There really is no slow Mclaren. 570s is still a rocket ship, and it's such a good drivers car.

The 570s is running around 600HP and is a tad under 3,000 pounds. It's a rocket.

Yeah that was my best run of the day before it got too hot. I was surprised too but learned a lot about what difference weight makes. Those Mclarens are so consistent
Those were some good races and those cars are really quick for street tires.
Michelin Pilot 4S are my favorite for street/strip

Yeah a little disappointed by the weight but man is she a nice ride on the highway. Just means we gotta add more power!
3-4MPH less for the C8Z06 and 100HP MORE LOLOL. The new Mclaren Artura ( replacement model of 570S ) is trapping 140MPH !

I have friends with supercars from all the major brands and they all stay in the shop except the Porsche turbo s. , hurcan and r8. The macs stay in the shop with factory problems . All my zo6 and zr1 guys cars never go to the shop unless they are going for tunes and mods and they beat on them .

Great video. I never thought the 570s would beat a C8 Z06. I thought (when I owned it) my C7 Z06 would beat them. 😮😮. One of my unobtainable dream car is 600LT with that crazy exhaust. That 570a was cooking.
Chevy did/does not make a car that can beat even the entry level 570S. Even a ZR1 cant do 10.5@131 consistently in the hands of 99% of owners. As you can see from this video, he can do 10.5@131 all day long unless he upshifts wrong as he did first run.
I was surprised as well. Really shows how weight can play a huge factor. Those Mclarens have to be go karts on a road course.
@justarandomcarguy Mclaren doesn’t make a NEW $120k car that can run 10.5-11.0 depending on how bad the TH-cam driver is either. 🤷🏻♂️
@@RWDC8ZThis is the problem people fail to grasp with Corvettes. They are not “bargains” as most claim. Bargain would be mclaren performance, mclaren weight, mclaren looks, mclaren doors AND drumroll Corvette price…. Problem is, you dont get any of that. You get something a lot less. You do get what you pay for. Corvettes are always compromises otherwise they wouldnt cost $120k.

@@RWDC8Z no I owned a c7 Z06 mildly modified and received my C8 Z51 this year. The C8 Z06 is a little pricey for me, but it is a bad ass car.

Great job in the race. What are the differences of your launch setup at the track compared to the street? Trying to figure the right combo for RPM, Slip, Track with vht, street setup is confusing. GM should have a setup graph in the owners book. lol
Mclaens are fast but other then the back end I never been a fan. Too much money, the front reminds me of the spaceships from the old TV series "Space 1999" and the interior is inferior (I made a rhyme). The interior and the and infotainment is BIG time better in the c8. I dont know how Mclaren gives that old ipad thing in the center. haha GM really hit it out of the park for value

Adjustable is new for the Z06. Maybe for the 23 or 24 stingray?🤷🏻♂️ not sure

If you had the carbon ceramic brakes and carbon fiber wheels, you would have a much closer race... or won.... Unsprung wheel and rotor weight is equivalent to over 30hp (at the wheels)...
Yeah it would have been much closer. Love the stock wheels. Probably going to rock them for a while then look into some after markets
Also, if you go with something like Forgedlite wheels and non-run flats, you'd get better traction and have lighter wheels/tires. You had drag radials for your Stingray - can you use them on the Z?
I agree. The stock wheels, although heavier, look awesome. It's almost not worth changing rims for looks.

NO 570 S runs 10.5s unless boost pressure is modded.
We own 2, one is modded and one is stock with 7k miles, 10.5 is what the stock one ran
