGHT also watch the Pitch for Morbius 🙃
I almost wish Ryan would redo some of his older Pitch Meetings like this one but keep the jokes in because the jokes are great as always but his delivery and timing of both Ryan characters at the time of this Pitch Meeting was still a work in progress and a bit rough in spots and lacks the flow of his newer ones.
I still don't care about these characters 🤷🏽♂️. Couldn't care less. I can't see them as charismatic, just silly. The best ending for the next movie for me would be if they all died. 😊
I don't watch guardians of the galaxy movies really, okay I saw as much as I could take of volume 3 before I turned it off the only time I could see the carthers is in the avengers movies and that also goes for most of the avengers individual movies except for iron man and spider man, but otherwise I can't take the movies too much.

Guardians came out right after The Winter Soldier too, which made it all the more weird and unexpected, but it worked really well. Peak MCU for me.

The Collector did give some exposition on how a collection of people could hold a stone longer than if it was just one person.

There wasn't just a button or a switch to turn off the artificial gravity, Rocket rewired it to turn it off.
To be fair they explained how the Guardians were able to spread the effect of the Infinity Stone between them.

Vin DIesel actually is a good voice actor. With the CGI faces and voice intonations he delivers the best lines in movie (both funny and emotional)
