The two cars are actually very well matched and should have been head to head. ESC needs to be switched COMPLETELY OFF in the McLaren and not put in Dynamic mode. Dynamic mode gives you a sluggish take off. When switched OFF completely, you will swear that you are in an AWD vehicle and it will knock you back in your seat. Also, MANUAL needs to be selected--yes manual--and it will redline in MANUAL and autoswitch gears. Just do not back off the throttle during launch or it will convert to a true manual mode and hit the redline wall.
These guys have proven they can't drive McLarens.

First of all, these two cars aren't even direct competitors. The 488 is more powerful than the 570s. And competes with the 650s. But the 570s still performs way better than this video would suggest.
The roof should’ve been up for the 570S Spider...
We did that in case of a crash. Jared's head would take the impact in a rollover and his really strong neck would protect the Mclaren from any damage whatsoever. Its simple science.

Just a suggestion. Simple science also says the aerodynamics will be worse for a car with the roof down. But guess we all learn. As for the head impact, I’d suggest helmets. But anyways, cool video.

Haha you guys don’t know how to use a mclaren. First you have to turn traction completely off. You do this by being is either race or track mode for both the power and handling. Hit the esc off button once and it will put you in esc dynamic mode then hit and hold the button for at least 5 seconds. Then in the instrument cluster it will say to confirm esc of press the button again and viola it’s esc and stability control are completely off. Also for launch control once again be in sport or track mode. With the steering wheel STRAIGHT and the brake depressed to the floor push the launch button. In the instrument cluster is will say awaiting full throttle. The as you have the brake fully pressed with you left foot you will have to fully press the gas peddle with your right foot pass the kick down point and hold until it says active. Then all you do is take your foot of the brake. The car will not let you launch if the trans engine oil engine coolant or tires are cold. And just make sure the wheel is straight.
McLaren launch mode: You have to make sure you're pressing the brakes (carbon ceramic) *really* hard, and the engine oil, coolant, and transmission all must be up to temperature (and not too hot).
Also if you want to do donuts, you need to build up just a tiny amount of speed and cut the wheel. Also it looks like traction control was still possibly...
