If this was my son I would be devastated, 1st because he participated in such a horrific act. 2nd because as hard as it is I would have to admit he deserved the max sentence. My adult son was in jail for numerous things due to his alcoholism and drunken violence. We allowed him to move in with us once he was released under the condition that if he drank, he would have to leave. Unfortunately he only lasted 1 weeks and was drunk again. We called the sheriff and had him arrested. It was very difficult to see him led away in handcuffs. He spent 4 months in jail and then to an inpatient treatment facility, then to sober living. That was over a year ago and he can visit us during the day, no overnight stays and cannot live here ever again. We refuse to be enablers. It is really tough though.
@Axelsmom my truest sympathy goes to you. It is so heart breaking to see our kids lose themselves with drugs, alcohol or mental illnesses. Hopefully he will recover and you will remain strong.
Wow, that's very sad to hear. I hope your son gets back on the right track. All too often, I see these parents who continue letting their grown children make the same bad mistakes repeatedly, basically enabling them when they think they're helping. It does sound like you made the right move. At some point, you have to cutoff the financial support and push them to get outside help.
So in your experience, did your son's true nature come out when he drank? According to all the other commenters here, the true personality comes out. Lol as a substance use disorder therapist and the daughter of an alcoholic, I know for a fact that these commenters are ridiculously uninformed in that the toxins muddle somebody's mind so that absolute blasphemy comes out, not their true personality. People behave uncontrollably and in ways that they normally never would when they are intoxicated, and I've never heard a drunk person telling the truth about anything! In fact, drunk people out there and exaggerate more, makeup lies, don't understand right from wrong, and are willing to go along with things they normally never would be. But according to all the intelligent commenters here, lol, that's just who they really are!😂 Pathetic. It's sad how very little society understands about alcoholism and addiction.
Oftentimes Love Enables but Tough Love is the only thing that truly works. You did the right thing, been in your shoes so I know your anguish and do feel your pain
Amazing how his mother is stoic when she hears about the devastating trauma towards another human being.. but becomes a drama queen when she hears her son actually has to be accountable and go to jail!! Kudos to the judge & prosecuting attorney!!
Well, yeah, the victim isn't her kid. Most of us aren't breaking down over any of the victims in these cases. If it was someone I knew or loved, that's different. There's a stronger emotional response for those we love, regardless of the action.
I don’t think the OP relayed expectations of the mom exhibiting the same response for both the victim and her son. I think the point being made was how vastly different her responses were. She did appear “stoic” when hearing of the very traumatic details that the victim endured at the hands of her son. She showed very little emotion. Most people who are able to withhold strong feelings are able to regulate and maintain their emotions with small variances. Thus indicating that mom seems to give very little regard to the victims and his injuries and her concern lies mainly on her son’s freedom. Most humans would have a hard time holding back emotion when hearing the details of their child’s inhumane acts on another person. The fact that she displayed no change of feeling when she heard even new details of what the victim had to endure such as being stabbed also speaks volumes.
I've never understood why the penalty for attempted murder isn't exactly the same as it is for murder, because it's only by astronomical odds that the victims survive.
The victim lost an eye, had a depressed skull fracture, was stabbed and was shot several times and the defense wants deferred adjudication? Whether he pulled the trigger or not, he didn’t try to stop the attack
And brain trauma. That stuff's life-altering. Yes, people with TBI go on to rediscover a new life worth living because that's what human beings do, but by God it's a hard road to get there. Learning to be a whole different person ain't for sissies.
There will be a separate hearing for restitution. The state was arguing they could not determine the appropriate amount without additional evidence and requested this be handled separately.
Let me get this straight, if you're a convict, you can get a free college degree but if you're a law abiding citizen, you must pay for your degree?! What?!!
True, yet imo you only have "choice" the first time you put an illicit drug into your system, so be smart. Once addicted....need over-powers all choices.
It starts out as a Choice and becomes an uncontrollable addiction - some people are wired differently in their DNA for addiction - if that’s the case we’ve got to vigilant and steer clear
He simply repeated what he was coached to say. There was ZERO remorse in his voice for any part of what he did. He did his best to minimize everything. Pathetic pos.
His mother. She’s a real piece of work! She knows exactly who her son is and I feel she moved to another state to get distance from him, not just her family. So she sits there and cries over a measly 12 years! He’ll be 38 when he gets out, but his victim is permanently disfigured and will no doubt suffer forever.
@@outdoorsforachange - Except for *_one tiny detail; he's pleading guilty._* His guilt has already been established. *_He is guilty._* This is a sentencing hearing. Perhaps you missed that.
Lmao I needed this laugh because this case is making me sad because of the mother.... And I can understand drug addiction.... But I most definitely don't even begin to understand what part of addiction can lead someone to this level of degeneracy, disregard, and just subhuman behavior... But man... It makes me sad for the mother tho... She seems like a sweet lady just hoping for the best she could ask for .... Despite the reality of what her son had done... I guess what I'm saying is it just sucks for her. The dude is trash however.
Right… those minimums are for people who are habitual offenders and/or are selling large quantities of substances; substances that led to this situation. I’m all for decriminalizing weed, but heavier drugs are a true problem.
@@x27offif you make ALL drugs legal, it will eliminate rich and powerful drug dealers. It will also eliminate the theft and madness created by addiction
In Pennsylvania you can find yourself in jail for 5 years for your first misdemeanor shoplifting offense. Or if you're a black woman you can take the police on high-speed car chase and get a year probation.
@@MITCH_61 That’s what the state of Texas allowed. The defense decided to plead guilty with a plea deal with the state at a bench trial rather than take a chance with a jury trial. At 0:35 the judge says the state capped the deal at 12 years and the defense applied for deferred adjudication as they rolled the dice for the adjudication. One would be mad at the judge if she ignored the state’s request and decided to let that idiot get away with deferred adjudication. If the judge had ignored the state and had gone OVER the cap of 12 years, the plea deal is broken and the defense can withdraw from the plea deal. The defendant cannot appeal the capped sentence because defense waves their right to appeal upon taking the deal.
@debbieb8533 in Texas a jury would have gave Him and the co-defendant a death sentence...He needed more...deal should have been bare minimum life with parole after 25 years...that would have put him around 50.If he is paroled at 50 he can still get to get married have a wife and kids and live some kind of life unlike his victim.....
I speak after spending 30 career working yrs supporting attorneys. Judge Boyd is one of the fairest judges I have observed. Tough, yes when needed. Softer, not soft, when needed. She restores faith in the system to those who can argue our system is faulty and favors criminals.
You have succinctly stated how this judge has come across to me in the 15-20 cases of hers I've watched so far. She seems to be everything that is right about our system.
@@Matesozenmeans she either works at a law office as a front desk clerk or filing clerk because a paralegal would call themselves that. People like her try to make their opinions sound relevant by making themselves seem like people coming with some background to the topic but are just peons.
The same goes for anyone in general never taking accountability for themselves. I bet there are many times when you don't take accountability for yourself and I bet a lot of people who replied to you never take accountability for themselves
Recently I found out my 40 y.o. son abused his wife by choking her, they have split. When she told me I let her know she should press charges. I let him know I would not defend his actions. We cant control the behavior of our loved ones. Knowing he would do the unthinkable has devastated me, and knowing he has been using drugs. This is new behavior for him, he had always been the Hero, and this sudden change in his behavior is devastating, his wife is struggling with health issues. I'm praying for both of them 🙏 ❤.
The Mom crying because her demon son is sentenced to 12 years after hearing how heinous this crime was, should be ashamed of herself! He needs to be sentenced to life without the possibility of parole!
Right? Her son is a monster and of course her mom won’t come here and read the comments but she should always know and live with the fact her son is a selfish monster. What did she think? He was going to get a slap on the wrist and sent home on probation eat cereal and watch tv? Poor victim suffering almost died.
I completely agree! Did anyone notice at 26:15 his attorney was trying to help him out by suggesting that he was scared of DK and that's why he went along with it. We all know where the attorney was going with it yet this kid interrupted and answered anyone and in doing so hurt his own case. Everyone but this kid knew what direction his attorney way headed in that line of questioning....literally everyone but him!
After questioning the defendant, that prosecutor walked away and came back so pissed off. You can see him just standing there Grinding his teeth and just so pissed off. Every emotion was warranted.
She rubbed me wrong. She almost seemed aloof, had to mention Lupas her disability, mentioned a hand cramp, typically poor me mentality. What about the victim, she defended saying well my son didn't shoot him.... WOW. Zero accountability for him.
@@leannabedore Lupus is a disability, and lupus brain fug is a real side effect of lupus that can and will take one's life. If you want to call that poor me mentality, you do you. No, where was “WOW. Zero accountability for him.” ever stated. Here is where everything rubs me wrong, Had this been 3 or 4 cops that beat someone to death on the side of the road. And it happens, often. Only the officer who hit the most or hit the deadly blow would be charged or at least fired. This happens regularly. However, when it comes to citizens, it could be 3 or 4 and one of them shoots or injures someone and all 3 or 4 get charged with pulling the trigger. When it comes to cops, there are just a few bad apples. When it comes to citizens, they are all just bad. We have double standards and two tear justice system in this country and citizens, either uneducated and emotional bags, approve of it.
@o0o_Wheelz_o0o I can agree with you because I have lived with Lupus my entire life and very familiar with all the symptoms. Personally, during testifying, I wouldn't say "oh I'm sorry I have lupus and brain fog" and continue with shaking my hand in the view of the camera stating I had a cramp. I felt she was trying to gain sympathy as do many others after watching Judge Boyd daily. I'm glad this woman can still function and have a somewhat normal life and owning her own business by making crafts and selling them. Some people with lupus do not get to have a functioning lifestyle. I think anyone that commits a crime whether it be an officer or citizen should each be investigated and charged accordingly to their crimes. Unfortunately this is Texas and the sentences are tough and long.
The mother is upset for her son but what about te mother of the victim. Did she show any empathy for her. I don’t think so. There should be no such thing as almost murder. The victim only “accidentally” lived. Shocking once again America, and a free degree to boot.

She says she and her parents (dragging the poor grandparents in to this) will take him to every meeting and to every appointment and support him, etc. etc. If she wasn't enabling, she wouldn't have been a witness for the defense whatsoever. The kid hasn't had to do anything for himself, and still wouldn't if he were out awaiting trial - she's gonna do it all for him. Not good.
His lawyer has a PAIR of big brass ones asking for deferred. Listening to what the victim went through was horrific. 12 years is a gift in itself. Smh.
Mom needs to take a moment to put herself in the perspective of this victim's mother. Do you want to get a phone call saying that your child might die because they were beaten, stabbed, shot, hogtied, thrown in a trunk, and finally dumped on the side of the road? You might want to save those tears that you are crying because they're going to be the only ones falling for that monster.
“Drugs and DK did everything to Joshua after Joshua hit ME.” 🙄 Dude! You can’t pay for an eye, crushed skull, PTSD or bring his condition of life back! 🤷🏽♀️He should get rehab in jail.
A mother will always cry when there is nothing she can do to make things right to help her children, even when they have done wrong. It's a deep despair when a mother or father realizes that the child they love is lost to them, probably forever. The judge was more than fair. This was attempted murder, there is no fixing that and there is no going back from this heinous crime that will be impacting the victim for the rest of his life. This young man could have been facing life without parole and after what was done to the victim in this case he doesn't deserve early release, in my opinion he should serve the full sentence and then some.
I know tons of drug addicts and none of them have ever done anything like this. I hate when drugs are blamed for everything. I know meth can make people do dumb shit but it sounds like he was fairly coherent to me.
That always grinds my gears. It makes more sense when there are appeal plans but he can't appeal, so I don't know why this guy is saying that. I can only speculate.
I never understand why defendants go to sentencing with nothing but excuses after already being found guilty. At that point, the judge is going to (rightfully) work under the assumption that you committed the crimes as charged. Trying to lie, mislead, or minimize those crimes is the worst thing you can do at that stage, more or less guaranteeing you'll get the near to the max or the maximum sentence. Taking full responsibility, making no excuses, and at least appearing to be genuinely remorseful is the best strategy. Given these crimes, the guy was likely getting 12 years regardless, but what he said only assured that. He'd have been better off remaining silent than this.
That prosecutor is fuming inside. After his cross examination of the defendant he is so angry that that guy has the gall to even ask for deferred adjudication.
I can't even imagine how awful it was for the victim and his family to sit and listen to this testimony. It was painful to me, and I didn't even know anyone involved.
Once she said “he’ll be better here where he doesn’t know any bad people” I knew he was a lost cause. Mommy can’t imagine her sweet wittle angle being mean to anyone, he was being forced by those awful buddies of his!!🙄🙄🙄🙄
Yes, other people CAN have an influence on you! I'm 83 and have had people have an influence whether good or bad my ENTIRE life. MILLIONS of people give TESTIMONY to the fact of OTHER PEOPLE having an influence on them, good or bad!!
I tried that with my brother's. Disappointing how quickly they find trouble and thinking they can bring it home to me. Sorry boys, not here, not ever. Own your choices.
I was a juvenile delinquent although nothing like this and my mother blamed it on the crowd I hung out with. What she failed to realize is that I hung out with them because we had similar interests. My dad saw it but a boys best attorney is usually his mother. I've watched this judge before and she seems like the type of person that we need as a judge.
The mom didnt cry at all listening to what her son qnd his friend did to that man or his injuries, but once hes sentenced to 12 years in prison than she breaks down crying!🤦♀️
I saw this as it happened it was just horrific and the mother was a bit of a drama queen and her testimony like all of her falling about was all fake. Her son escaped a murder charge by the skin of his teeth he should thank his lucky stars he is not facing capital punishment via law of parties. "This was a murderous act without the death" sums it up very nicely

There's no way he'll take the opportunity to get a college degree because that requires intelligence , this guy knowingly participated in a crime of severe violence ! He had the chance to walk away but he didn't ! After reading about all the details in regards to this case, I'm shocked at Judge Boyde & the light sentence given to this vile criminal. He absolutely accepts ZERO responsibility for the MANY decisions he made to alter the victims life FOREVER! Even worse, these 3 knew each other & hung out prior to the victims attempted murder. The terrifying acts perpetrated on this human being were horrifying. All for an illegal trade of goods that went wrong by an uninvolved party. A person that had nothing to do with the original agreement, went & changed it. The 3rd party took back the item, not the victim. These 2 felons did not care. They made the victim pay with his life, even though he hadn't been part of the take back. Yes, I know I said with his life & he's still alive. I say that because in a sense, it's true. The victims life, as he knew it, will NEVER EVER be the same. As I cope with my own trauma, I am so grateful that it's not this victims trauma. I struggle greatly with what I went through & it's ALWAYS there, but compared to this human being........well it doesn't compare. My bell tolls for this young man as I have twin sons the same age & can't begin to imagine either of them suffering like this.
My grandson and his cousin did something similar to their uncle. They were using drugs. When the sheriff’s deputies came to arrest them, my grandson broke and ran into the house. He got a 16 gauge shotgun out which was loaded. He put the barrel of the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger, he was 16 years old. It’s been about 20 years ago but it still hurts so bad.
This kid is the definition of evil. It may be another 12 years, but when he gets out someone else will be in peril. Callous, heinous, and only showing remorse because he got caught. If he had done this to my son, he wouldn’t be in court.

Another case of a Mother not wanting to believe her darling little Boy would do such horrible things to another Human. She has basically been away from and not involved in her Sons life for quite some time but is ready to believe his BS story of him not actually doing anything to the victim. He did do horrible things to the young Man, that was proven but he denies it to his Mother, and she is blind enough to believe him. Who knows he could lose his temper with her and she could end up just like the person he helped put in the Hospital or even dead….
I disagree with you. The mother said he was different when he was on drugs. She wants to believe that he'll be the same person he was before he was into drugs. That may or may not happen. Having faith that your child can change is normal for parents to think. She understands the severity of what he did, even if she didn't know the full details. She wants to be his safety net and help him in any way that she can. If he can stay clean, he might be the person she thinks he is. The fact that he was evasive and didn't own up to everything may mean he'll never change.

12 years is a joke. Why they were even speaking of probation and no jail time is offensive to the victim 🤬 This guy is SO FULL OF IT. He was freaking out when the prosecutor was questioning him.
"I admit that what I did was criminal. Can you forgive me?" "Yes, I can forgive you but I cannot cancel the legal consequences that follow your actions." It is symptomatic that right through the educational system, little criminals are given chance after chance after chance so that they firmly believe this to be life's norm.
Did that mother really think the judge would not give that budding monster some prison time? He got off easy in my opinion. He participated in a near murder trial. I don’t see an ounce of pain in his face for what he did to his victim. Mom, get your thinking right he’s a little monster. He needs to be in prison. Wow talk about no sense of reality. He's a grown man. Why should his mommy help him get to his appointments and find him a job? His victim doesn't get a second chance. His world has been changed for the worse and the physical and emotional damage will last for the rest of his life.
The answer your first question, addicts need help. It's pretty shitty of you to word it that way considering the circumstances. Your second sentiment, I agree.
I love Judge Boyd. She really has a great no-nonsense approach. I also like how she always seems to suggest ways to rehabilitate, and not just waste their time so when they do get out, they are a better person less likely to harm anyone else.

However, when it comes to citizens, it could be 3 or 4 and one of them shoots or injures someone and all 3 or 4 get charged with pulling the trigger.

The fact that he was evasive and didn't own up to everything may mean he'll never change.
@@kaycee557 I agree with you. The mother was very willing to do whatever it took to ensure that he would not repeat his past murderous act. She wanted to believe the best in him because that's what parents do. But the sad fact is that he was not going to walk away from such an eggregious crime.
It is absolutely astonishing that he, his lawyer, his mom thought this crime was punishable by deferred adjudication. I'm just beyond speechless. And his denial is criminal also.
Family member testifying about past behavior isn’t much of a defense. BECAUSE HE HAS NO DEFENSE 🤬
I'm so glad that the D.A spoke up ! He changed everything. The D.A made sure the truth came out how bad his crime really was. And I think he's mom just found out how bad it was.
Oh, she knew!
You can earn a college degree for free while serving time in prison?!?! So, technically, if he stays in prison for 12 years he could leave with 4 or more different degrees under his belt without paying a dime?
And get free healthcare courtesy of taxpayers.
I mean he's not going to get a job easily with a felony under his belt.
@@jowens197 True. But he also gets to walk away without ANY student loans. I would rather have a felony in my past than than expensive and crippling student loans.
@@babs629no you wouldn’t trust me.
@@BrandonGavin_EDC 🤣😂🤣😂But you have such an honest face!
Judge Boyd passed the right sentence, pay for your crime and you still have a chance to become a productive citizen. Never go back to drugs.
He was one breath away from getting the death penalty if that victim died😮😮😮😮
So his entire sentence is hanging on the hope that his mommy can make sure that he does everything that he needs to do? Where is the personal responsibility?
@kat050107....I was wondering the same thing !!!! Mommy will make everything go away. He is supposed to be a grown man...then ACT like one and do your time. He's actually lucky he didn't get life in prison. His mother is already putting money on his acct. !!!! She would be putting all the responsibility on her own shoulders ! He doesn't care one iota about her lupus...which can be a killer.....☹😳😠
$5,000 in restitution huh? What a slap in the face.
I bet his victims medical bills are unbelievable! Wtf 😮
The $5,000 was a fine, not the restitution. They are having a restitution hearing at a later date because they didn’t have all the figures and proof of figures at the time of this hearing. I saw this before on a different channel and heard them discussing coming to a determination on the restitution when they have that hearing.
The victim can sue
He is lucky he only got 12 years I did not believe a word he said and I truly didn't see any remorse. Mom truly did not know her son. They are going to love him in prison.
Deferred adjudication? That he was even allowed to apply for deferred adjudication in the first place for what he was charged with is insane.
@@CreightonRabsRight?? I was absolutely shocked that it was even offered
@@jaxfarias973 I am as well
he is a pretty young thing. wonder how many days in he will have a boyfirend? I am betting as soon as he gets in.
@@CreightonRabsI know it’s ridiculous, also that sentence is a joke.
Judge Boyd's expressions are everything!!!
As a mother of sons, good ones I might add, I would never dream of asking for probation for my son if he had committed such a horrific crime on an individual. I would have driven my son to prison.
and that is the thing...I teach middle school and some parents will not believe their children can do anything wrong. These children behave badly and do not have consequences. Children like yours were a dream to teach because you parented.
It's always interesting to see which purse judge Boyd brings in that day.
I noticed her pursers too
This kid was one breath away from getting the death penalty if that person died❤❤😮😮
Mom thinks she can babysit her vicious adult son and keep him from re-offending.
She already knows she can’t otherwise he would not be the person he is, she failed the first time around, she’ll fail second time too!
He's 26, he's a full grown adult. He is one hundred percent responsible for his decisions.
He better hope he doesn't ever see DK outside on the streets ever again. DK is not gonna be too happy that this guy threw him right under the bus.
He better be put in protective custody in prison because it "WILL" be known that he more or less snitched on DK.
@@markharmon7598 I hope he isn't allowed anywhere near protective custody.
DK probably got life
Prison justice……snitches get stitches. I don’t necessarily condone this but that’s just how it is in prison.
Single mom with arm sleeve tattoos. The perp never knew his father. This case is not only about his terrible choices, but also his mom’s.
Neck tattoos, too.
His poor mom. She's so supportive but he sounds like a monster
The mother is ridiculous! Her video should have been turned off once she started sobbing for her son who almost killed a man. Unbelievable! Horrific! He deserves more than 12 years. But thank goodness in Texas he will serve every day. At our expense!! Prayers to the victim!
Always nice to read comments from fine, perfect, upstanding citizens who think that they become even better by stomping down others
He won't serve the 12 years bro it just won't happen
He ain't ding 12 years. unless he commits more crime in prison he'll be released in 8.
@@walterdaems57 shut up, you’re here trashing us so you’re no saint.
@@GoldenBuddah1972 I’m the last one to declare myself a saint but I hate hypocrites and little people who think they will grow by putting others down
Once the punishment is given by Judge Boyd, the mother gives a drama queen performance that would put Elizabeth Taylor to shame.
Yes, except Elizabeth Taylor was truly a lousy actress. Truly.
No. The mother was sincere. She knew nothing could save him from prison at that point.
@@NoteFromSELF she should have RAISED her son better. She didn't even care enough to know her childs birthday or age. She's just in Florida living her best life. Please with the idiotic excuses. Sincere? I didn't see a tear.
@@evmcelroy Be nice to Liz Taylor, please.🤷🏽♀️
Because of parents like this, society has MONSTERS like this. From the collective public, KEEP YOUR MONSTERS TO YOURSELF 😢😢
The biggest problem is that monsters like this often CAN'T keep to themselves. That's why we have the kind of society we do, and why the justice system is overloaded.
If mom had done her part for his first 12 years of son’s life, her son would not think it’s ok to take part in such an evil activity against another person. God help and protect us from such evilness.
I feel sorry for the mother! It must be heartbreaking! I thank God that my son is an upstanding man!
When we have more harsh penalties for probation and parole violators and pass out actual punishments: we will begin to have a better world. Slap on the wrist, participation trophy’s, all of it is what lead us here. It’s all about feelings and how unfair it is to receive punishment nowadays. Sick.
And yet the US has the highest incarceration rate per head of population in the Western world. It's a sick, punitive society that no other country should emulate.
wow this rant is psychotic. I know YOU’RE an angry drunk goddamn. I’ve never seen so much vitriol for other human beings in any other yt comment
This has already been tried and it failed it sound nice but only makes things worse in the grand scheme of things.
Nothing but lie after lie! He definitely needs to sit in Prison for a long, long time. Hopefully that would stop him from hurting or killing anyone else…
I love your wolf over there observing and twitching his little ears
12 years….I hope the mom is crying out of happiness because that seems very light for something so violent
12 YEARS!! GOOD ON YOU JUDGE!! ❤❤❤❤
Another parent trying to excuse their child's criminal behavior. "He was never violent"? Bull Apples!
12 years is a joke.
Why they were even speaking of probation and no jail time is offensive to the victim 🤬
This guy is SO FULL OF IT.
He was freaking out when the prosecutor was questioning him.
"I admit that what I did was criminal. Can you forgive me?"
"Yes, I can forgive you but I cannot cancel the legal consequences that follow your actions."
It is symptomatic that right through the educational system, little criminals are given chance after chance after chance so that they firmly believe this to be life's norm.
He should’ve gotten 20 years.
How do you not know how old your own child is ?
The tattoos tell a story. She is probably a drug addict just like her son.
Exactly!! They found her on Craigslist lol
Sometimes I have to think hard about how old I am lol
@@bryanb3352that i always try to forget 😂

What a stellar line of questioning from the attorney for the state.
He's a grown man. Why should his mommy help him get to his appointments and find him a job?
His victim doesn't get a second chance. His world has been changed for the worse and the physical and emotional damage will last for the rest of his life.
Eye roll
The answer your first question, addicts need help. It's pretty shitty of you to word it that way considering the circumstances. Your second sentiment, I agree.
Other than his drug use, assaults against others, and his vile behavior, he’s a wonderful loving son.
I love Judge Boyd. She really has a great no-nonsense approach. I also like how she always seems to suggest ways to rehabilitate, and not just waste their time so when they do get out, they are a better person less likely to harm anyone else. How many really take her words to heart, I don't know, but if at least one person does, that could save lives in the future.
This guy does not understand the idea that because he was there, he was (and is) as culpable as the other guy-you know, the one who did everything…certainly not him! He did nothing to help the victim. Zero! Probation? How can he and his atty. keep straight faces?
The moms instinctive answer about the shooting. Shows she's in denial and an enabler to her son. Plus, she don't seem to know a lot about what he's been up to. But deferred ajudication? Thats BS, he needs to go to prison!
